I disagree. If you watch the trailer its has a more horror feel, slower paced and much more intense. The visuals were absolutely astounding and had an organic feel. I thought the same thing upon first watching the trailer, but then I went back and realized what they were trying to accomplish. I think Gears 4 is going to rock!

The general consensus on Gears 4 was that it had a bad showing. It was two characters walking around the dark for 80% of the presentation until they get surprised by some generic monsters. It was certainly going for a more horror feel, but the team working on it couldn't deliver. You can hang your hat on a few things. The Gears 4 presentation isn't one of them.

This entire post is bulls***. You know better than......wait a minute. Never mind.

Let's start with the first thing I said...

Name me two titles at the MS press conference that deserve to be in this top 5.

Horizon: Zero Dawn
The Last Guardian
Shenmue 3
Final Fantasy 7R
Uncharted 4

You have to use your own algorithm that combines surprise/excitement/quality to determine what an constitutes a good E3 showing. The only thing that really comes close is Rare's pirate game.

Honestly, I'll hang my hat where I please. Im a shepherd. Not a sheep. Im good with my initial opinion. Thanks though.

I will. Only if I can use games with actual release dates and will release this year. Can I still play?

Oh, and just to note:

Over 60% of people in this forum rated Microsoft's conference an "A"-range performance.
Not even 42% of people in this forum rated Sony's conference in the "A"-range... and Sony also had more 'fail' votes.

:)

In other news, Apple employees gave Windows Phone 8 rating of D, and Surface a rating of D+. They gave iPhone a rating of A+ and iPad A+.

Blackberry owners gave Windows Phone 8 an F, and gave all Blackberry devices a rating of A+.

Yeah, Union had a 98% conversion rate from TXB, so we are mostly TXB DNA. If you look at the polls of console ownership, it's usually around 2 to 1 in favor of the Xbox. Any poll about "who won E3" or "who has the better game lineup" or "what is the Game of the Year" always turns out the same, with X1 leading PS4 by a large margin.

That's just a predictable result. Nothing wrong with it, every forum has its preferences (here's GAF poll, for comparison: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1065003 ). But it shouldn't be taken to mean anything except what it means: that this forum favors Xbox.

Either Microsoft or Sony depending on who you like more.

The two stand out games for me where cuphead and dreams, we can talk all day long about ultra awesome realistic shooters that have graphics features x/y (and i will sometime) but those two games are something else entirely, and we need far more of it.

Many forums have a preference but the ones with the most members prefer PS followed by Nintendo.

How did ps3 tie with 360 for an entire generation for the "Best games" I'd be curious how you came to that conclusion, you weren't shy about using metacritic to spin ps4, why not ps3? I'm sure it had more top rated titles right?

Well, if you can't at least agree on general common held belief, let me do the research for you.

The Xbox 360 has........35 titles rated over a 90 on Metacritic. (3.88 91+ rated games per year)
The PS3 has..................39 titles rated over a 90 on Metacritic. (4.87 91+ rated games per year)

The PS3 has a slight edge here, and the XBox360 did come out a full year sooner than the PS3. This tells us that the PS3 received more critically acclaimed games, per year, when compared to the 360.

So I guess the PS3 was a slightly better console but for all intents and purposes, we might as well call it a draw. Either way, Sony has a looooong history of delivering on its promises. I don't know why people are flailing all about saying they're about to stop.

Seems like people are happy with both Sony and MS conferences. Nintendo's was kinda bad IMO.

Bethesda had the best game and that game had the best reveal.

I liked what they showed for Xbox more for my own personal tastes and the backwards compatibility is amazing given that you can d/l any digital titles you bought in the past.

But honestly, for me all that mattered was FO4 because I'll be playing it in less that half a year and I'll be playing it for at least half a year :D

So, Fallout 4 won by a landslide and everyone can play it!

I can't wait to play this; it looks completely nuts.

Using metacritic as an overall statistical source is completely asinine. There are multiplats that are only listed/rated for a single console, sometimes the exact same game will have completely different scores depending on the sources of the scores and depending on which version they tested. Then sometimes one console will have a game reviewed by like 30 sources and the other will have a handful. Then you have some reviewers that update their scores over time, which the site doesn't account for. Some websites that drop scoring systems all together which is impossible to account for. You have websites in the mix that are platform exclusive, which rate all/most exclusive games highly and then some websites that really shouldn't even be considered a professional reviewing site.

What you're left with is a complete mess and I don't know why you guys put so much importance in that site. The data it provides is only decent for a basic comparison and if you ignore all of the goofiness I mentioned and do overall comparisons, it's pretty useless. On a per title basis, sure. Anything else and you might as well start bringing up the user reviews.

If every single game was reviewed by every single reviewing source and each platform separately, the aggregated scores would be worth mentioning. That's not the case.

Based solely on my taste in games, Microsoft had a better showing.

Never been much of a jrpg fan. Only sony games that interest me are Horizon and Uncharted.

Games i'm most excited for though goes to Fallout 4 and Ghost Recon

Horizon looks awesome. I watched the conference video again in a high quality gamersyde download video, and it visually looks awesome too. Not sure how big it is, but it certainly gives Witcher 3 a run for its money in general, and in some cases--like foliage--it stands above it.

Ghost Recon was a huge surprise. An open world Ghost Recon with seemingly no assassin creed nonsense that plagues all their open world stuff, glorious. It was also unexpected because they have Assassins creed & Siege announced 7 coming all ready.

The Uncharted demo was way too scripted for me but I'll still play it. Not sure they can top the 2nd game which was amazing apart from the last hour or so.

And as I mentioned elsewhere I would have rather seem a Crackdown demo than another Fable Legends trailer from MS.
