Assassin creed 4 Xbox One Gameplay

I have seen part of a play through so far and I know this game has scored pretty well, but to be there just seems to be to much Naval. Have to play it though to get a feel.

Its a pirate game. I do not want to play a pirate game where I spend most time on land.

Just a thought, I feel its a shame, if only they do not shoe in piracy, in a the AC game, but instead made a proper pirate game.

don't shoot the messenger, and the game will be just as fun, but I heard from a person I trust that his first look showed it being 900P.

It is an Assassins Creed game at the end of the day. I don't want to be sailing for 5 hours trying to collect wood to upgrade my ship just so I can progress in the game.

I just think there is to much sailing.

I was worried about this too but then I went back and played more AC 3 and did the naval missions and realized how fun they can be. Word is AC4 improves on this.

I always wonder how people can tell just by looking at it.

We'll see what Ubi confirms. There's several games now 1080p, so who knows...maybe AC4 is one of them. Bit ridiculous if not, being a current gen game .

Don't listen to GAF Fud, have you noticed that after good news comes out about xbox, a few hours to a day later 2 or 3 new things pop up about how awful it is? GAF is full of sony shills.

Last week, we brought you news of Bungie’s Destiny possibly running at a sub-1080p on the Xbox One in its alpha phase, based on the words of a tester.

It appears that the latest entrant in Ubisoft’s popular franchise, Assassin’s Creed, suffers a similar fate on Microsoft’s next-gen console. During the latest episode of his weekly show, Annoyed Gamer, game journalist Marcus Beer briefly talks about a visible difference between the two next-gen console versions of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. According to him, the Xbox One version looks “fuzzier” and “strained”, while the PS4 version looks “sharper”, “crisper”, and has “better draw distances”.

Jeremy Conrad (former IGN editor) tweeted:

Sounds like AC4 is sub-1080 on Xbox One as well.
AC4 resolution isn't confirmed, btw. Just a rumor.

Got this from Xboxworld forum.

Pretty much impossible to tell the res in those youtube videos due to bad compression.

I think CoD is the only launch game we're going to see 720 - 1080p, it's a poorly coded game that doesn't indicate system performance. Other games will be mostly 720 to 900, or 900 to 1080. With a few rare exceptions like NFS: Rivals where it's reported the devs tried to make the PC, PS4, and XB1 all run at 30 fps.

So it's likely to be 900 to 1080, or 1080 to 1080 with better IQ.

With ace's question and that ex-IGN guy's lack of credibility (*cough*ex*cough*), I'd say there's high chance it is BS. I still remember how NFS Rivals on X1 is low resolution... Yeah low-res on 1080p... lol

But there's also Marcus Beer....guess we'll just have to wait and find out.

What does that even mean? The xb1 won't scale this 1 game to 1080p? He counted 900 lines on a tv? What if your tv like the vast majority can't display a 900p signal? Do you understand what I'm getting @?

Means the games native at 900P and upscaled to 1080P when outputted to the TV. All games will be upscaled regardless of reso.

Lol @ KB and all his bulls***, can't wait till he gets himself banned.

Good to know that the B3D native frame buffer thread is now 'bulls***' I bet you didn't mind it when they showed 360 games were higher reso, but now the shoes on the other foot its 'bulls***'.

Exactly my point so like ryse if crytek didn't tell us ryse was rendered @ 900p internally nobody would know it wasn't 1080p. How could this informant see only 900 lines of resolution messenger man?
Its not the easiest process, but its not too hard either, he used a video and did some pixel counting magic.
How is this possible when you just stated 1080p to the tv? How did he count only 900?

Because you workout the native resolution of a game by looking at specific angles at counting the steps that you see vs the number of pixels on those edges. Theres a huge thread on it on other forums, its not that tricky it just takes some time to find good angles really. IIRC, if you have for example 8 steps over 16 pixels then you have half the reso that the game is displayed in, is its native.

Makes sense, but I don't believe the scaler does that bad a job to make this so apparent. How close do you need to be to the screen to detect the missing 180 lines that aren't actually missing when scaled? For the minority of us that don't count pixels or look for the angles that expose this somewhat...

No idea as I haven't compared them. But it should be noted, that if it is 900P its most likely 1600x900 like Ryse. It'll probably just be blurrier, and have a couple more jaggies.
