While I think it might be a little early to declare an overall winner, I think this is a great time to start the discussion with most people being home for at least a little bit. I think after a few more weeks, most of us will be able to declare a winner but let's get the ball rolling.

Some games I really liked this year:

Bloodborne
Splatoon
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
The Order 1886
Halo 5, eh.

I still want to play The Witcher 3, Dying Light, and maybe even Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and Tomb Raider. Let's get the discussion going. What games have you really liked this year?

The Witcher 3 for me. With Rocket League as a surprising close #2.

And if you wanted to know what Time thought was the best

10. Splatoon (Wii U)
09. Undertale (PC)
08. Batman: AK (PS4/XB1/PC)
07: Ryan North's: To be or not to be (PC, Android, iOS)
06: Super Mario Maker (Wii U)
05: Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PC, PS4, XB1)
04: Her Story (iOS, Android, PC)
03: MGSV: The Phantom Pain (PC, PS4, XB1)
02: Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4, lol)
01: Prune (iOS)

For me personally, no game has even come close:

Fallout 4

1 Witcher 3
2 halo 5
3. Blops 3.. Lol.. definitely my favorite competitive shooter for the year.

RiseoftheTombRaiderandHalo5andForza6andGearsUE.
I couldnt choose between them so I just joined them all into one game of the year...
"GearsUE"

I see this thread is already off to a good start....
Okay if you disagree guys but don't make it a point to call people out on their opinions/choices.

Anyway:

Fallout 4
Witcher 3
Maybe Rise of the Tomb Raider (haven't finished it yet)

My top 3 right now are Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fallout 4, and Rocket League. I haven't played Witcher 3 or Metal Gear so I can't include those 2.

You know, I totally forgot about Ori and the Blind Forest. A fantastic gem of a game.

Sure we do if we can be friendly when we do it.

^ "Fallout 4"

I didn't see this coming! ;)

1. Witcher 3
2.Tales from the Borderlands episode 2-5
3. Ori and the blind forest
4. Fallout 4
5. Bloodborne
6. Metal gear solid 5 phantom pain

Somebody doesn't get good drops

At least my picks have high ratings :)

Maybe others don't need meta scores to justify their choices? Also I'm not seeing any games with low scores being picked.

Tough choice between Rise of The Tomb Raider, Fallout 4 and Ori and the Blind Forest for me.

Witcher 3
ORI
Forza 6
Rise Of the Tomb Raider
Halo 5
Fallout 4

If I had to pick a GOTY from these probably Witcher 3. Ori is really, really close though, I can't remember another game that has made me so happy inside.

Is Fallout 4 really worth the money? If so, I'll get it digitally right now. Can someone give me a run down, and their honest opinion? I hear performance isn't that great. I'm not a stickler for a few frame drops or pixels, but I understand the performance can get really bad.

It's worth 5 times the money in my opinion because that's how much time you're likely to get out of it. I have X1 version and graphics are fine and I've had 0 performance issues so far. Maybe there have been framerate drops but not that I could tell.

Game itself is Fallout at its core, if you've played and enjoyed other Fallouts you know what you're in for with this one. If you haven't played Fallout before it's a massive open post apocalyptic world where you can do whatever you want. Atmosphere is as good as its gets in any game, and gunplay is heavily improved.

It's fine. Bethesda RPG's are so good the performance flaws and game crashing bugs don't even matter (and FO4 has been very stable and frame rate is good 90% of the time). The world looks great and you will get addicted as f*** and play for hours and barely achieve anything. You'll be playing the game for months and loving it.

Massive open world games. Hmm... Don't have the time to invest in those these days. Just my luck it'll be great and I'll be in trouble with the boss and get behind in my work. Like I need that s***.....

Totally worth it.
