Are you ok with waiting for playstation AAA games...again?

Ah I can't blame developers though. Even though the PS4 is selling great, the install base (and the X1's as well) is far lower the PS3/360. If you're going to put the time/money into developing a game, I'd assume you want it to be for a system with more users.
That being said, I'm really looking forward to another God of War, but does anyone know if Sony SM is handling it? If so it might be awhile before we see anything :/. Sounds like there is a big mess over there.

now this makes sense , the install base this small isn't really as profitable obviously.

I asked you a question.

probably wasn't happy at the time, but as I said, 4.5 year development cycle versus 7 years? You would think sony and to a point MS would have had a decent launch planned.

X1 wasn't any better with Ryse and a Rushed Forza. X1 has also only had Titanfall compared to Sony's Infamous, MLB and having more downloadable titles. Sony and MS both could have did a little better up to this point with exclusives but DR3 was just a 360 up port, a quickie. Sony is about to do the same with TLOU apparently, but will probably end up looking a lot better than half the next gen games coming out this year, even if its just a asset up port.

Going off topic a bit.. just wanna say what console launches (in order) I liked the best in the last 15 years.

Xbox
PS1
Dreamcast
Xbox One
PS4
Game Cube
Xbox 360
PS3
PS2

I've been pleased with what's been released. If I had an X1, I'd feel the same.

Probably my favorite forza ever, and DR3 was really fun. Ryse I thought would suck, but was much better than expected. KI is great as well, just needs more fighters.

Idk knack and killzone? lol

either way doesn't matter, I'm having had a blast with those, looking forward to E3, more so from sony.

Thread is flame bait.
I have a question..were you okay waiting a year for aaa ps2 or get this 360 games?
Cause PS4 has a much better 1st year lineup then those consoles.

This is nothing but personal opinion mascarading as fact.

not far off from those, except, ps3 and ps4 aren't even on the list, with probably ps1 being #1

I know people with PS4 might be annoyed, but I don't care, personally. No rush. I didn't feel like either of the three consoles warranted a purchase at/near release, this time around. It's okay, I've got other games to play while the library stacks up.

Dude, it was a joke (master baiter), lighten up. ;)

:) Np, but seriously maybe I'm way off here. Its just my opinion thus far, i have no doubt sony will come storming back at year 1.5-2, but I just feel they've had plenty of time to keep us from waiting.

I just remember hearing the "ps3 has no games" arguement for years, and supposedly that was due to the architecture of the console. Well I'm hearing it again even more so with ps4.

i agree multiplatforms do help alot, but i think sony AAA games > multiplatforms

however, i don't see why they should be rushed with all the time sony has had

Those studios have been supporting the latter part of the PS3's life so it shouldn't come as a surprise that their AAA's would be later.

Sure, I get it. Jackie had a similar thread not long ago, with the same complaint. I've heard a lot of people saying similar things. Personally, I just view it as part of being an early adopter ... which is why I'm not an early adopter.

sony has so many studios it doesn't even matter, not to mention it would have been easy to push something back to ps4 launch, but as others have said they would rather for the install base to grow for more $$$, which is great business strategy, i would milk that 80 million install base too.

I'm wondering if your issue is quantity though. Perhaps your issue is the sameness of the bulk of exclusives thus far. I mean, Killzone 4, Infamous 3, Dead rising 3, Forza 5... all high number franchise iterations. I wonder if you would have felt the same if there were more new IPs at launch in place of some of them.

maybe, KZ was a good choice but didn't deliver for many fans. Infamous I don't have any issue with. New IPs are always welcome, DR3 for me felt like a new IP, even though I had played the other games.

As for the original question I'm fine with what I have now. Would have been nice to get DriveClub at launch but that might work out better if it comes out in the dead of summer. Otherwise I have played Killzone, inFamous, and soon to be MLB 14, plus some good digital only titles, within the first 6 months of release so that's not bad. In between those games I spend more time on PC anyways.

Yup. It'd be a tough sale to the developers to launch all their AAA games at launch. Most would probably feel safer waiting a year after launch to release to let that consumer base grow first.

Sony was dedicated to the PS3 and the 1o year life cycle. They could have just as easily saved The Last of Us and Gran Turismo 6 for the PS4's launch. People would still find a way to complain though. I'm fine with waiting for great games. Give me one truly great exclusive every 4-5 months along with some good third party games and i'll be good.

Honestly, they should have had GT6 for PS4 and not PS3.

Actually, the XBox One currently only has 6 games rated 80 or over on Metacritic. The PS4 has 17. Let that sink in for a moment.

17 > 6

You do realize that Metacritic list is incomplete, right ? I mean it is missing AC4:Black flag rating, Battlefield 4 rating, Lego super heroes...etc
