And makes money.
I think the game will ultimately end up between 78 - 85 range on metacritic. Had it released sometime in July- Aug( read: Not around any other exclusives, AAA games), I'd wager it would be 5 to 10 points higher.
80 or 81 is decent for a game like this. Reviews seem to range pretty widely, which is expected -- some love it, some hate it (and many in the middle).
I think I'll wait for a price drop to $40. I want to support it, but I'm busy with God of War right now. I'm a little put off by some of the comments about the storytelling, although I've only seen snippets here and there, not read any reviews. I also heard the game is around 10 hours long, which isn't great -- although I'll probably replay it once, to see what happens if I'm a good guy on the first run and a nutjob on the second.
Is GOW your GOTY?
FC5 was up there for me until I played God of War and now Ghost Recon Wildlands. Yes, I know Ghost Recon is older, but I didn't play it when it came out. I still haven't gone past the 5th boss in Shadow of the Colossus. Not because I don't want to or can't, but other games came out and it's not a game I am like "OMG" I can't wait to get back to it. Still love it though. I love the art style. Almost feels more like a tech demo?Yeah, although there's been no competition. Far Cry 5 would be the only possible contender that I've played, and it's a far distant second. I didn't play Monster Hunter World or Shadow of the Colossus, so I don't know about those, but I doubt they would usurp it.
This game is f***ing intense. I washed dishes, made beds, tidied up, took out the trash, and helped a old man go to the bathroom.
