Would need to be a remake. You know full well EA/Dice would mess with it too much and ruin it, though.Just make a BF Remastered. Give us the best maps, weapons, equipment, and classes from all the games with better graphics plz.
Honestly I don’t get why some of these companies are struggling to make great shooters now days. Is it just the greed, chasing trends, online games being to complexed… don’t get it.
And yet COD has multiple dev studios with hundreds of devs working on it and they cant’t get their s*** together either. They all seem to see Activision/COD making tons of money (over a billion for just a quarter). They want this money, but don't want to invest in a good game to get one.
So I think they kind of take a "home run swing" at some generic game that will have mass appeal, and end up making something nobody likes. Again too, they don't have the studios and resources, so whatever they make ends up feeling empty. The whole live service thing falls flat in comparison too.
For as much as COD is frustrating, there's more stuff to do in that game.
Greed and trends are a part of it. Not listening to your fans is the biggest issue.Honestly I don’t get why some of these companies are struggling to make great shooters now days. Is it just the greed, chasing trends, online games being to complexed… don’t get it.
Ah, you have more experience than me with the series. I started at the tail end of 1942, so I never played any of the others prior to that.I don't agree with the "since bfv" arguement. Really I feel like BF had eras where they dumbed the franchise down.
1942, BF:V, Battlefield 2, BF2142, IMO this was the peak of BF franchise, the game did have a learning curve with commanders, detailed and elaborate commrose, more structure, less of a run and gun game a lot more meticulous then the BF games of today.
BC1, BC2, 1943, dumbed down, downsized, and simplified for the console masses and controller.
BF3, BF4, hardkine, Same as above but to a lesser degree, they brought a bit more of the core of the game back but certainly not all of it in BF3 and 4. Hardline was ehhh, but still retains more core then the games of today.
bf1, bfv, 2042
these are basically all in the same category to me, very dumbed down with not many classes, CoD style gameplay with battlefield moments, not a ton of tactical play in these IMO, they leaned towards more of a GaaS model in these with seasons and such.
basically, bring back BF2 style gameplay and I'll be excited, but I think that's never gonna happen. This is also not me saying that all of these games are bad, I've had fun with most of them.
1942 was the first one.Ah, you have more experience than me with the series. I started at the tail end of 1942, so I never played any of the others prior to that.
But point taken. I hope they aren’t too far gone to bring it back to the basics and make a great game, but we’ll see.
The devs should know.If you do a deep dive in the "BF community", there isn't universal agreement in what a game should be. There's fans running around who loved BF1 and consider it the best game of the series. A lot of these people never played anything before that. (heck, many weren't alive).
Maps, classes, infantry v armour balance. etc.I honestly can't remember the differences between BF 2 and 4 at this point (or 3, or Bad Company). I had a blast playing every one of those games.
I am not excited for the next game. All this talk about the next Bf "in a new way" has me thinking they are still beating a dead horse. I hope I am wrong though.
We had it. It was called BF3, BF4, BF1, BF5, BF 2042.Why won't they do a Bad Company 3?
If there is one thing a BF game never needs more of it is grenades. Yet they have added like 15 to this game since launch.
Patch is out. But it's broken the game for many, including me. My game won't update and I can't play. Not seeing anything positive about Season 5 for those that managed to get their game updated and working. Read that Sundance's gadgets were removed and all she has is a wingsuit lol.
