Dragon Age: Inquisition - Nov. 18

Finished "trespasser". If you get any of the dlcs, THIS is the one to get. Trespasser serves as an epilogue to the main quest line. A few of the decisions and choices you made along the way are mentioned directly and indirectly in this new content.

Pros:
New party banter
New out of combat scenes with party members
New locals to visit
New weapon/armor
The questline directly answers some of the big questions that the ending left ambiguous and also answers some of the series-long unanswered questions.

Cons:
The content is short. I got through it in 3 hours.
Based on length, content is SEVERELY over priced. Something Bioware has been having issues with as of late.
Purely my opinion, but this content feels like it was cut and repackaged to sell as dlc. Having finished it, the original end point doesn't feel as complete as this new one does.

Neutral:
Trespasser's ending is unambiguous. From it we know exactly where the next game will take place and who will be the main antagonist. I can't wait to see what Bioware's writers cook up for DA 4.

Rambling as it is very early in the morning here but this is the dlc to get if you're going to continue with the next Dragon Age game. Trespasser drops too many big revelations for the hardcore fan to pass up. But wait for it to go on sale as it isn't very long.

Would you mind summarizing the main story revelations, using spoiler tags? I'm not going to be able to play the expansion, but I'd like to know what the main reveals were.

How much are they charging for it, btw?

They are selling it for $14.99.

1. The anchor is currently killing the Inquisitor. ....

2. Two years after Corypheus' defeat, Solas has amassed a network of spies and agents large and capable enough to hinder the Qunari. Many of his spies are also planted in the Inquisition which is how he uncovered the Qunari plot to invade southern Thedas. He disrupted the plot by having his agents discreetly help the Inquisitor uncover the Qunari invasion.

3. Solas confirms to Inquisitor that he is indeed Fen'Harel the Elven Trickster god. However, The 11 elven Gods were not gods at all but just VERY powerful mages. Solas and Mythal were the kindest and fairest of the elven gods. However the other gods were greedy and egotistical and treated their elven subjects bad. Eventually the gods betrayed Mythal and killed her. In response, Solas CREATED the Veil and banished them to other side side aka the Fade. By doing this Solas subsequently slow killed the elves as their entire civilization was built on magic and being able to communicate with the fade. Creating the veil sapped all of his strength thus his weakness and long slumber preceding the game. Since waking up and seeing how the world treats elves, he is resolved to fix his error by removing the veil.

4. By removing the veil, the current world will be destroyed.

5. Solas warns the Inquisitor about the inevitability of an organization as large as the Inquisition becoming corrupt, and that it in fact already has. As the Inquisitor doubles over in pain from the Anchor, he/she can declare that they will either stop Solas's plan or redeem him and show him that the world that exists now is worth saving. Then he uses his magic to sever the Inquisitor's left forearm, preventing the Anchor from killing them

6. The final choice in front of the new Divine, is whether to Disband the Inquisition or allow it to be controlled by others. The advantage of disbanding is allowing for a smaller Inquisitor led group to take up the fight against Solas that is relatively free of corruption and not accountable to anyone. The cons are that you lose alot of members and financial/political clout. The advantage of staying together is that you retain members, have a large force to react to Solas and you still have the backing of Fereldon and Orlais. The cons is that the organization is corruptible.

7. The new organization vows to fight Solas and on the map the Inquisitor marks the Teventer imperium with his knife.

8. Subsequently, we know know less AND more about the lore of DA. We know know Solas created the Veil not The Maker. This throws the Chantry into a very precarious position given their stance on the maker. It also asks more questions such as could the OLD Gods of Teventer be related to the elven gods stuck behind the veil? It also leads to what exactly is the Black City in the fade. And who/what resides there now?

Wow, thanks a lot, wshowers, for writing all that out. That's quite a lot that went down. I feel more prepared for DA4 now. Kind of wish I'd been able to play that DLC. It sounds like a really meaty one, with a lot of major plot points and big choices.

I'm pretty sure I missed something but that's all I could remember off the top of my head.

Think I will get the Trespasser dlc. Need to install the game again, lucky I have backup of savings sow does not have to do everything over again.

Finished the Trespasser dlc, was great, but short, took me about 7 hours or sow (did run a bit around trying to find hidden stuff).
Gone be interesting to see where it goes from here.

And did also see that Dragon Age: Inquisition is still 60 % off on Origin, not sure how long gone last.

FC3 was not even close to being the worst offender of this, but I get the idea. I think AC: Black Flag was probably the worst offender as far as pointless tasks and collectibles.

I think it comes down to preference. The side quests in Inquisition didn't get repetitive for me. I logged over 400 hours on just my first character alone. I enjoy doing all the side quests and what not because I like the little things in games. I strongly believe people just have short attention spans and want in your face ball crushing mountain dew fueled missions to occupy their time.

An example is The Division, there is plenty to do in the game, but I've yet to come across someone that has done every side quest and collected every piece of Intel in the game.

I couldn't play Inquisition. The series has been around for so long, and yet still every character has a hair piece made of ridged ceramic glass. I can't do innovation like that.

I've been avoiding Dragon Age because the story is so deep and all the dialog and back story development depth. I love Far Cry because there are so many fun things to do and you can do them so many different ways. Guess I just want to be entertained after a long hard day at the office and don't always need to be emotionally tied to it. Not that that isn't good too, just depends on my current mood and/or amount of free time at my disposal. For example, I most skimmed your article because of its length, but another time I would love to sit down and read the whole thing.
You should totally give it a go!

Unless you've played The Witcher 3. Its hard to go back after that.

Maybe its all teething during gamings puberty?

10-15 years ago, more contect/collectibles were better, no matter what.

Now, developers are trying to refine and finesse the sweet point.

There's a fine line between bountiful, and too much s***.
