EA Access: Sony's response, is it the future of gaming and does it affect gamers?

Right now the only thing I don't like is that I already have Battlefield 4 and Peggle 2, and I don't play sports games. As the selection widens and the program expands onto other platforms (which I'm sure it will) I am definitely signing up.

He's desperate.... He doesn't act like this anymore @ neogaf
I like to rustle jimmies and his appear easy to rustle. It was meant nothing more than a joke considering perhaps a more pro Playstation fan and all replies were from Pro Xbox. Hell if I could get Flynn to label it a funny then my job is complete.

Aren't they? They'll find any way to spin a negative into a positive. This is going to be a mistake for Sony. EA Access is going to be big reason to buy an Xbox One in the future. Count on it.

I thought Sony could opt back in if they wanted to in the future if the model becomes more popular.

Talk about spin. Sony made the right call and losing 60+% of the marketplace to sell this crap to, should work well to keep this nonsense from EA and copy cats from taking hold.

I doubt they would do a 180, it's not their style.

So screwing gamers out of gaming content at a huge discount is the right call? I guess Sony is calling all the shots this gen. If i'm a PS only gamer and i love EA's games i'd be pissed. Oh wait, i forgot. PS fans like getting ripped off with all those HD collections anyway. This is right down their alley.

What's there to be pissed about? Missing out on having to pay to play old games that anyone with any interest in would have already bought or is it the paid demos?

I don't agree with Sony's move here.

Too much fanboy crap itt for a serious discussion.

I actually agree with you on both points.

Guys lets stop the veiled insults and negative generalizations.

I think people are underestimating this move for now. However I can see this partnership really taking off in the future as this generation goes forward.
I don't think it was a good move for Sony, but they are the market leader and they made a decision. Only time will tell if it was the right one.

Ho! Playing Madden right now! This is awesome! And all for $5. Great move by MS here.

EDIT: Well, $2.50 anyway. Im not sure if its because of the price or that this Madden is improved but the animation, gameplay are all solid. WTF?

If its a big deal, Sony will add it. Would be bigger news to me if it was an exclusive deal. If it becomes important it would be on the PS4 eventually.

I think it was the part where you get good games for a good price. Do you know what a deal is? Or do you enjoy paying full price for things while others get a discount? Are you telling me people don't watch old shows on Netflix? Hey, if it's not brand new who needs it right? Who would possibly want to play Fifa, Madden and other EA games at a cheap premium instead of having to fork over extra money? The fact people had a problem with DRM but excuse Sony's decision on this is just laughable. But it was expected.

This is exclusive mane....

I haven't seen anywhere that Sony couldn't add it, i have only seen they don't choose to add it. Its exclusive in that regard its one thing, if Sony cannot add it at any point, then its a bigger deal.

Well, unless Sony is willing to have competing subscriptions that go head to head with its very own PS+ and PS Now, I dont see them adding something like this for a while. Still though, they are leading the pack for now and really arent in a position where they really NEED to do something like this. But they arent out of the woods though. This changes the landscape, big time.

It'll be funny when Sony wants to add it and EA tells them no. I'm not a big fan of EA to begin with. Some of their choices in the past and their lack of Wii U support irks me but i'd just laugh if they shut Sony down once EA Access takes off and the Xbox One takes the lead in sales or something. You know Sony would come crawling back at that point.

Or Sony would then just get Activision in there pocket and it becomes an arms race. EA isn't going to blow off Sony if Sony wants to talk to them.

Doesn't EA have an early access subscription package for their sports games already? I know this is more than just their sports titles, relax. As someone who has yet to get one of the new systems, this isn't much of an incentive. Yeah, you get a whopping 10% discount and the ability to play older games...meh. I still don't know which route to go PS4 or DaOne.

They do, its called season ticket. Its $24.99, its not on PS4 or X1 i believe. I got its the first year but only used it for the football games, so i didn't bother after that.

I think that EA would definitely want a part of the beast that is the PS4 right now if Sony ever changed their mind. That's an extra 7-8 million gamers and counting. They'd be foolish to turn that down.
