Same here especially the VATS targeting and slo mo, I've heard so many complain about that for one reason or another but personally I never ever ever ever never ever got tired of watching an enemy head discombobulate in slo mo to AR fire or see a limb or head get pinned to the wall by the railway rifle . Size of map doesn't bother me as much as the density of the map itself. I don't care if your map takes five hours to run across, you'd better give me plenty of stuff to do in it. A big open world but hardly anything to do any it makes the size null and void.
There is slight reason to worry, as honestly I'd figure that after keeping it under wraps for so long the end result would be massive. But map/quest "density" is certainly the way to make up for it. Something like MGS5's africa is decidedly not the way to do it. Large expanses of nothing. which i guess parts of africa are..
New vegas had a pretty similar sized map, but had points throughout that meant you couldnt cut a straight line through. I didn't watch the video due to spoilers (even trees are to me at this point) but what 2 corners did he run to? you can run from the ranger monument to the coast in a pretty short time in new vegas too.
Also not to defend fallout or attack GTA, but god, the size of GTA5's map is a legitimate downer.So much useless space..great for races I guess but what was the point of all those damn vineyards.

I've heard anywhere from double the size of F3 to 3.2 times the size. It's bigger for sure.

They finish near Christmas time, so I got some nice time off until I start my next adventure in January which is based on a big team of superheroes
The PipBoy App is available now. On it, you can get a good look at the map. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed by how much of it is covered with water. I'm not going to let it get me down though.
Dunno if I will like it but my son is a fan and his Pip boy Edition arrives Tuesday... but he waits for Christmas to play it.
