EA Access: Sony's response, is it the future of gaming and does it affect gamers?

Sony is calling the shots this gen. Like they always say. The generation starts when they say it does. Get a second job if you want our machine. Etc.

For the time being. Sony can add it later down the line if they wished judging from what the article said. It'd just be embarassing for them if they did.

"While Sony could certainly change its mind down the line, we don’t expect that to happen any time soon. "
So.......................................................its exclusive. Right?o_O

That quote pretty much says exclusive to me.

Yes, I agreed with you it's exclusive right now because Sony turned EA down to be part of their Access program.

No... it was the other way around. Sony turned EA (Access) down.
Well, I mean, if EA was so inclined to put EA Access on the 4 due to its millions and millions of consoles sold, I'm sure they could've made something happen, right? They surely have the money if it were that serious. Thats alot of consoles out there....

One thing in business and in life that is constant; there is ALWAYS a way.

Yes... they just tried. Sony just declined for the time being.

Doesnt that seem like something a wack job would do though? It's pretty odd when you look at it a little closer. JMHO

Like seriously? WTF would they allow the competition to have something like this from the worlds biggest publisher in the world and not allow the same thing on their platform. I dunno mate. Just seems f***in' weird! o_O

EA and Sony are too much alike to get along. They're both stubborn as all hell. Opposites attract and these two have probably never really seen eye to eye. I mean, is it a shock that Microsoft had a partnership already in place with EA during the reveal of the One? EA and Microsoft are on the same page. They're both in the business of making money.

Like you say... it may compete with their own subscription service PS Now or they could just be seeing if the model gets popular down the road or just a combination of both.

Well, they know its EA. So that means a trusted legacy of GUARANTEED fan favorites and more. Madden. NHL. Fifa etc. The deal in and of itself is sensational and many a gamer will enjoy its fruits, not to mention its a win for every party involved. And Sony STILL.....said no. Thats nuts!

Sony said they didn't want no parts of it.
Sounds like you and Sony been smoking the same chit!

J/K mate. But they were nuts not to. Just sayin'. Does this make sense to you VaLL. Give me your honest opinion, bruh: If you had to choose between having this service on the 4 and not having it, which would you choose?

Why I don't want it...not sure who does.

Oh well EA don't put out enough quality games every year for me to even consider this service.
Not much to discuss.

Mass Effect
Mirrors Edge
Dragons Age
Battlefield Hardline
Star Wars Battlefront
Battlefield
Madden
Fifa
Titanfall
UFC
Need for Speed
Burnout
PGA Tour
Deadspace (lols)
NHL

Theres a few good games in there IMO.

After purchasing Gaikai for $400milion and years of pouring money into it and restructuring that company to suit their needs.. it would be idiotic to try and undermine that with a competing service. With that said, it doesn't benefit the gamers since it prematurely kills off a potential choice for them.

They put out 5 worth mentioning games a year? No

For my tastes, there are 5 that I will 100% be buying within the next 12 months.

For others that might be into sports though, that number goes up. Then you have to factor in DLC and such and whether or not those extra Vault games are a value to you. While I might not buy the sports titles new, ever... ever. I would definitely play them knowing I could get them in a collection this cheap. Not even factoring in other titles that might be coming out that I haven't noted.

How in the world did you come to that conclusion?

The cost of making games has increased, it makes sense that the price to purchase them should a little bit as well. I'm old enough to have paid that much for some N64 games so it wouldn't be a shock to me to pay that price again. I'm not saying I want games to go up in price but I'd rather have that than ever publisher starting their own subscription service.

Uhhh... "yah". Many people who play sports/EA games will be interested in this service.

What kind of reply is that?

Doesn't work as the majority of console gamers AREN'T digital only nor does the small size of the user base help..
Maybe in a few years when the user base is large/r but not now and you still have that digital problem.

The majority of gamers won't subscribe to the service period. Those people can still buy the retail copy of the game. On top of this, a good number of other people would go digital if prices were cheaper. This service will make digital prices cheaper on EA games. People will be able to save money on digital versions of EA games while at the same time getting those games early.

Cry more. And I already gave my opinion on the matter.

Yes, even though I'm having an actual discussion that isn't one word replies and/or calling people names, I'm the one that's desperate.

And, no, I would "be the same way on GAF" if people acted that way there. Fortunately, many people actually, you know, discuss their points instead of making one word replies and/or calling people fanboys since they lack the ability to make good points.

I didn't get "rustled" at all. Just find it stupid/immature.

I've read that this "early access" EA is talking about is roughly 2 hours per title.

No, it ranges based on the game. The max is 5 days before retail. Two hours before release would make sense for a small pick up and play game like Peggle but we'll see what happens. Think the mention of two hours is just them wanting to come forward and say that not all games will have the same amount of early access time to not make people feel as if they got tricked into getting the service.

I doubt very many people buy 5-6 EA titles per year, most people probably buy between 1-3 EA titles per year, and no I wasn't trying to push my buying habits on you.

I'm pretty sure many people don't buy 5-6 EA games per year... heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of people don't buy 5-6 $60 console games per year period.

But as I said before, people don't have to buy that many games to benefit from the service. They could get the $5 plan, get a game early and get a 10% discount on it which would equal getting an EA game digitally for $1 less while at the same time being able to play the game before it releases in stores.

Your opinion. If you aren't interested in the games then you don't have to get the service.

I'm not interested in anime at all but I'm not going to tell people why they shouldn't subscribe to a service like Crunchyroll.

EA sports games have been a mixed the last few years.
Madden(a game I buy for my son) is a joke compared to Football games from the past.(regardless of what you been saying for years)
NBA LOL
NHL soso
UFC soso
With Fifa being the only solid offering from them.
In North America NBA 2K rules the roost.

No you post different over @ gaf as I posted before about you. They don't like stealth trolling or people acting unbiased when they are not.
