What movies have you seen recently?

Watched Malignant last night and I think I love it. It's so odd compared to his other stuff and feels so unconventional. Initially when it was done that was my thoughts, but after thinking back on it more it moved into the loved it category.

I think I saw a teaser for this once who knows how long ago, so I really couldn't remember anything about what it was supposed to be. It has a crazy beginning before going into a more normal horror movie, before going into straight slasher maybe? Reading on Reddit it seems like the thought is this movie is a big budge B-movie horror which makes sense. Like it's so over the top goofy.

Also noticed all the main role female actors have great butts and Wan provides ample footage.

I haven’t seen that one in forever. Loved that movie around release. Wtf ever happened to her career? She was smokin.

She married Dion Phaneuf, the worst captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs of all time.

They're probably living in PEI growing potatoes and rich as all hell.

I've never watched the Girl Next Door. Should I?

I watched The Green Knight with Dev Patel, it's really good and just refreshingly different, I might watch it again (for me, watching a movie more than once equals really really good)

The Sisters Brothers ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4971344/ ) Very good, excellent condition ++ lol.

I guess I'm after stuff right now that isn't just the same old. There's something lacking in most new content these days and it's hard to track down what I want to watch. Both these movies were incredibly satisfying. Sisters Brothers is a few years old, never heard about it. Love the cast but doubted the chemistry, the chemistry is great.

I really liked Sisters Brothers rented it when it originally came out.

I’d give Girl Next Door a watch. One of the better teen comedies of the last couple decades.

I'm a weirdo that thinks some of the more "boring" movies can actually be the most fulfilling movies.

I really enjoyed the Green Knight and appreciate a movie that has depth to it's intentions.

I also think Barry Lyndon is one of Kubricks' best movies, and yet it might be one of the most boring movies I've ever seen, it's just the rest of it that is so good.

The Hateful Eight would be a good modern example. So f***ing good, yet no surprise it could bore some viewers.

Really liked Hateful Eight, but that was due to great acting and dialogue. Green Knight was one of the more beautiful movies you'll ever see, but god damn was it boring and way too f***ing long. The last 30ish minutes were great, but most of the rest was average at best IMO.

Back on topic, watched Many Saints of Newark on Saturday. I'd say that overall I liked it, but there was a lot I did not. Loved all the foreshadowing in the movie, and seeing young Sil, Paulie, and p**** was great. Thought Young Sil was fun and loved how they kept all his over the top mannerisms in place.

I however did not like the retconning of the way Dickie was killed. TV trays were there, but the fact that it was Junior that put the hit out was dumb and they did not spend NEARLY enough time focusing on their rivalry. I get it that Junior was jealous of Dickie between Livia, Johnny Boy, and Tony all respecting him more, but it just didn't have the proper build.

Not great, not bad, it just kind of exists as a movie and that's fine.

Edit: Forgot to mention that Junior's actor was great too. He did a really fine job of saying all of his classic lines when he would get injured or be upset or whatever. The fact that he dropped a

'You never had the makings of a varsity athlete'

made the movie for me.

The Descent. Started off the spooky season with original Halloween, so wanted to check out something I hadn't seen before. I've heard a lot about it. It was decent. Wasn't really sure what it was going into it, so for those in the same boat I'll put in spoilers...

The creatures reminded me of Pandorum in a way. Pandorum however is god tier compared to The Descent.

It was mega hyped when it came out, and I liked it, but definitely thought it was overrated. Solid 3.5/5 though

its not really a retcon. If you go back and watch that episode you can tell something doesn't add up especially with the way the cop doesn't seem to know what Christopher is talking about. Plus the cop could have been the one Junior used. It was just Tony manipulating Christopher to gain his loyalty
