I think Double Dragon II was like $80 on the NES. Or $70. Can't recall. I do recall when I was a kid and my mom made my dad buy me Double Dragon at Toys R Us. He was pissed.
I remember my older brother telling me how he paid $150 to import Ranma 1/2 fighting game for NES. I remember having so much fun with both him & the game as a little lad. He was so cool back then, now all I hear from him is complaints about Home Renovations and Taxes.

You keep getting examples... $70+ games is nothing new.
Again I ask...Who said anything about $70 being a mainstay?
Current gen games are going to all be $70. That’s a mainstay.

Games have been, for the most part, locked in at $60 for 3-4 gens.

My original post said, I am surprised games were not $70 a decade ago. A person could surmise that I was referring to $70 being the new normal price, as it is this gen, and has not been for ... again... 3-4 gens (it wasn’t a mainstay even before that, but irrelevant)

Not sure if this is a prime example of conversations just not flowing over text, but damn. I truly didn’t think this was an outlandish take.

Time flies when you are having fun. That's life unfortunately.

Many games will be $70 here on out.
It doesn't matter if they were $60 recently if one can go back to the early 90's and find $70+ games and add inflation $70 isn't really a big deal 🤷‍♂️

You are literally agreeing with my point that it isn’t a big deal, lol. Good talk my brotha. 👍

It's a new thing to those who are ignorant on the matter.

$70 games are not new. We have seen this sporadically- very sporadically. MOST games costing $70 is new, or at best has not been seen in 4 plus gens. That’s just a fact. Glad we both agree it isn’t a big deal, lol.

Kiii sta mah haaar!

That's my Vince Neil impersonation. He sucks. I laughed through the trailer cause it gave me a horrible flashback to a Crue concert.

It’s not getting any better, sadly

I am seeing complaints by people calling it "Battlefield Legends". I've only played a few games of Apex Legends, so I can't really comment on the comparisons.

So it's $70 for "Next Gen" and $60 for PC which will also be "Next Gen". That's funny. I feel for the console side on social media complaining about the price difference between the two. At greenmangaming you can preorder the Origin version for $52 right now.
