Destiny loot system

They're not. ;)

That's what the Cryptarch is doing with all the Legendary Engrams you give him; he takes the good loot and gives it to the PS4 players.

So that explains why all I get are randy newman songs and used condoms when I trade in these legendary engrams.

I just wish the loot drops were a little more frequent. The first Strike I played I didn't get a single loot drop.

I realized today the game is becoming a grind for me and I'm not having fun anymore. I think I may take a break from it. I keep doing the same 4 strikes over and over and I am still only level 21. I got armor in the beginning but it has all but stopped.

i dont think i have ever done a strike without a loot dropping.

this is a grind loot game you shouldn't be able to have all the loot by the first week, some people just want instant gratification.

for those that played diablo. i put 100 hrs into the game at launch and the best weapon i had was a f***ing blue......
again the loot system is fine.

.

With any game like this, you're going to hit the "loot wall" where it turns into a massive grind. I know Destiny is a lot shorter than many, but every game hits this. They could double the level cap and increase the loot drops... all they do is postpone hitting the wall. There's no avoiding it. You are either going to max out or hit the endless grind.

What we need is patches and/or DLC to make the end game more insteresting, not just shorten the grind (or push it back). Diablo makes you play through the campaign over and over and over. That's pointless.

It's far from fine. There is quite a large agreement on this from players. And its not about instant gratification either so that argument holds no water. I've put nearly 100 hours into diablo 3 between the 360 and the x1 and that system is far more rewarding with is end game mechanics than Destiny.

I disagree with the loot wall point. I have not maxed out. I can't do raid missions. I can't do nightmare playlists. I can't do any of the level 28 impossible play lists. And why ? Because I can't get any better armour at the moment. I'm having to grind the vanguard rep to get around it and that's going to take a while.

Again I said either max out or it turns into an endless grind. You're obviously in the latter category. When I get there I'll just wait for them to patch it rather than grind.

True enough.

The endless grinding isnt so bad for me. I like games like this. Its the reward system that's completely f***ed.

diablo 3 did not launch the way it is now. it took them a whole year to figure it out and theyre still tweaking the way you get end game gear. and guess what people still complain about the loot drops.

Well, people are always going to complain. Some complaints just have more merit than others.
I completely accept that Blizzard took awhile to fine tune Diablo and in my opinion the end result there is great! I hope Bungie give the same attention to this system because it's driving people away rather than engaging them to play more.

It happens all the time. So get used to it.

Oh, I'm used to it. I've had multiple Strikes reward me with zero loot drops :( I mean, just give me something, even if its a better uncommon or crappier rare. I just put all that ordinance and at least half an hour into the Strike for zilch. Especially the first one that I had ever done...

I think the daily and weekly challenge have guaranteed rewards. The strike playlist seems OK but on at least 3 occasions I did a level 26 strike and got absolutely nothing for it.

The guaranteed rewards are vanguard marks or strange coins. You are not guaranteed gear.

The grind wouldn't be so bad if the game had more variety to it. The strikes and missions ALL play out the same.

Go to the objective marker. Kill bad guys. Have Ghost hack some thing. Fight off waves of bad guys. Fight bullet sponge boss. Rinse and repeat.
If the game had a little more variety, I don't think people would mind the grind as much. At least I wouldn't.

Even Mass Effect 3's multiplayer had more variety than this

A guy in my raid party showed me a way to get massive loot drops in a very short period of time. Bungie knows about it, and have stated for people to enjoy it while it lasts because it will be gone in the next patch.

Yeah, you can't tease something like that!

I need a 3 person fireteam to do it. You guys send me a fireteam invite sometime today, and I will show you.

I won't be on until Friday and I'm in the GMT timezone which may not be good for you . Add me there and if I'm on when your playing, I'll send you an invite.

Can you some description of it?

It would be a lot easier to just show you than try to explain how to do it.

Here's a video guide of how to get there courtesy of DriedMangos in the PS4 thread:

You really don't need to play with a fire team for this. There's usually 3-4 ransoms there's as well helping you out. I was able to get 8 blue engrams in an hour here with 4 or 5 being rare and 1 purple. I was also able to help level up my cryptarch a lot with these (almost lvl 3), level up my armor during the endless waves, and fulfill a couple bounties.

Also got lots of green drops which I was able to dismantle for a good bit of cash.

Though I guess if you do play with a fire team, you get credit for all of your team's kills, so would you get triple the drops?
