Sony showed ZERO exclusives releasing this year.
Sony showed ZERO exclusives with meaningful dates.
Sony showed a pre-rendered trailer for FF7 (which isn't even exclusive)
Sony showed ONE good looking/new title/IP (Horizon), but no release dates

Yeah, Sony had some exclusives to show, but most of it was hand-waiving, and more promises. I still can't believe Soony fans are actually excited about TLG. It's been in dev hell for a decade. There's a reason games go there, and if they ever manage to get out, they never live up to the hype. Quote me now, TLG won't live up to the hype. Not by a long-shot. It'll probably be a low 80's metacritic at best.

Microsoft is killing it on the exclusives, especially the high-grade exclusives. Right now, MS is so far ahead, I don't know if Soony can eve catch up.

More people seemed to prefer Sonys conference so I guess they are doing fine. They will just have to work harder to get your love.

Sony by a nose. They both had good conferences. Neither were "A" material, but they were both solid. I expected MS to walk away the clear winner, but Sony did better than I anticipated. Even though their games may be farther off, Sony put a lot of smiles on my face, whereas, during the MS conference, I was interested but basically like this :meh: (though the BC announcement was a nice surprise).

Nintendo was a sad, distant third. Really nothing much going on there at all. I guess we have to assume Zelda is shifting to the NX, and this was the Wii U's last gasp.

I consider the Ubi, Bethesda, EA, and S-E conferences in a different category than MS, Sony, and Nintendo. Among those, Bethesda was the king.

Games releasing this year: Winner Xbox (H5, FM6, FL, TR, GU)
Games releasing next year: Winner Xbox (G4, CD, QB - and that's just what's known so far)
Surprises for fans: Winner Xbox (Back compat is huge, and it's free.)
Accessories: Winner Xbox (ultimate Elite controller)
System updates: Winner Xbox (UI upgrade, Cortana integration, etc.), not to mention Windows 10, streaming games to
VR/AR: Winner Xbox (HoloLens demo was awesome, and Valve/Oculus easily trump anything Sony's doing with Morpheus)

FF7 isn't even PS4 exclusive. Shenmue may or may not happen at all, but it's certainly not coming out next year. Horizon looks great, but no dates, and not much information other than a pretty demo.

There's just nothing Sony wins on... except maybe reviving old promises they failed to live up to in the past?

Come on, seriously. Sony lost. It's obvious.

Four of the top five E3 games are PS4 console exclusive. I'd say that's a win. They also had game of the show, which is a win. They also showed more games in general, which is a win. They showed large support from Japanese publishers/developers which, I would call a win. They also received the most exclusive DLC from large third party exclusives, which my Mom tells me is a win. Oh and the PS4 is starting to distance itself graphically from the XBoxOne, which my fourth grade teacher told me was a win. Oh and Sony's show elicited the most/best reactions from the crowd which Jeff Gerstman says is a win.

But other than that, Sony didn't win anything.

Eh, I don't know about that... I'm seeing mixed opinions... and the only people who seem to clamor for a Sony victory seem to be deluded nostalgics, feeling grateful that games they looked forward to a decade or two ago are finally coming around (or in FF7's case, coming around AGAIN).

Please. It's no comparison... and anyone who thinks Sony won on substance/content is deluded. If Sony won anything, it's the hearts of the naïve.

Yeah they need to bring out all the big new IPs like Microsoft has this fall

Want to know why Flynn is delusional?

He said Microsoft "won" the part of E3 that had to do with games releasing in 2016.

He then listed three games. He listed Gears of War 4, Quantum Break, and CD (I'm not sure what that means)

He thought that those three games, one of which wasn't even at E3, beat out the entire 2016 lineup for the PS4.

I know we all say things that border on the edge sometimes but when you say dumb stuff like this, it has to stick right? I mean, it just has to.

Oh, and just to note:

Over 60% of people in this forum rated Microsoft's conference an "A"-range performance.
Not even 42% of people in this forum rated Sony's conference in the "A"-range... and Sony also had more 'fail' votes.

:)

Breaking news: Teamxbox likes Xbox

Going to break it down in how I saw it.

xbox had better show for games this year.

