How do you know they didn't? Frankly, if it did have a SP campaign, and more content - it easily would have been deserving of higher marks. Titanfall with a great SP is easily a 9.0, if not higher.

Single player needs to die already. It makes no sense to create content that the majority of people won't finish and the ones that do will only do so once or twice. This industry needs to figure out how to grow and invest in multiplayer more and more. Destiny is a fine step towards that future.
"Flop" as in sales? No, neither is a flop. Both have sold well - but obviously Destiny would do better, with the marketing push, the clout Bungie brings, far more platforms, etc.
That said, my post has nothing to do with sales. I'm discussing quality gameplay, and innovations in gameplay mechanics... And on those levels, Destiny just loses. The reviews show it, my own experiences prove it, and nothing I've read from anyone else's experience leads me to believe otherwise.
They don't have to. Value and content are implicitly part of the reviews... And besides, the lowest scoring reviews DO knock it for being MP only.
They do have to mention flaws. That is a flaw. Knocking it for being MP only is getting it wrong also. There is nothing wrong with it being MP only. It just didn't ship with enough content as an MP only game. Its not different than a SP only game having an extremely short campaign

This industry needs to figure out a way to sell them separately.
I don't want MP in COD or BF. I like the campaigns. I want COD for 30$ with no MP. I want BF for 30$ without MP. I want Halo 5 for $60, with MP and SP I carr about. Others who want BF for MP alone shouldn't have to spend money for the SP. Give them MP for $30.
That's the future.
I disagree, and so do most reviewers.
It's not a flaw, it's just not industry leading.
Of course and like I said they got it wrong. I am just shocked Destiny didn't get a hype pass with reviewers.
The future should be to avoid tacked on SP or MP modes. BF4 might not have been such a mess if they didn't waste resources on a irrelevant campaign. Now there is a series that has no problem justifying $60 on just MP.
They are post-release reviews that are released after the hype peaks a night before release. 3 days after release the hype is replaced by reality, hence this happens. That, and Destiny really is a flawed gem. It does what it does well but it just needs to do better.
That much I can agree with.
...but the BF campaign is not tacked on. It's a multi-million dollar endeavor. It may not be as good, or as polished as the COD campaigns - but it's far from being tacked on... and there are plenty of folks like me who enjoy it.
About about dem reviews? you think it will review better than halo 5? it surely didn't "beat" halo 4, not that it matters, but you and others put a fair amount of stock in versus. I'm glad I didn't buy, I'll wait and get the version with all the DLC for $40 or so down the road. I don't think destiny ps4 or xb1 will outsell halo5 either.
If Destiny outsells Titanfall on Xbox One, I'll be amazed.
I don't think it comparing to Halo 5 on this platform is even within the realm of possibility.
It was a nice visual showcase for me, but I was bored pretty fast, but it didn't last very long so I was finished fast enough to enjoy the broken launch MP.
That would be great IMO. Two separate prices, and then a bundle price.

Yeah I can't even remember what TF did on XB1, but I have no doubt halo 5 will destroy the next gen sales individually, maybe not combined, not to mention it out review it by probably 15-20 pts on metacritic. I think that remaster will bring quite a few halo fans back into the fold as well.
Reading gamespot's comments about destiny, thats exactly how I feel about the game, it tries to fool you theres this big sandbox and its nothing more than a shallow shooter with a coat of AAA paint over it, but thats enough to work on most ppl, especially if the shooting mechanics and characters are hipster approved.
Sale wise yes Destiny will outsell Halo 5.. review wise I dunno to me personally if Halo 5 is like 4 Destiny will be the the better game.
Your favorite reviewer gamespot gave it a 6, you think halo 5 will get a 6 lol?
I highly doubt destiny on any single platform will outsell halo 5, its irrelevant to compare it against all the versions, halo 5 is only on xb1. Destiny is on 4 consoles.
I am not going by reviews just think Destiny will be a bigger success and more to my liking IF Halo 5 is like part 4. Single platform IE PS4 Destiny>Halo 5 in sales.
What do you want to bet on that? 1 month ban?
lets say after 30 days which ever game accumulates the most sales that one wins.
Sure after the one's who bet me Destiny wouldn't outsell HMCC(LOL) and that Uncharted 4 will outsell Halo 5 bets are done and they take there bans I will bet you.
EDIT: To reexplain what i meant by Destiny being a bigger success is sales and popularity with gamers as a whole...MANY are jumping to Destiny and many(myself included) jumped away from Halo.
