This part^^After playing Crackdown for myself, it is one more example of the crap show gaming media bias. I have much harsher language but I am going to restrain myself.
In conclusion, the low score reviews are trash.

So your world revolves around my mood? That is pretty pathetic.See what I mean? Whenever I need a pick me up, I come to this site to see what side of the bed Menace woke up on and have a cup of coffee. By time I'm done, I just feeling like blowing my brains out. Works like a charm. Lol

Then again, your Mcmasters, a shining knight upon the fanboy steed, glorifying anything and all things while ignoring the blatently obvious.
Typical Mcmasters, starts s*** and gets stuck.Ohh...good one, my dude. Smh.
Ironically that is the last thing this game does. This game certainly stirs up emotions.
This game suffers from "massive damage" syndrome.
- Ms was reeling from XB1 reception
- They latched on to cloud technology to help shift the narrative
- Crackdown had a demo that they could showcase the technology
- They tried to make a game from the demo, instead of having the game concept first
- Crackdown got saddled with unrealistic expectations and hype/hate
- Development seems to have suffered from having to make an unworkable demo work and SP just copied the original
- Those of us that enjoyed the original are happy to essentially have a remaster of the game
- Those expecting more are disappointed or had their hate bias confirmed.
I enjoy it though, it's fun, fun is an emotion...I think.Ironically that is the last thing this game does.
UK. Thats the word. Yep. Which is......I dont even.Is it true the game only sold 4000 in the UK?
The Cloud destruction DEFINITELY works. Its not what we got back in 2014, but whats there is impressive. We got the cloud tech demo and it works, it's called the Wrecking Zone MP.
That's only physical copies though. But still pathetic numbers. Is it true the game only sold 4000 in the UK?
GP, yup!I know the UK numbers are a bit skewed, they compare it to only being 10% of CD2's but digital is a much bigger percentage of sales these days. I'm sure when you account for that the sales are still well below what it was back then but I don't think it's just 10% of CD2's sales., probably more like 20% Also I don't think anyone who's playing it here bought it, aren't we all playing it on GP? Even though most of us are in North America we are likely to see similar results, especially with MS constantly doing $1.00 first month trials etc. This is my worry with GP, games that focus on mostly single player are going to do poorly and end up being pushed even further to the back burner because people will just sub for one month, finish the game and be done with it. GP as an option is fine but I hope MS isn't putting all of their eggs into that basket or GAAS is going to be all they end up doing.
GP, yup!
I think the U.S. numbers will be much higher. I'll say though, Sheesh! I dont think a game has ever been so hated - not that I've seen. As a fan of the game, I'm seriously hoping the UK #'s are just a small piece to a much larger picture. I'm like, holding out hope the way you do when watching that flick Million Dollar Baby.
Even after she looses limbs and the ability to speak, I was like, "Nope! She's not gonna die. SHE'S NOT GONNA DIE!! SHE CAN COME BACK FROM THIS, SHE'S NOT GONNA DIE!!"
"She's dead..."
"NOPE! SHE CAN STILL MAKE IT, FUK THAT!!!"
hope his family doesn't check metacritic.
Jk, that's touching.
I dunno. I'm seriously at a loss as to why this wasnt better received. Its not the best game ever, but whats here is a great time - just a blast to play and fuk s*** up!I don't think it's really hated, I just think it's a vocal minority online (which is usually the case) that makes it seem that way. The series was never a huge seller anyway or they'd have done a sequel much sooner, the first game didn't hit 2 million and the 2nd barely made it over 1 million. I know the review scores don't help but I just don't think the audience for this game is all that big, I'm enjoying it and I would have paid $40 for it without GP and felt fine with that, I don't think it's worth $60. I know that CD2 has a higher Metacritic score and that's a shame, this is a better game than 2 was.

Honestly, I think a game where your super cop also has a regular life as a civilian accomplishing things around the city. Maybe a story where he/she stumbles onto an underground organization. Think GTA but with future cops for an occupation. Doesnt sound like much but I think that would be a pretty cool! You can see GTA roots in this game in a major way. I seriously hope Microsoft doesnt put this one back on the shelf.I think a 7 would be on the high side of fair but still fair only because it doesn't seem like a lot of effort went into going beyond what the older game was. If it was a sequel to a game that came out 2 or 3 years ago that'd be one thing but it's been 9 years since CD2 and a lot has changed. Hell a Saints Row game came along and did Crackdown just as well if not better than this game does. Just making a game that doesn't suck shouldn't earn an 8 IMO, that's territory for games that are great and offer something special, this game isn't deep enough to fall into that range IMO.
I do wonder what potential another sequel would have, they have to come up with new stuff to do or it's just going to feel like a repeat. Maybe start off with these powers fully upgraded and then add things like full flight as an agility upgrade, eliminate the need for guns with actual elemental powers, make you immune to basic weapons and make it so if a car runs into you on the street it reacts like it ran into a steel pole etc. They really could just advance this series to a Superhero game without dropping the name, just say the agent advanced beyond what he/she was designed to do. I know other games have done that whole strip you of your powers and make you relearn the same things before but that's an outdated way of doing things now and this series basically makes you upgrade the same exact things over and over and that's not a recipe for future success.
Another thing they need to do for this series is make the city a place you actually care about, there is no personality in this city other than the lights and colors, the NPC's don't talk enough and don't offer enough variety in their behavior, nothing funny going on or anything like that, there are no sort of character NPC's that stick out in any way.
Sadly I don't think this IP is going to get another shot after what seems to both poor sales and poor critical response.

Actualoy not all that surprising. Only physical numbers. Is a short 8 to 10 hour game. Is on gamepass. Is it true the game only sold 4000 in the UK?
