Technically, the Series X performs worse than the PS5 in their findings. But not enough to lose your s*** over.

Sad thing is, this is a last gen game, and it's only 1728p on current gegen.
DF ignored missing textures on PS5 for some reason

Game seems harder than the first one. Maybe it's just me.

Really? I chose Ryan and get to heal if I block/parry. I always have 5 med packs on me as I don't need health lol.

Plus, there's really no consequence when you die. You basically just respawn right there lol.

I picked Jacob thinking he is more well rounded. I'm stuck at the halperin hotel and getting pissed by the minute.

God d*** you guys for making me want to pull the trigger now!
do it party hard GIF

Good game so far.

I have some complaints. Zombies and loot items respawn pretty quickly. Sometimes they spawn right behind you out of thin air. Sound quality needs some work. At times I hear zombies right behind me. When I turn around there is no one there. When I swing and hit, the sound effects can be heard behind me when they should be heard from the front.

Those are my complaints so far. Aside from what was stated, it's a pretty solid game.

Reviewers have this at 75% average rating and 56% recommended 🤔

Is this more like mindless fun?

Dying Light 2 is a lot better imo. The game has seen a lot of patches and content added to it. There's a lot more to do and has more freedom in that game.

Dead Island 2 has the Gore system going for it and that's pretty much it. Dying Light 2 was updated a few days ago with a new gore system that is similar, but not as precise.

DL2 is another game I’ve wanted to play just waiting till it gets to the $20-$25 sale. Loved the first game as well.

I'd recommend you play Dead Island 2 first. I feel like Dying Light 2 has spoiled me to the point that Dead Island 2 feels lacking in game play mechanics.

My friends and I started Dying Light 1 on the PC but couldn't finish it. Gameplay wasn't enticing enough from what I remember.

I got to the last level in dying light 2 a bit after it released and thought you know what, this was just average across the board compared to the first(except for traversal) Need to go back after the updates and see what they done. Didn't even do the last level just mucked around.

Bit the bullet and got this game and loving it, perhaps not a better game than DL2 but I'm having more fun with it so far.

It's not the same game as it released. The new parkour system is coming this Summer. So I'll be replaying it when that comes.

Dead Island 2 in numbers
  • More than 1 million – copies of Dead Island 2 sold in first weekend
  • 11 million – total hours played
  • 28 million – total number of player deaths (over twice the population of Los Angeles)
  • 45 million – zombies sliced in half
  • 756 million – zombie limbs hacked off
  • 1.1 billion – total number of zombies slayed

I just started a chain reaction of guts, blood, and gore galore. I shot a zombie with explosives on his vest, he blew up taking the zombie who had explosives too. He went up and ignited the zombie who had gas tanks on his back up. Somewhere along the lines of that a pipe started leaking water. And some were getting electrocuted. All this stemmed from one bullet. It was freaking awesome.

I'm having fun but this is harder than the first but no penalties for dying and enemies health doesn't reset which negates that. Enemies spawn all over the place and out of nowhere which is frustrating when scavenging or re-exploring areas I was just in.

That's what I stated previously. The respawning of enemies and loot out of thin air ruins the immersion for me. I clear one room and return for one minute and you have a few zombies on their knees eating a dead body. That's lame.
