I thought the same. Especially since Microsoft had Forza Motorsport 5 at launch. It would have been good to have them go head to head. I'll probably never even get around to playing Gran Turismo 6 since i'm just about done with my PS3 and now we probably have to wait another 5 years for the next GT game? I hope DriveClub delivers.

Actually, i thought the same for games like Halo 4 and GTA V. That late in the gen, you might as well just put it on the more powerful hardware. I completely understand why they were last gen games though. Gotta sell to that larger user base and make that cash before going all in on next gen.

Guys, if we want to keep this in the PS section, we'll need to stick to the PS4 only, not get into console war stuff.

Just like all other consoles to ever be released, it will take time for the console to build up a decent library.

Exactly, i get some joy out of seeing people panic when they say there's no games to play when in actuality there really is and they probably haven't even played half the games out. I don't remember the PS2 having a killer lineup at launch either and how'd that turn out? 150 million consoles sold. People still play that system 13 years later.

Edit: Had to look it up and yup, lol! Was that really the PS2's launch lineup? I got my console in mid 2001 iirc and i've never played any of these games. I might have picked up Midnight Club at some point. The first game i had for my PS2 was Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2. Fun game but.. a biking game. Now we're getting full fledged single player and multiplayer games, with amazing graphics and gameplay at launch and people aren't happy?

no one said you can't have a crappy launch and still dominate later, that was never brought up. The point is why have a below average or bad launch? The original xbox and ps1 both had great launches, and for me personally the xb1's launch was really good. Just don't see the point of defending it when its possible to do, I don't owe sony or MS a damn thing

I don't think they need them to make great games, if anything they need to write less and have more gameplay as far as that goes.

it was said that guy was over mp, people leave jobs in industries like this all the time. I don't think there is too much to look into other than maybe they are tired of working on the same game or someone higher up didn't agree with thier vision and style.

If anything, I would hope they would create a platformer with cartoon visuals and that would be the reasons for some of the changes, but I'd assume not. Not everyone who works at places such as ND and Sucker Punch wants to work on realistic games, a lot of artists really love creating artistic, cartoon like characters or art.
 
It would be better to count when your right rather then when your wrong. Well, for the lazy atleast.

As for the topic I don't think gamers will be waiting as long for games as you say. Infamous took a long while to get out, Sucker Punch cut a lot of wait time for this one. KZ was a really poor game but also had a lot of wait time cut. I'm sure 2014 will be pretty busy and the end of this year. So, I simply don't agree with the assertion I think.

It didn't need to be launch title, but could have come late 2015. As you said it could be 5 years till we see it now. Considering how it is still Sony's biggest franchise and a system seller too.. Halo 4, maybe, but MS have Halo stuff seemingly coming soon. As for GTA V, nah. Made sense for them to release that on old hardware. They are 3rd party after all and 26 millions sold, says right move all around for them. Maybe a port to new hardware will occur, but honestly I have moved on and am Firmly waiting for RDR 2 :)

Yeah, GTA V on last gen consoles definitely made sense for Rockstar. Especially since they're just going to port it to the Xbox One and PS4 and make even more money. If there's a big upgrade in visuals i'll be all over it.

The thing is both consoles had a better then last gen launch.

I say no these lineups are pretty darn good but we are just impatient and spoiled as gamers 2 much to notice(me included)

This. I honestly don't get why it matters if games are multiplats or not. It's not like my enjoyment of a game is dismissed in anyway knowing its a multiplat.
4 months in, there's more games than I could play. Bein exclusive or multiplat doesn't change anything.

For me, personally, PS4 offers more games. Better multiplats that "I" play, more exclusives I care about, etc.

honestly I think xb1's launch is better than both 360/ps3, it doesn't blow them away, but marginally better for sure.
 
At the moment neither console is that interesting. I could easily wait a good 2 or 3 years for a new console. and be fine. The Wii U has more interesting games than X1 and Ps4 IMO. We are very early in this gen so it's expected. I find it funny people make it a "Sony" thing.
 
If there are enough games to justify the purchase, then go ahead. if there isn't, its ok to wait, & it will probably be cheaper as well, & there will be more games on discount rates already.

Other than that I cannot find a PS4, I do not have have a urge to buy one, or have any games I absolutely must play so far. This could change of course.

Same goes to XBOX one. When there is enough justification to buy, I will.
