Assassins creed unity 900p 30fps on xbox1 and ps4

That would be a good reason. The reason we got was "debates and stuff"
Yes, debating why the game is running like a pig that ate too fast and hiccuping everywhere at 1080 rather than dropping it to 900 and letting it all run smooth? But everyone is jumping that somehow the PlayStation version has been gimped. What if concessions were made in the Xbox One version in order to get it to 900 rather than 720 in order to prevent debates?

They should be upset just at the comment "We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff" despite later on claiming that theres a CPU bottleneck , he makes it sound in that quote as if the PS4 is intentionally nerfed to keep Xbox one owners from being butthurt , that would be like a Dev cutting out Kinect features of a multiplat just because the PS4 didn't come with one.

From the perspective of a sole Xboxone owner.
Yeah but......he didnt say parity was achieved because of anything about XBO. He actually said the game is more CPU intensive then GPU so, there's that.....

It's a bad thing either way, but there is nothing left unclear in the words used to describe why both versions are manipulated to be the same.

It is logical to assume that if they nerfed one version that it was the PS4 version but of course its just as bad the other way around.

Ubishaft already stated why they went with parity though so your explanation is not only incorrect but untrue too.

The game was gimped, anyone happy about it (whoever is dumb enough to be happy about it) is either a fanfart/console warrior or just glad there can be no "debates and stuff".
Believe what you want. Ubi spelled it out. The engine was bottlednecked.

It's simple. Ubi couldn't reach their targets and made concessions on both consoles or they purposely gimped the PlayStation version knowing they would get a tremendous amout of negative press in hopes of selling less copies just because.

Angry people of the internet, I have two sets of numbers:

900p 30fps

and

900p 30fps

Here's the magic. What if I told you those two sets don't necessarily equate to the same thing?

Plainview gets it.

The rest of the internet is embarrassing.

Come now, let's not be naive on the matter, we've been seeing a lot of XB1 footage of this title, parity is more important to MS and Ubisoft for this very reason.

Ubisoft played a safer route by doing this than releasing a PS4 version which looked and ran better, the lesser evil was to make them both the same, but you can believe whatever you please, even after Ubisoft made their motives clear.

So you're in the boat that this is some grand conspiracy between Microsoft and Ubi to purposely gimp the PlayStation version for the lulz? That's what you believe? Microsoft made it rain?

Or

Microsoft helped get the game up from 720 to 900 in order to achieve parity with the rock solid PlayStation version at 900 so there wasn't another "debate" as to why the Xbox One version is running at 720 instead of 900?

If any other company did the same thing the backlash wouldn't be as big as this, people will believe it's just two games running on similar consoles. It's because it's Ubisoft who's been recently suspected of doing these stuffs on PC, though never on consoles actually. This will stop becoming a problem only in around a year or two when the platform parity will become a norm.

It would be naive to think that isn't possible. I wouldn't consider to be some kind of crazy conspiracy.

Can't help but to wonder how the reaction would have been if the game ran in 1080p on both systems. Something's telling me that many saying they "can't support parity" and/or "pre-order cancelled" wouldn't have mined then.

That still doesn't excuse the horrible PR from Ubisoft though.

LOL come on man, "grand conspiracy" as if MS, Sony or Ubisoft really give two f***s about this anyway, money talks and it's just business for them plus do you really think people won't play this anyway?

They're a business they don't care about PS or Xbox gamers, just that cheese.

You make it sound like this act which is not new in the industry is an act of evil, all it really is - is unfair.

Ubisoft amongst others have gimped their PC games for years, this ain't a new practice.

The issue isn't parity. Its a question of forced parity.

I think the collective intelligence is almost willingly overreading this "avoid debates and stuff" to get the narrative they want - evil Microsoft is holding back the truthful Sony and good gamers to hide their weakness - because that quote can really go either way. I mean it's not impossible to read it that way, but it's clearly taken out of context. It can be more like "engineers worked hard to avoid debates", in which case it's more like Destiny which achieved platform parity in the last few weeks. There are reasons to believe it this way too, because to put it simply, this is new if true. Sony has never done it before, Microsoft has never done it before, and if you ask me, spending money on something like this looks stupid to me.

They did spell it out. They said they made it @ parity to avoid all the debates and stuff before going into technical detail about the game. Why even add that comment if they could've just said the engine was bottlenecked. And besides, they were saying the CPU was bottlenecked because of all the NPC's in the game but the resolution is heavily dependent on the GPU, in which case 1080p is definitely possible without hindering too much on the game's performance.

Umm, Psst Mcmasters, I said that in the very post you quoted.
YUNOREAD?

Yes, and as I said in my post, I'm sure the reaction to forced parity would be different if both versions were 1080p.

People seemed so focused on resolution and "Ps" now that they don't realize there's other ways a game on two different consoles could look different and/or take advantage of the system it's on.

It seems as if there is only one truth people want to believe with this one. It's got to be evil Microsoft and it's got to be evil Ubisoft. There's no other explanation in many people's minds.

I think it's time for you to bail out (unless you want to lock the thread down later when it goes to hell), only three people are left wanting to believe the certain type of narrative when others just said lol and went out.

Wouldn't that be a legitimate business strategy for MS to pay Ubi to nerf their competition in order to help recover in sales, from what I hear the PS4 is still outselling the xboxone, it would be like Sony purchasing sole advertising to Destiny.

IF, Ubi had the game running at a rock solid 1080p with absolutely no frame drops Sony fans would have a reason to be bunched in the panties. I don't think that was the case at all. Rather than dipping below 30 they dropped it to 900. Whic is perfectly acceptable because we've seen the solid frame rate argument many a time over the page year.

Really no proof which way of thinking on this one is right. So why act like one side is crazy thinking and the other is sane thinking. It is all just speculation.

It's interesting to see this thread closed but the bad proof reading one is.

Even on Twitter, some xbox fans are tweeting the [HASHTAG]#PS4noparity[/HASHTAG] hashtag. Forced parity is never good.

The sad thing too is that this probably applies to the PC version as well. Well actually, no, the PC version will perform terribly due to the lack of multi-core support. iamrite!

We cant close this thread until everybody is of like mind, We gotta work this out!