Sony trailers of future games looked more exciting.

Sony lack of games this year covered up by 3rd party dlc and hardcore hype for shenmue and FF7.

Mega tones. Xbox had elite controller, rare collections and backwards compat. Sony had shenmue and FF7.

Both have lots Indies.

Game of show cuphead,

Close all round. MS wins on more AAA games coming this year. Sony wins on exciting the older gamer with shenmue and FF7.

How i see it. Own both consoles and prepare to play awesome games. Everyone wins.

Watching Xbox Conference I can't really shake the feeling that I've seen all this before. Good show regardless though.

Disagree. Big time! Horizon looked good. No doubting there. However, T.R. Halo 5, Recor, Forza 6 and Gears 4 looked aces too. Not to mention the UI upgrade and HoloLense. I get the last two arent games, but still made one hell of an impression on many.

Recore was cgi and TR/Forza looked just like the last TR/Forza. The only games MS showed that appealed to gamers who don't enjoy everything so fruity and colorful was Halo 5 and Gears4. Recore seems interesting but we didn't see anything but cgi and don't know anything about it. I wasn't even excited for gears 4 but at least it looked good.

Stuff like Dream and that stupid rare pirate game don't even make it on my care meter.

What high grade exclusives are you talking about? I obviously can't say for certain but I'm willing to bet that most people who are similar to me who enjoy games like mass effect/halo/gears/horizon/uncharted don't tend to typically care for games that look like they came from Nintendos show floor. I mean obviously that's not true for all "core" gamers but I think it applies to a lot.

I don't think Microsoft showed much of anything for people like me. Granted Sony barely did much better but at least they knew how to sweet talk the fanboys with sweet promises of things they wanted. Kind of like what Microsoft did last year with my fake ass phantom dust announcement.

Add to the fact that sony showed the 2 most graphically appealing games and well...... Nothing at MS show looked as good graphically as uncharted or horizon. I think this s*** matters more than you think. Horizon wow'd people with not just setting but presentation and graphics too! nothing at ms show looked that badass and stylish and I think that goes a long way with people thinking sony won.

Ok, now you're just insulting people. Time for a break.

Kinda disappointed that Sony did not allocate time to show games coming out later this year... Until Dawn, Tomorrow Children, Amplitude, Planetside 2, Persona 5, Rocket League, Tales of Zestiria... I'm interested in them all...

I'm glad to see another Fallout, but that game is ugly as hell.

Are they still coming out this year?

Both Sony and MS didn't really do much. I wasn't wowed or anything but I do have to say that the Uncharted 4 presentation totally spanked Gears of war 4's presentation all the way back into the womb.

Talk about saving the best for last and going head to head, mano a mano, AAA vs AAA, Cash cow vs Cash cow etc, etc, etc...

I think Microsoft should pull out the big wallet and give Cliffy B what ever the man wants just to get him back in charge of Gears because that Rod guy, he f***ed it up with Judgement and now he is f***ing it up even more with gears 4 going by that horrible presentation.

I know it was just a small piece of a bigger game that was shown but still, if this was the best they had to show then they were better off with just a CGI trailer for the game instead after all it was just a debut so is not like games catch a lot of slack for showing nongameply footage during a debut.
I disagree. If you watch the trailer its has a more horror feel, slower paced and much more intense. The visuals were absolutely astounding and had an organic feel. I thought the same thing upon first watching the trailer, but then I went back and realized what they were trying to accomplish. I think Gears 4 is going to rock!

It's not Team Xbox anymore, and hasn't been for years. There are massive amounts of Soony lovers on this site.

There's 3.5 times as many comments in the Xbox Discussion as there is in the PlayStation Discussion.

Flynn, you're not taken seriously on this site because you sprinkle in a little truth with a whole bunch of inaccuracies. I'm not sure why you're getting so much wrong but you have it the wrong way around. You're supposed to sprinkle in a few inaccuracies with a whole bunch of truth. You're like one of those Nintendo die hards during Nintendo's declining relevance back in the early 2000's. All flailing with no substance.

Your whole shtick relies on people not knowing how to use Google for goodness sake.
