I didn't mess with the closed Beta last weekend. I'm getting this game regardless so I felt no need to make the wait harder by playing this demo.

But guys, is D4 an MMO? I have limited experience with MMO(s) but this sure does seem to have a lot of MMO type mechanics, World Bosses, Hub Areas with other players, Required Persistent Online Connection. I've always thought of Diablo as a very soloable experience but I guess that's changed. I wonder if I can shutoff some of the online stuff and just enjoy the game alone if I choose to.

Not an MMO, but it does have some shared world elements.

I think it would be more comparable to Forza Horizon 5, Elden Ring, etc. where it is primarily single player, but being online provides shared online experiences.

Daughters first birthday party this weekend so its gonna be tough. Might need to do some late night sessions.

Ahhhh, I see. Thanks for those examples which help me better understand how these systems are going to work in D4.

If you do not play in the Beta, you will miss out on the wolfpup which they are giving away free for anyone level above 20.


Not saying you should play, but I thought you should know.

That's the only reason I got to 20 and bailed out.

I didn't want to go to far into the campaign or anything. Just wanted to try out the Rogue and get to 20.
 
About 10 hours? I played a little on Friday night and mostly Sat. afternoon. It was my first playthrough and testing builds, etc. I'm sure that can be lowered. I barely touched the main quest. I did mostly side stuff and explored.

Ok good deal I’ll have time to play Fri night and Sat morning will be busy after that. I should hit 20 no problem.

If you don't care about your build and just want get to 20, you'll do fine.

I'm not sure yet. We still have a few months to go before release so I'm waiting for more information on whether they'll be any differences between PS5 & Xbox.

June is going to be a busy gaming month. The next Final Fantasy releases in the same month and there's no way I'm waiting to play that. It'll be interesting to see how I juggle these two releases.

Downloaded it on my XSX. Hope to play tomorrow morning and see what all the hype is about with DIABLO GAMES!
 
Get ready for some queues! I hopped on COD through Battle.net and had a short queue just to get logged in to run MW2. This was just last night and presumably people preloading lol. I've never seen that on Bnet in all my years, even when Destiny was on there.
 
The one good thing about their queues is that it's accurate. I haven't had one where it bumped up time or just sat their like nothing is happening. If it says 60 minutes, then it's 60 minutes.

Well, if I have a queue longer than 10 minutes, I am not waiting. Can I play single player in the demo?

No. Last week the queues were bad on Friday. After that, things were much smoother.

I know one of things they'll be testing is server capacity, so they'll probably push things to the point where queues are to be expected.

I would check the queue and time it out to where I wanted to play. So, if I knew I wanted to play at 8pm, then I would launch and see what the queue times were. If it was 7 and a 60 minute queue time, I would let it sit.

I know it's not fun or anything.

That's a good idea actually. I can just have it sitting in queue, and then watch TV on the little TV next to our big TV and monitor the queue.

Same. I have some friends who are getting it on XSX and one who's getting it on PS5, so I can't decide which to grab. May end up being a weird situation where I end up getting it on both systems so I can play with everyone.

Maybe there's cross play and that's completely unnecessary, I guess I should do some research!

Cross play with all different platforms is supported.
