Destiny help and advice?

I have a question. I'm a level 5 right now and, tonight when I get home to play the game, I would like to try to find someone to play with around my level. How should I go about doing this?

Right now I think my best bet is to play single player and keep going back to the tower after every mission. Here I will look for any players of similar level, run up to them, and add them to my friends list.

Is this the most effective way?
Probably helps if you dance for them. All seductively and such.

Odd, the dude went and spent $60 on a POS game that is a bomb.

And has opinions that make him sound like a 13 yr old who doesn't even yet understand that his own personal preferences are not remotely important, or even relevant, to anyone else's. We get it, you don't like it for some reason. Stop thinking about it. Leave the thread. Live your life. Be a productive member of society.

Im not positive, as I have never returned to orbit before the countdown ended, but you are supposed to let the countdown end the mission, not go to orbit manually.
I have let the countdown expire and not go to orbit manually, I guess I don't understand this game or I'm missing something, I'm baffled at this.

Are negative opinions not as valid or worthwhile as positive opinions in your world?

Would you prefer to watch scientific, ethical, or political debates between two parties that agree with each other?

Do you find it endearing when people use grade school level insults to attack the person rather than the idea in a setting such as this?

Dude people at higher levels can play with you too. It's still beneficial for thme because they get loot for their level and still get glimmer

Never give up. It's your Destiny to overcome the odds. But yeah, obviously there is learning curve to any game like this.

I googled for this but could find little - how to you quit the game? When can you quit? Do you just dashboard out? (x1) I saw an option to log off, but it was greyed out (I was in orbit in the ship, not sure if that matters). Also, can you quit out in the middle of a mission and have it save?

Usually I just log out when I get to Orbit and it brings me back to the Title screen then I quit it using PS button and closing application.

A little tip about Exotics. Sometimes an Exotics vendor will appear in the Tower. He accepts the Strange Coins as currency. You are only allowed to equip one Exotic item. So before you spend those Strange Coins make sure that you are certain the item you are buying is what you want. I found out the hard way. I spent all my coins on Exotic gauntlets, only to find out what I have explained here. Now I have no idea how long it will take to save up enough coins to buy something that I really want.

He only appears from Friday morning to Sunday morning. I think it's 9 AM PST for both days.

After you kill the Wizard I'm pretty sure you have to go back to the Tower and talk to someone to progress the story. The missions stay available to play on the map all the time.

so whats the significance of going beyond 20. i have gear that doesn't have light thats better than gear that does have light.

and whats the best way to level your subclass and weapons.

the higher level you are, the more damage you deal. So a weapon that may not have as good of stats still might do more damage if it gives you enough light to level up

I just found out about the Skywatch grinding loot trick where you keep blasting enemies who are coming out of their spawn point in a cave...

Apparently, you have to do a patrol on Skywatch but whenever I'm in orbit the only thing that comes up is story missions for skywatch. Does anyone know how you change it from story mission to patrol?

There should be a patrol icon. I think it's usually an arrow in it. What level are you? You might still be too early to go on patrol.

My advice would be stay away from vault of glass until you have a full fireteam of level 26...We couldn't even pass the first bunch of mobs.

I'm level 22. I'll go and look for the icon right now. I must just be missing it.

This may be a no brainer but it can help immensely to turn up your "Look speed" in Multiplayer mode.

I tried it with 6 players. 3 lvl 27, a lvl 25, 24, 23. Myself and another guy could hold our circle, but it was impossible for the other guys. It takes lvl 26 players at the least. You have to unleash hell on those Vex Minotaur just to hold your capture point, and they just keep on coming. I cant wait to try it with a properly leveled group though.

I want to correct something I posted earlier in the thread about only being able to equip a single Exotic item. You can actually equip 2, one weapon, and one piece of armor.

What about Erotic items? How many of those may I equip?

Just one. A big one, but just one.

Some tips I've came across:

Shingen-C or E for PvP = bawse.
Any shotgun = bawse

But here is the megaton advice:

And here is the kicker about it. If you get there and there are already people farming it, you can stay! You don't have to be in the party of theirs to get the drops. In fact, after you kill one, you don't even need to shoot anymore. I would just watch tv and browse reddit and let them all get the kills and go collect my drops once in a while.

Dont you only get drops to your kills?

Nope. I definitely got multiple drops for not shooting anything.
