Loving it to bits...........it's everything I thought it would be. Doing every side mission I come across. In some places (cars) it looks like last gen assets have come across from the start of development. Also......why is it that only some objects are able to be picked up to throw and others are? apart from that my sneaky stun gunning playthrough is a bloody joy :)

I should get to start on the side missions tonight. Or maybe I'll just go back into Adam's apartment and hack every motherloving door and computer I can in the area, because I can.

I think even more than I love the game so far, though, I love that they actually have a difficulty level called "I Never Asked For This" which is approximately ultra hard core - you have one life, you die, game over, and apparently loading old saves won't even help. I haven't looked into more detail to see if it's just autosaves or it's really that hardcore, but I actually laughed out loud when I saw the difficulty select screen for the first time.

Loving this game too, 10 hours in and I only just started the mission to get my augs, the side missions and just wandering around looking for secrets is soaking up my time, the atmosphere is incredible it really builds upon the last game. Still has some weird physics from the last game, like you brush past a moveable object and it just starts glitching out.

Finished the game today. Took me about 20 hours. Loved every minute of it. I'll wait to talk about the ending when more of us have finished it.

Wait, what? That's insane! Second slower playthrough?

Are 18 hours into the game, but taking it very slow.
Trying to find side missions, hacking stuff and taking down enemies non-lethal.

I've invested probably six hours now, just left the first district of Prague to complete some of the initial sidequests and then checked in to start the second story mission (I think, I'm not sure if I did that part yet or not but I'm in the HQ). Good times are abundant. Time to play is still not as abundant as I would like but I've been able to clock three hours or so a night the last couple of evenings and probably will get the same through Saturday, so hooray me.

I did also notice the object glitchiness at times. It's like anything that's "throwable" is also kickable if you walk into it wrong. I'm sure there's all kinds of fun that will be had by people better at this than me, but I've still had moderate laughs at it.

Oh, and this isn't going to be too spoilery (not naming any characters or story elements), but just in case:
One of the last things I did last night was finish a side quest that had a speech challenge where you start off by saying that you're there on behalf of an interested third party. You know the one I'm talking about, I'm sure. Anyway, I was a few hundred XP short of having the second praxis I'd need for the CASIE, so I went ahead and did it a couple of times just out of curiosity knowing that I'd reload later and come back to do it right. That legitimately felt like a real person I was talking to, rather than a typical game's NPC where you know exactly what to say to get what you want. I went and got another mission complete and got the CASIE and got the result I was looking for, and really was just impressed with that whole mechanic.

I might a bit later. The ending I got was satifactory but I think I want to see how the other choices in the game play out. Plus, I checked online and missed 1 early sub-quest. Found and did all the rest though and finished the game without killing anyone. This game is alot easier to go non-lethal than its predecessor. Essentially I played it as if I were Sam Fisher with a stun gun.

Yeah my game says I killed one person but I don't know how so hopefully that doesn't ruin a pacifist achievement but I don't care enough to start again. I thought you might of missed quite a few quests with that play time I'm hoping my time with the game lasts a little longer as there isn't any more games for me until BF1, so am just really crawling through and mucking around. There's soooo many side paths and different routes to take for objectives.

Started a new run with a new game +. The found several different ways to do some of the early quests. There really is alot of variation on how to get things done.

So glad I finished the first game before playing this. I see names and I can tie it together, altogether it's honestly like no other narrative I've experienced before. It's such a unique circumstance that's been crafted here.

Only 2 hours in (gotta clock out now), lookin great. I went a bit crazy with the tutorial level and found a surprising amount of paths through it. Thats the good stuff.

Should I play now, or wait for DX12? I am out of town in the weekend anyway.

Finished the game, after what steam tells me took 30 hours for me, but I did spend a lot of time exploring and finding hidden paths, hacking whatever I could and looking for side missions.

Purchased on Steam. I'm out of town this weekend to visit a friend, but will start after finishing everyone gone to rapture.

Really tried to get into human revolution this week to get excited for this game, but just couldn't do it. The action elements aren't good enough to keep me interested.

I'm deep into my 2nd playthrough. I think why I like this game so much, more than its predecessor is that it seems like a more polished Alpha Protocol.

Combat is much better this time around, gunplay is great. I'm balancing between stealth and Rambo, not worrying about a perfect playthrough. If I get into a tough spot and can't stealth it, everyone dies and I have a blast doing it!

Anyone know how to efficiently take down the cops with the power suits? I had to chuck 4 frags at one to put him down, and that seemed like more work than necessary.

Hit them with the stun gun then melee.

Thinking about getting this. It's not necessary to play Human Revolution before playing this is it?

I enjoyed Human Revolution a lot more. I am about 20 hours in. Just made it to Golem City. Anyway, there's just something about the game that feels like the development was rushed. Graphically, I can't complain. It looks really nice maxed out on my PC, but there are performance issues that really need to be addressed. It's a stutterfest. My God it nearly eats up 16gb of memory. As beautiful the game may be, it's not better looking than games like The Witcher 3 or GTA 5 on PC. There's no reason why the game should eat up so much resources and run the way it does in a small and confined environment.

Now for the AI. The game is too easy, even on "Give me Deus Ex" difficulty. This game's AI is possibly the worst I've ever experienced in a AAA game. I could run circles around them and not get caught. I could grab an AI from behind a crate and knock it out without getting noticed by other AI that are right in their field of view. Hell, I've done it to an AI that was having a conversation with another AI.

There's a lot of issues with this game's AI that needs to be fixed in order to be a challenging experience and for augmentations to actually serve their purpose.

A short video I made demonstrating how easily the AI is fooled.

I agree with the stuttering on X1 too just in random places it's really jarring, but I don't have a problem with the AI, anytime I have knocked someone out even close to someone's field of view I get spotted. I knock someone out who is having a conversation with someone and they will turn around and spot me, it might be in different scenarios to you I dunno. Most games pretty much suffer from the same problems and I am fine with that or it will be too frustrating to play.

Found a nice little easter egg about Faridah Malik aka Adam's pilot from the previous game. I swear this game has a bunch of secrets that take 2 playthroughs to find.

I tried that last night and he turned around and smashed me to the ground.

Ok didn't see that happening. The stun and melee combo usually works for me. Course I'm stealthing it too and approaching them from behind. I guess try DarkPassenger method to see if it yields better results.

Just completed the game. I am assuming future DLC will wrap things up because the game ended so suddenly. The bossfight lasted 20 seconds and bam, you are back at your apartment. Make sure you stick around for the credits to roll to see a cut scene.

I completed the mission from Jensen's Stories. Why this mission wasn't part of the main story is a mystery. I take it that the developers had no time to include the mission into the main story before the development deadline.

I hope so but I don't put it past Square Enix to wait until the next game to start wrapping stuff up. And I completely agree with you about the Jensen stories.
