Kassen's Magical Thread of Science and Other Things

Flat earth is one of the craziest conspiracy theories I’ve ever heard. How can people honestly believe something that stupid?

It doesn't stand up to the barest scrutiny. You have to be a real conspiracy nut or something, to believe it.

You'd have to be insane. There's absolutely not a shred of evidence that points to the earth being flat.

How could one not have a for sure opinion?

Where does the earth begin or end?

Were are the edges?

How do planes, ships and submarines that circumnavigate the globe, horizontally an vertically?

How come the entire globe isn't all bright and dark at the same time?

You are ignorant to non liberal aka Christian based views so it be a waste of time showing you videos that make good points and some come from the bible like the roundness of the earth for example.

Like I expected, you can't answer a single simple question.

If anybody believes the earth is flat, there's something mentally wrong with that person.

As far as "Christian" goes, I went to Catholic school for eight years lol.

Catholic isn't the same.
Minor differences, and has absolutely nothing to do with people insanely believing the earth is "flat."

Believing the earth is flat is means the person is mentally deficient. There's no evidence, absolutely none, that could even hint at this insane belief.

Can we please see this evidence of a flat earth?

It's hard to imagine what a Flat Earth would look like.

Some of these people look at the Horizon and laugh saying it looks flat. if the Earth was a continuous plane though, you shouldn't have a horizon line at all.

Can we please have believable evidence that the earth actually moves 1000 miles per hour?

We can look into the Alaska treaty as well.
Typical deflection. Can't answer the very simple question and tries to deflect to another topic. That's when you know there's no support for an argument.

It's pretty simple... if the earth were truly flat, there would be no end of millennial dips***s taking selfies while hanging over the edge.

Well, I think the speed of rotation (1,000 mph) has a lot to do with the distance it takes for size of the globe the (which is established and observed) to spin one revolution to meet the sun in the same spot. Anything round (even a disc) moves faster at the outer edge than inside, so the core of a spherical earth should move much slower, same with the center hole on the flat earth where the record player post fits into. jk. My question is where is the physics model for a flat earth in the first place? There are some really smart people out there who do astro physics. There calculations all work together. None of this involves a disc earth. Here is the model of the sun and moon revolving around the flat earth. (Taken from the official Flat Eareh Society Wiki page)

How in the disc can you explain phases of the moon with that model? The moon would always be a new moon. Is it illuminated from within? Guess what? You can explain everything with a round earth! You can explain why you get approximately 12 full moons per year. You can even explain why sometimes a shadow encompasses the moon in the form of an eclipse! That is plainly the earth's shadow.

On the other hand, the speed of earth moving forward is even greater. To make a single trip around the sun, completing one year, which includes all four seasons, we would have to move 67,000 mph. It's the tilt of the earth that creates those seasons, not the closeness to the sun. This estimate includes both science and math. It also explains why places closer to the north pole and south pole get more sun on the summers and less in the winter.

I do not understand the Alaska Treaty question at all. Can you explain? What I can tell you it's I have lived in Alaska. I have been through endless beautiful summer days and long winter nights. The farther north you go in AK, the greater this effect is. People in similar latitudes all over the world share similar experiences. Iceland is a great example. This is explained by a section of the round earth simply being tilted toward the sun in the summer and tilted away from the sun in the winter.

"How in the disc" LMFAO!

Oh for god's sake (literally) please don't drag the bible into this.

This is not a Christian point of view. Unless you group it with the Christians who believe the Earth is 6000 years old. i.e., idiots.

MAJOR differences between Catholicism and Christianity? That makes no sense. Catholicism is a form of Christianity (the original form, you might say). What you mean is that there are major differences between Catholicism and the multitude of different forms of Protestantism -- some of which are fundamentalist, literalist, and wacky.

In this case, dummies are falling victim to the machine of conspiracy. Smarter people casting doubt because they understand dummies lack the proper ability to discern. There's money to be made off dummies here.

There's a few people here that know me outside of this site, I worked in intelligence for years. Part of that was staring through satellite feeds. It's not fvcking flat. I swear my life on it. I didn't need that position to know that as a fact, but fvcking hell I never thought that would be a real challenge to understand.
