4 hours in and loving it. The surrealness of when you reach the grasslands for the first time was something I was not expecting.
The lead, Cloud, sucks as a far as his character goes (I like his combat). I would rather have Tifa, Red or Barret.
For fun combat:
S-tier (best): Yuffie
A-tier: Tifa (still overpowered and can combo and stagger enemies very quickly)
B-tier: Red XIII, Cait Sith, Aerith, Cloud
C-tier: Barret
We can go by history, square games don't sell well on xbox. As far as the other JRPG's, who knows what those budgets are and if MS pays them anything to release the games on the console? If Square wouldn't just leave money on the table, if they thought they'd make more money putting the game out on xbox they would do it, Sony isn't making them take these deals Square are the ones that control how this works.Agree to disagree. If the audience wasn't there, every JRPG would be skipping xbox. Sega and Bandai Namco seem to agree with putting their flagship titles on xbox day and date with other platforms. This is a weird thing between Square and Microsoft that Xbox needs to resolve.
FF16, by Square's President's own words, did not meet the high end of the company’s expectations due in part to the PS5’s more limited install base at the time. So the question becomes IF it had lauched on Xbox as well would it have made it's sales expectations? Who knows but given its sales numbers, we know a PC port is coming down the line, and it wouldn't surprise me if an Xbox version was in the works too.
It also wouldn't surprise me if their other big JRPG IP in the pipeline, Dragon Quest XII was multplatform on Day 1.
What does that have to do with anything? It's a complete game lol.The last FF released on Xbox is not only a prequel but also a game that ends with the intro to a game still not on Xbox.
Can't think why Xbox gamers haven't bought a game they can't continue the story to.
FF MMO(beta) is the top played free game on Xbox right now.

Are you talking about Crisis Core? Because that isn't a prequel to the remake. Its a prequel to the original game. And only a very small part of the story. Which is a big factor in a game life FF. No point starting if you can't finish it.
Isn't the remake THE original game? Are you talking about Crisis Core? Because that isn't a prequel to the remake. Its a prequel to the original game.
Weird. I always read that this 3 part FF7 was the OG FF7 from 1997, but story line more fleshed out and same characters.

While the story remains the same from the original version, Reunion is part of the larger Final Fantasy VII Remake project, being considered a prequel to the three-part remake series
A friend from work was just in my office, who is a FF freak, and says that this is INDEED a remake of the original FF7, fleshed out. He says it is NOT even remotely a sequel. It was thought to be that at announcement but it's now considered a sequel / reimagine.

Yup, he sure has. Put in 150 hours into it. His life revolves around FF, Magic the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons. He is a massive FF nerd.He played the game ?

I’m Convinced FF7 Rebirth Is A Sequel To The 1997 Original
A scene between Cloud and Aerith during the State of Play trailer has my mind connecting all the dotskotaku.com
And lots more where that came from. I've played the first extensively and am in the belief it's a sequel because of some twists
