Honestly very surprising, but congrats to Phil for turning the ship around

I mentioned this several times before and i will continue to stand by that. I don't like engaging too much in the way a platform is going to perform as the outcomes can be very uncertain. But the one thing I've noticed during my entire time gaming in this industry is how wishy-washy a player's perception can be in just a splits moment. It is how this industry behaves on a constant.

Having said that, PR and performance are two completely different levels of generating and sustaining an audience. And while there is still much to discover - especially on PlayStation's end as far as what we currently don't know of that platform, that performance is going to matter more at the end of the day. And here, is where the real numbers and mind share will count.

Doesn't mean it is worth it, though.

AA games are usually dubbed so because of budget and production value. A AA game with AAA production values isn't AA anymore. What is weird is production value suffers because of the lower budget. So, are we really going to notice if they are AA or AAA when playing? That obviously assumes they can do AAA production value on smaller budgets.

MS points to Hellblade as a AA game with AAA production values, there just isn't enough game there in that title to keep me interested, it looked great for an indie game but was boring as hell and I couldn't take playing it for more than a few hours before I gave up on it and before anyone says anything about me not liking it because it's an xbox game that was before an xbox version was even announced it was PS4 exclusive at the time lol.

More fuel to the delay/over clocking rumor:

No it doesn't, not one bit and you should let that s*** go, maybe very early on they planned on a 2019 launch but things changed years ago. It's RDNA2, it has hardware accelerated RT, AMD announced they have GPU's coming that will run clocks even higher than the one in PS5 etc this is all part of AMD's roadmap, GitHub was testing incomplete hardware, people who actually work as developers have confirmed this.

That is a poll asking about deals, their twitter has basically been a running ad for Xbox Series X/S since pre-orders started so it's not really surprising that people want them to keep it up. They have done a few for PS5 as well but nowhere near as many tweets about it. Also there are a ton of polls about which consoles people actually are interested in buying on twitter and the results are very different from this one.

So Hellblade 2 is gonna be a carbon copy of the first game?

Has never been appealing to me.
Does look like one day it has potential to be a AA franchise though.

And yet I thought it was great. Great atmosphere, nice combat system, cool puzzles, good story, visuals were good.

It is like me saying AAA isn't isn't good enough because I thought Red Dead Redemption 2 was boring.

I just didn't find enough anything in it, walk around and listen to her whisper and occasionally fight someone and see some ghosts or something. It was just too slow and plodding to me, it's not a game with a ton of content either is my point it's not about the visuals.

Go right ahead, those clowns "heard" the consoles were going to be $600 as well. You can't just throw together what the PS5 is in a year if you believe that you are crazy.

Who cares? Even if they did give a full remaster for free, that’s just something nice they did. you should never expect people to work for free.

You put dreams but leave out Ori?

Below is a game made with passion & mostly in-house "AA" studio in France. The top is made by "AAA" Ubisoft, outsource to their Indian branch (nothing wrong, but obviously not yet the level for "AAA" game). Apparently, they are fan of 343, claiming the look of the game is (wait for it) art direction.

The issue of many "AAA" studios is $ obsession & cutting corners by outsourcing, which often compromised quality.

You're judging the new game based on the first. Even though the first was an indie title and the new has a budget.

I wasn't judging it I said that's what they said they are going to work on, the tweet that started all of this was another BS tweet that Rollins posted talking about 5 AAA games a year, MS says themselves they are going to do more AA games.

That's not the point, AA as a target is one thing and yes AA can be great games but generally speaking they aren't as long and or as big in scale, Ubisoft is a publisher with development houses of varying size under their umbrella, the studio working on that remake isn't one of their main studios.

But I could say tge same for games like Division 2 or Destiny. AAA games that lack content. Content is relative to what the game is and is trying to acheive. Hellblade is a heavily character driven story. Expecting fights every 10 seconds just doesn't fit and ultimately disrupts narrative pacing.

Oh I get all that I just found it too slow to keep my interest that's all, I know a lot of other people love it.

I don't trust DF's knowledge for such things.

A lot of times they seem to just read the same stuff on forums we do then when they mention it publicly without citing a source people take it as confirmation of the BS they read on the forum when really it was just that same info being repeated lol. That $600 rumor was BS and they seemed to believe it, I don't think anyone with half a brain believed either company was really going to put out a $600 console.
