Kassen's Magical Thread of Science and Other Things

Made me think of this lmao.

"He acknowledged that he still had much to learn about rocket science."

lol, I love that line.

He's going to f*cking kill himself.

And then it'll be said that the Government did it to shut him up.

That thing looks like he hooked a basketball hoop up to the end of some aftermarket carnival ride.

What is the argument by flat earthers with planes, or boats, that go around the globe?

They just believe that all the continents are on a flat surface and you go on until you hit an ice wall. They have a dumb reason for everything. I don't know what their explanation of the moon phases or satellites are though.

Some now don't even believe forests are real and that those too are a hoax.

Warships circumnavigate the globe.

Careful now, or you’ll get sucked into the dummy-vortex :). As Carlin said ‘Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.’ I don’t mean Spiritech, as he was simply giving examples. I just mean the ‘flat vs round’ argument in general.

I honestly think there are some people who really believe this stuff (uninformed but possibly well-meaning), and the rest are just hangers-on, because it’s the fringe side of a currently popular subject. Kinda like ‘it’s cool to be different.’

Only in this case it’s just ignorance. For God’s sake, Copernicus proved the planets revolve around the sun in the 1500s, and he didn’t have a calculator, computer, or much of anything. And now we have these mouth-breathers wasting valuable oxygen, trying to disprove something we already know (and can scientifically prove) is true.

F*ck you, Kim Kardashian. I blame the dumbing down of this country mostly on you and your awful family. As my female and Kardashian-loving 20-something neighbor famously said a few years ago: ‘I hate knowledge!’ Sadly, that’s an actual quote.

Elon Musk better hurry up and colonize Mars.

Occam's razor (also Ockham's razor; Latin: lex parsimoniae "law of parsimony") is a problem-solving principle attributed to William of Ockham (c. 1287–1347), who was an English Franciscan friar, scholastic philosopher, and theologian. His principle states that among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.

I mean, this is probably my second favorite "rule" to go by in this world, right behind the golden rule. Both are actually beautifully simple.

I mean, you have overwhelming evidence pointing to a spherical planet. I mean that word as strongly as I possibly can. The only thing that could ever hope to disprove it is plainly the drive to disprove it through any means necessary.

In other news:

Mike Hughes said the launch will take place sometime next week on private property, albeit still in Amboy, Calif., an unincorporated community in the Mojave Desert along historic Route 66.

“It's still happening. We're just moving it three miles down the road,” Hughes told The Washington Post on Friday.

“I don't see [the launch] happening until about Tuesday, honestly,” he said. “It takes three days to set up. . . . You know, it's not easy because it's not supposed to be easy.”

He also thought there was an impenetrable wall of radiation in space so no way we could have gone to the moon.

Yes i do but i don't have a for sure opinion.
How could one not have a for sure opinion?

Where does the earth begin or end?

Were are the edges?

How do planes, ships and submarines that circumnavigate the globe, horizontally an vertically?

How come the entire globe isn't all bright and dark at the same time?

It doesn't stand up to the barest scrutiny. You have to be a real conspiracy nut or something, to believe it.
