Destiny "most successful new video game franchise launch ever"

Well if they said it must be true. The beta took you to the moon and had very little story. Did people just think they hadn't added it yet? Or they hadn't added social interaction yet either?

Yes.

Go read a review or two of Destiny. Many of the major criticisms of the game (ie repetition, lack of planets, story, loot issues, social issues etc..) were either excused because it was a beta or did not present themselves in the first three hours of the game.

In fact, if you listen to the latest bombcast, both Jeff and Brad expressed that they had hope that there was more to the game than the beta.

Now why on earth would they say something like that?

Just as I suspected.

The English language is one of the most precise languages on the planet and allows for a high level of articulation.

You don't see the difference between "Bungie won't support..." and "Bungie said they won't support..."

It's obvious to most of us that Bungie won't support Destiny 1 for ten years because...

1) A game needs to have a large enough player base for the publisher/developer to support it for any length of time. The jury is still out on Destiny.

2) Bungie/Activision still has at least two more sequels to make. Kind of hard to throw worthwhile support behind the first in a series when major sequels come two or three years later.

3)It's probable that the PS4 and XBone aren'teven viable in six years let alone ten years.

Let's use our head at least sometimes.
So you have no proof that Bungie said they won't support it for 10 years. You just keep spinning.

We are still waiting.

You don't have much experience with beta's do you?

We are talking about this beta. The story was almost nonexistent and it was obvious. Stuff like social interaction could have been in the final game but if issues like that were a big deal to someone why buy the game without finding out if it was? The bottom line was the flaws were obvious and nobody that played the beta needed a review to tell them what the game was.

I'm not sure what else I can do to convince you. Let's just say there's a reason why Destiny is considered the most disappointing AAA game in quite some time and you don't seem to be able to hypothesize why that is. I, and many others, do.

It seems as though we're at an impasse as well...

1) Common sense doesn't seem to be your thing.
2) You failed to produce proof that Bungie said they would support Destiny 1 for 10 years.
3) You failed to produce proof that I said Bungie said they wouldn't support Destiny 1 for 10 years.

I have spent the past 5 back and forths communicating with the forum jester. You got me. You got me.

It is disappointing because it was hyped to such a degree and because we know Bungie is capable of so much more. It is disappointing because the game has such obvious flaws. The disappointment has nothing to do with whether or not people closed their eyes and stuck their fingers in their ears during the beta.

That has nothing to do with the initial issue. We have been debating whether or not Bungie/Activision hid reviews from the public by creating a false review embargo by not turning the servers on to a 3 player co-op game and a 12 player vs game.

You somehow felt that people could review the game based on the beta. I say that's ridiculous.

I'm saying it doesn't matter because Bungie let anyone who wanted to play the game to do so and the beta represented the game extremely well

You're looking at it from an illogical perspective...

Step 1. Hype the hell out of Destiny.

Step 2. Let people play something called an "Alpha" and a "Beta". Let them know ahead of time that they're playing a fraction of an unfinished game.

Step 3. Tell people that they can't allow for early reviews because it's a multiplayer centric title. Believe people are dumb because they released a 3 player co op game and a 12 player vs game.

Step 4. Reviews start rolling in two and three days AFTER release. Note: The bulk of a games sales occur in the first 48 hours of release.

Step 5. Profit.

The fact that the beta accurately represented the game has nothing to do with the dishonest practices Bungie/Activision carried out. You can bet your ass that Destiny isn't breaking sales records if it's sitting at a 76 on metacritic a week before release (IE If Bungie/Activision turned their 12 player servers on at a time that would have allowed for early reviews)

I am all sorts of things. I have it going on like Donkey Kong. Even shared impasse with many.

1) Common sense doesn't seem to be your thing.

Insults seem to be your thing though.

2) You failed to produce proof that Bungie said they would support Destiny 1 for 10 years.

I never claimed they did. We only questioned where Bungie said they would not support the game for 10 years (a claim made by you). We are still waiting.

3) You failed to produce proof that I said Bungie said they wouldn't support Destiny 1 for 10 years.

LOL...now you are changing your tune...prolly cuz you got caught in your slip of the lip.

We already knew that :)

Exactly this. These consoles better not still be around in 10 years.

So is the next installment of Destiny going to be on the next generation of consoles?

No, it is not. It will be on the X1 and PS4. Probably in 2016.
