Buy outs and consolidations....THIS deal unlike the Bethesda one though also brings up some anti-trust issues.
Industry consolidation is not a good thing IMHO.
I was wondering the same thing. I didn't think the Disney/Fox deal would go through but it did so MSFT has a good chance that this deal will be allowed.THIS deal unlike the Bethesda one though also brings up some anti-trust issues.

It definitely isn't but its hard to get people to put console wars aside or trolling aside and discuss how this impacts gaming for better or worse.THIS deal unlike the Bethesda one though also brings up some anti-trust issues.

Un exciting, yes. Just like Bethesda this is essentially same stuff different owner. The best we can hope for is some long standing PC only games come to Xbox. This is crazy, but uninteresting/un-exciting?
The WB studios would be more interesting.
Guess we will have to wait and see.
This might be the gen where Microsoft forces Sony's hand to also buy a publisher outright. MS's already bought 2 lol.
Square Enix, Capcom, Take-Two, Bandai Namco ?
It's going to be pricey though and Sony just doesn't have the deep pockets MS does so I don't know if they can get it done.
Take Two would be half of Sony's value to purchase most likely. If going by cash on hand alone, Take Two might be out of reach for Sony. Square Enix, Capcom and Bandai Namco are fair game assuming MS doesn't make them an offer next year.
Yup. Take-Two and EA will remain third party. Could potentially see a scenario where Ubi-Soft is bought out by someone, but I doubt it. Half the reason for Activision Blizzard was due to massive industry scandal and their brand was getting slaughtered.Take Two would be half of Sony's value to purchase most likely.
Doesn't really do that much for game pass especially compared to what it costYou guys what if MS next acquisition isn't some of the names we're talking about. What if MS make Tim Sweeny an offer he can't refuse and buys out his share of Epic. Not only would they own Fortnight but the Unreal engine as well. Then I think the anti trust lawyers ears might perk up.

Well maybe not half, but there's a decent chance it wouldn't have happened without that.
It is worth mentioning that Activision/Blizzard have been a big mess even outside of the big scandal. Blizzard can't get a game out at all, even an Overwatch 2 that isn't even a real sequel. Who knows what's going on with Diablo.
