My most frequent use of snap is the TV, and it's not for me to watch TV. My wife watches TV in the snap while I play. Of course, I prefer the extra real estate, but I like having her by me while I game. The other things I use snap for is mostly Achievements, Friends List and Internet Explorer (for music while gaming). Snapping is great...but with the multitasking, it's the game standby for the last 3 apps. I love that I can just back out of a game, or an app, and my game is still there, live ready to go. I think I had gone a few days without playing a game, but I was watching TV through my Xbox (which is how we watch TV), and I was on Internet Explorer during those days. I then wanted to get back to where I was in Forza Horizon, I hit the B button, and there it was like I left her a few days ago. Going through my apps like that is pretty nice.
Could I do without all that? Absolutely. I do just that on my PS4 when play. Do I wish the multiplatform games on the X1 were a match for match in every instance with the PS4? Why wouldn't I. Would I give up a few pixels or framerates (that I don't notice that much) for the convenience of the multiple operating systems for multi-tasking? In my scenario, absolutely.
My scenario isn't for everyone. Like
JinCA said above, NONE of that interests him, so it only makes sense for him to buy the platform and game on that platform because it meets his or her needs. I wouldn't think any less of him (or more) because he chose what is ideal for his gaming habits. Just like I would hope nobody would discount me for what I found works for me.
I am not afraid to admit when I am wrong or if I wasted time championing some wasted feature or resource. I was the first to admit that I was praising Kinect till the cows came home. I wasted my time...I found it really didn't suit my habits, and I have since changed my tune on Kinect. I did hook it back up, but I never use it.
