Official Thread For Honor

That internet requirement for single player campaign is going to rub people wrong.

That internet requirement for single player campaign is going to rub people wrong.

Yeah it has already. Read a lot of negative comments about that. I hope it doesn't put to many people off because this really is a good game.

Yep, just like nearly every Ubi game lately, this leaves me out with the mandatory internet connection.

Anyone get a invite on there Uplay account for the technical test that started today?

Oh. I'll need to check my uplay account and see if there is anything there.

I got an email about it... didn't bother doing anything with it but maybe I will.
They said something about being able to invite someone else if you get in. If you do and have no one else to invite I would really appreciate it.

I'm on PC if that works? Not sure if invites work across platform but feel free to shoot me a friend request on uPlay: ToxicVampire

Ok wonder if you'll need Gold to play it as well.

And all those poor soldiers that can't have their consoles online!

If you didn't know, a technical test for For Honor has been running for the last few days. It's only open to players on PC, only to a select few, and those playing are subject to NDA.

But apparently not all is well. Things are so borked, in fact, that one of the testers has gone out on a limb and uploaded a video showing just how broken the game is right now.

The video, which was uploaded to the smaller sharing site Vidme, showcases some pretty severe issues with the matchmaking. Now while we don't know where the uploader lives, what the quality of their internet connection is like, or particular details that could result in some of the issues seen, it does at least give us a better indication of what For Honor will look like (at least in terms of the front-end) at launch.
The game looks pretty, but I don't entirely 'get' the game.

I played in the Alpha(not the technical test) and the matchmaking was fine.

I wouldn't take this technical test impression/video too seriously. There is a beta coming in January.

Not sure what it is you don;t get. Think of it as an FPS game but melee based instead of guns. In the alpha the multiplayer mode was basically king of the hill but with 3 points to hold.

I had tonnes of fun with the alpha.

The hook is what I don't get. I see it as Overwatch, but with swords... And stylised into something a lot more serious.

I'm just not vibing with it.

I'm probably just wishing this was another Ass Creed game lol.

Yeah there was no problem with match making in the Alpha but I didn't try out every mode. Unless something dramatically changes in the beta this is a day one for me.

Try to get into the beta. This game really doesn't feel like anything else I've played for a long time. It feels really fresh which is great. The melee combat system is kind of complex but you pick it up easily enough. Then with the AI battling all around you as well it just has a great atmosphere.

This isn't the game for me I think.

I get why you like it, and I think it's brilliant that people are pushing gameplay, but I honestly don't enjoy multiplayer games unless they're RPG's.

Ah ok. I wouldn't call this an RPG at all. You can customise your character but you don't level them up from what I recall.

It is an RPG. You play the role of a bad ass ancient fighter who likes to make people suffer in very brutal ways.

I think the best way to describe For Honour from a gameplay standpoint would be to say it is a Dark Souls MOBA game.

I wouldn't call it an RPG. That means you're wrong. Fact.
