Got so many glitches and bugs playing last night I just might wait for the patch this week(hopefully) on Series X...the big Green Mech that I cant beat so far on normal took me 2 tries before he even appeared after the cutscene,he just wasnt there lol,some dead end quest,bringing a bag back for a quest does not track and I must of walked around 20 minutes outside a town with no ennemies anywhere lol...
Dead end bugs are usually because you have to go to that area in the main mission first. Should be a message about that in the game.

lol I think I got a good glitch for once...in that long plant where you meet the Spider Boss or mini Boss,I died 2 times,decided to go through all the dungeon again to level up and when I got to the Boss again,I threw some missiles and this big dude came flying in,killing it and got the whole cut scene and completion of the quest...pff,I'll take it :p
 
I cant do the Data Miner mission where you have to stay alive for 3 minutes against waves and waves of ennemies,even on Easy...the 2 sidequest I have left are level 22 and 23,the 2 others I cant do for now,and the ''Rescue Ubi'' quest is glitched for everyone...level 17 now...oh well.

I just rescued ubi last night. Spider bots and mono bot really help manage crowds

I remember that took me like 10 or more attempts I think. Definitely a rough one.

Data Miner was a rough one alright. Took me a couple of attempts to get that one. I kept mixing up my abilities/augments until i got a build that worked. One of the worst things to do is to stay static with your build if you hit a hard point. I had no problems with Rescue Ubi quest. Worked fine first time.
 


If you're on Xbox consoles you should automatically get the latest update but if you want to check and be sure, check the file info in your My Games and Apps. One line of text should read as "CurveDigital.TheAscent_2.1.4.0_neutral__1ezqdnbhnc70m." If you're playing the Windows 10 version, when you check under the App Settings, you should find a line of text reading as "CurveDigital.TheAscent_2.1.4.0_x64__1ezqdnbhnc70m."

The below fixes have been deployed for players across all platforms (Steam, Windows 10, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S/X)

Our team is continuing to work hard on improving the game and we are very grateful for all the support and feedback from our players.

Stability (all platforms)

  • Fixes to improve performance in DX12, also with Ray Tracing.
  • Note to Players: on first running of the update, there will be a 20-25 second ‘stall’ on loading to Main Menu to allow some caching to happen before you play. This is a one time event.
  • Ray Tracing is now available to Players on the Windows Store.
  • Improved loading in of NPCs
  • CPU performance mode for lower-end PCs
  • Numerous instances of ‘one time’ crashes have been fixed in both Single Player & Coop on ALL Platforms. (some other instances remain, we are working hard to resolve these for the next update).
  • Local Coop fixes where Player 1 and Player 2 have controller focus issues on certain menus.
  • Numerous other crash-fixes have been made to improve the stability of both local and online Coop, including fixes when disconnecting controllers, issues when 3 Players start a new game, and fixes when the internet connection becomes unstable.
  • Fixed an issue where in certain circumstances a black screen would appear at the end of Mission 12.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes it takes too long to return to the Main Menu after gameplay.
  • Fixed issues where Area loading is slower for the Client joining the game after the Host is using the Taxi.
  • Fixed some Weapon replication issues in Online Coop.
  • Fixed some issues around cross Platform hot-joining where Clients had trouble connecting to the Host
  • Fix for crash seen in some cases at the end of Main Mission 04 (Spiderboss fight)
  • Fix for crash when losing internet connection during the 'create game' sequence

Save Progress (all platforms)


  • Introduced a new system to circumvent situations where save files could become corrupted.
  • Fixes to situations in Coop where the Host leaving the game could cause the Client to lose progress.
  • Fixes to situations in Coop where Players may experience progression blockers in certain situations.
  • Fixed the issue where a Client's items would unequip after a Host disconnects.
  • Fixed an issue where a Client may lose connection when hotjoining a game in progress.
Gameplay (all platforms)

  • Fixed an Achievement issue where you could unlock Main Mission and Side Mission under incorrect conditions.
  • Fixed an issue where the mission objective during ‘Go To Grinder’ in Mission 2 would not update.
  • The issue where multiple bosses could spawn has been fixed. e.g. Papa Feral, Megarachnoid (Spider Boss), Gun-Dolph.
  • Fixed the Casino Courier Side Missions 1 - 5 where you could sometimes be unable to proceed due to missing NPCs.
  • Fixed the custom camera for ‘Dark Horse’ Side Mission.
  • Fixed the custom camera for Bartender in Stimtown.
  • Fixed the situation where sometimes ‘Dark Horse’ could not be completed due to the NPC remaining in a frightened state.
  • Fixed an issue where the Volatile Augmentation when used on neutrals had no effect.
  • Fixed an issue where the Siege Mech in the Prison could despawn after a Player died.
  • Fixed the issue where the Snooze Dealer’s Journal map icon was a white square.
  • Fixed damage scaling on the Pocket Mech minigun to make it more powerful as you level up.
  • Allows the use of certain augmentations while rolling.
  • Balanced cost/cooldown/efficiency of Life Transfer, Neutron Beam and Overclock
Translation (all platforms)

  • Lots of fixes have been made to address instances where English would appear instead of the correct language.
  • Further work is continuing to improve the quality of the translations as well as further general bug fixes.
  • Fixed an issue in Japanese where text overlapped in the intro cut-scene.
Assorted other fixes (all platforms)

  • Fixed an issue where the death-screen replaced the SFX & VO after defeating the Megarachnoid.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes in Dreamworld, shooting SFX without enemies being present could be heard.
  • Cyberdeck visible in Journal
  • News now plays in the Taxi
  • Film Grain toggle added to the Graphics menu
  • Fixed the Dismemberer shooting SFX that could be missing for Clients.
  • Fixed previews for Auto Turret and Pocket Mech in Vendors.
  • Fixed Cluster 13’s Metrolink entrances collision box.
  • Various UI fixes.

Nice,hope it fixes the Ubi mission on console...gained an extra level,went for most yellow chests,a lot contained an extra skill point,hopefully I should be good for the Data Miner mission now,might even be level 20 by then.

I tried hanging back at first it didn't work out. So i went aggressive and headed the incoming waves off at the doors made it much easier.
 
I've finished it. Really enjoyed it but they need to working on the pacing. I can see why lots of people couldn't get into it. I felt the same way for the first few hours but then at some point it just seems to really get going, I hope they follow this with a sequel. Tons of great ideas here that can be improved on in the next version.

Finished the game today,that last Boss was so crazy in a good and bad way that I admit beating it on Easy,even then it was close lol...overall though,great game,amazing graphics and environnments and art style,liked it a lot...I hope they make a sequel.
 
I tried getting into this and couldn’t, and something about it hurt my eyes, like a weird jitter/frame-refresh-rate
I loved the look of the game but the gameplay let it down, I didn't end up finishing it although I think I'm pretty close to the end. The cover shooting never seemed to work right and the odd difficulty swings made it hard to enjoy at times.
 
Games been great, and have been loving just about every moment of it. Been playing a lot of online coop with a friend.

I love the graphics and world, but the gameplay design and shooting are a pretty major step down from similar style Housemarque games like Dead Nation and Alienation. A great looking game like this mixed with Housemarque controls would be incredible.

The visuals/aesthetic are fantastic, but there was something about, maybe, the colours used during the first few parts that was literally hurting my eyes, I went through their color blindness filters and it continued. Like when I went to go see avatar in theaters, the 3d was triggering my eyes to keep things and focus lol came out with sore eyes and a minor headache lol still loved it though
