Numbers to back up those GOTY claims, or are you...let me guess...just guessing based on anecdotal evidence or what you think you remember?Last gen was mainly the years of the PS3 as Sony had more GOTY award winning higher rated 1st party offerings.
Curious. What does Valliance's PS3 GOTY point have to do with a thread about Xbox One selling 2M units?Numbers to back up those GOTY claims, or are you...let me guess...just guessing based on anecdotal evidence or what you think you remember?
Just to be clear, I could give two old craps over who beats who in sales numbers, so long as things are generally competitive. But I find it extremely irritating when people claim things based on limited or anecdotal evidence and treat them like incontrovertible fact. Sorry. You don't get to do that. This includes the clown who said "Hey, Target has LITERALLY hundreds and they're not selling. I bet PS4s are sold out." The stupidity of making a statement like that is only trumped by the pride felt about being right that accompanied it.
No the PS3 outsold the 360 every year except one I think..And lost pretty much every month but one in unit sales...

Instead of being your normal ignorass self why not trace back and see why?Curious. What does Valliance's PS3 GOTY point have to do with a thread about Xbox One selling 2M units?
Was just wondering. No need for personal insults.Instead of being your normal ignorass self why not trace back and see why?
It hasn't even out 19 days.
Sony's announcement was 2.1 million after 19 days.
Roughly the same amount per day. Why are you inventing fake math and numbers?
Not that it really matters... Both are selling out. What's being proven is they have roughly equal production rates.
Qbert: I find sales analysis interesting. You apparently find telling everyone in every thread that nothing matters interesting. To each their own.
Trying to pump em up eh lolzWas just wondering. No need for personal insults.
Sony was posting numbers from what was sold in 2 weeks.
Gaf has a breakdown of the numbers why don't YOU do the research before doing your usual finger pointing that somebody is lying?
I forgot about Titanfall being in spring. Good point! MS really has done a great job covering their bases with all the exclusives so far. I'm very impressed by the post 360 turnaround. It's like they finally get it after a long generation of Halo and Gears. It would be cool to see some indie exclusives as well this time. They really remind me of OG Xbox era so far, with all the exclusives. Just get Turn 10 to do a Rallysport and all is good. (no Dice) :-P
If I got the dates right, X1 has been 18 days, PS4 has been 17 days with the latest MS and Sony data they provided.Xbox One hasn't been out for 20 days. That's a made up number.
Sony's sales were for 16 days of sales. 16 x's 150k would be 2.4 million, they announced 2.1 million. 16 days is not 2 weeks.
It is closer to 130k per day. I had the wrong date as their PR was from the 3rd and most articles didn't mention the data was for November.
Either way.. the 20 days thing is just flat out wrong for Xbox One as it wasn't out 20 days at the time of the announcement.. and 150k was certainly a made up number.
So again, why are you making up numbers? If you want to claim you got them from GAF that's fine, they are still wrong.

Fair enough. I interpreted "as of Dec 1" to include that day. Regardless, a one day difference isn't a huge difference.Well Sony's announcement was "as of December 1st." So that includes the 15th of November through the 30th, 16 days of sales.
The multiple country thing doesn't matter much either though. It's not like releasing in more countries magically increases your production supply.
110k vs. 130k is a decent difference though. 17% or so.
Could be Sony "selling out faster," had more units piled up, or slightly higher production capacity.
PS4 is undeniably killing it popularity wise in Europe though. I think if both consoles production rates were unlimited PS4 would have had quite a bit larger of a launch just considering how Europe has such a hard-on for it.
Well said Anderson.I'm glad it's turning out to be a close race, at least so far. If it had been a blowout out of the gate, I don't think that would've been good for the site or for game fans. It might've put a grin on Sony fans' faces, but otherwise, I think it would've been bad. You would have a lopsided contest, with one side dominating the other, one side a clear winner and the other a "loser."
A close race is always more interesting than a blowout. A fight between two closely-matched fighters is always a better fight than one where there is a knockout in the first round.

No doubt, PS4 should be winning regardless. Not even factoring in price, hype or staggered dates.... PS4's 19 more countries alone should extend the lead further until X1 launches in more countries in 2014.... unless some kind of production meltdown for Sony happens. But as long as both are humming similar in production, PS4 should theoretically gain more ground until more X1 territories are launched. And Japan should be a slam dunk for PS4. PS4 will probably outsell X1 10:1.Well Sony's announcement was "as of December 1st." So that includes the 15th of November through the 30th, 16 days of sales.

IMO, given all the circumstances, PS4 should be ahead by more at this time but it's actually pretty close.
I get what you're saying. I'm just thinking that the more and more countries available for PS4 may influence some potential X1 buyers waiting to just skip it and go for PS4 as it's there. A shifting of sentiment. Even if it means getting on a PS4 wait list, I'm sure many gamers will follow the hype. Not really, at least not until MS stops selling out in their regions.
Both are selling out their production capacity. Doesn't matter if they ship to 1 country or 100 countries.
Sony has more potential to continue to sell out theoretically, but it'll take a while before that comes to fruition.
Your Math is kinda off on this.. again.. releasing in more countries doesn't magically produce more units to sell. It just increases the amount of people you are selling too. So as long as MS is selling out Sony doesn't have some advantage being in more regions.
Not really surprising both Sony and MS are selling whatever they can get onto store shelves and will do so throughout the holiday season. Don't think any of the launch numbers mean much in the grand scheme of head to head competition-- save that both launched successfully. After all it is a marathon and not a sprint.
Were there people that honestly thought that MS' launch would be a complete failure?
And what direction would that be?... They already HAVE multimedia functions at full steam ahead, as well as Kinect included... yet STILL have the exclusives, while competition is lacking in that dept, IMO. How can they change directions, I'm curious? In the beginning of the xbox 360s launch they were all about the exclusives also.
they will use the gamers to get the xbox one through the door, Than change directions.
Doubt it as they know that is extremely necessary. In fact they have more studios now working on new IPs than they had during the 360 lifecycle.probably spend less exclusives.
Yes, yes there were. And I usually don't called consolewar fans or anyone out. But you know
