Mother****ers seem to think Epic will be dropping Fortnite news on Tuesday at Nintendo presser/pre taped thingamajig. I guess this will be flying over the convention center pretty soon.

Celebrity Pro AM E3 event is starting in 30 minutes...

Fortnite has 1.5 million viewers on Twitch right now. I repeat, 1.5 million viewers.

You can now call me The Oracle.

Epic just stealth announced that 125 million people have played Fortnite.

For reference, the United States has 325 million people.

Also, Fortnite on Switch has been downloaded 2 million times in the first 24 hours of release.

Sony just released a public response to the Fortnite backlash...

"We’re always open to hearing what the PlayStation community is interested in to enhance their gaming experience. Fortnite is already a huge hit with PS4 fans, offering a true free-to-play experience so gamers can jump in and play online. With 79 million PS4s sold around the world and more than 80 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network, we’ve built a huge community of gamers who can play together on Fortnite and all online titles. We also offer Fortnite cross-play support with PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices, expanding the opportunity for Fortnite fans on PS4 to play with even more gamers on other platforms."

Starts out with a promising first sentence. Then crashes into "We're number one so STFU" language. If I had to guess, I think Sony ultimately flips their stance on this just as long as there's constant pressure from fans moving forward.

With that being said it's kind of a crazy story. We've known about Sony's stance forever. Then Fortnite gets released on the Switch, which is a terrible platform for online games, and the uproar starts all over again.

It's not so much their stance on crossplay. Crossplay just happens to be the underlying cause for their stance which sparked this. I'd imagine most of these people would be happy if only the crossbuy/account lock-out issue was addressed, even if they didn't actually change their stance on crossplay.

The actual problem is that people are locked out of using their Unreal accounts on Xbox and Switch IF that account has ever been linked to a PSN account.

This could be PC players who maybe linked their PSN accounts years and years ago and then they go to play on Switch, whichhas crossplay and crossbuy with PC and they're coming to find out they cannot use their account, they can't use their progress, they can't use their Battle Pass etc etc... Same goes for someone who maybe had a PC account attached to PSN and then bought an Xbox down the line and decided to play; they're finding out en masse that they're f***ed and it's because Sony not only doesn't allow crossplay and crossbuy, but they also have some kind of mandate with Epic that said account attached to PSN cannot be used on consoles other than PS4/PSN.

People have Unreal Engine purchases, tons of unlocks and Season Pass's etc etc.. that's what the uproar is about. I think you'll see pointing towards crossplay as the issue, because it is indeed the underlying reason the problem exists, if they had an open policy on crossplay this would've never happened. Xbox and Switch crossplay and crossbuy works fine.

The Guided Rocket Launcher, in my opinion the most fun/interesting weapon in Fortnite looks to be making its return as a backpack item.

It was removed last time because it took rocket ammo which could be spammed to the exhaustion of opponents. This new version will most likely have a set number of ammo (my guess is 5) to bring it back to balance.

Today is a good day.

Fortnite is getting a Stink Bomb weapon tomorrow morning. It should act like a poison grenade used to flush enemies out of cover.

However, more interesting is that players might be getting the ability to launch the nuke from the villains base tomorrow as well.

I didn't even know there was a villains base! Gonna start playing tonight, again.

It's right outside Snobby Shores (Northeast) on the nearest mountain. Unfortunately, the update didn't give us the ability to launch the nuke this week. Might be an end of season 4 thing?

Interesting article explaining why Sony is doing the right thing in terms of not allowing crossplay with Fortnite.

https://www.mcvuk.com/business/midi...hould-play-the-walled-garden-game-on-fortnite

"PlayStation is a chip leader, protecting a not-so-growing console gamer market
Console ownership is flat. In Q4 2016, 36 per cent of consumers in the English-speaking markets owned a games console, compared to 30 per cent in Q4 2017. Because console adoption is not growing, competitive platform wars are all about convincing existing console gamers to switch to a rival platform by the time the next generation of hardware comes out."

Yea we understand, however they are being completely anti gamer/consumer here.

I don’t understand how Sony can get away with holding an account hostage. It’s a real douche move to lock down someone’s account to their platform as is the case with Fortnite on PS. I wouldn’t be surprised if this spawns a lawsuit against Sony.

I understand why Sony doesn’t want to do cross-play and that’s fine. But locking down someone’s account is just a really scummy thing to do and comes off as an act of desperation to hold on to their lead by any means. Funny thing is, Sony doesn’t need to stoop to this level as the quality of their services and games speak for themselves. I really feel the bad press Sony is getting for Fortnite is self inflicted. Sony has shown they can do better than this.

I think we're losing sight of what is actually important here.

Epic games is giving players the ability to launch a nuke on its battle Royale map, in each and every match.

We're witnessing the first Acanthostega emerge from the ocean and take it's first step on land. In five years, we're going to laugh at how static the current crop of BR maps are. This is momentous!!

Epic saying some sweet sweet words about the meta today.

https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US/news/counterplay-and-play-styles

"It's important to support a variety of late game strategies, that don't boil down to 'just build lol'," Epic said.

"We strongly believe that the evolution of Fortnite supports a wide range of play styles and counterplay. Currently, the superiority of shotguns, rockets and uncapped building are such a dominant play-style in the final circle that most other strategies are being drowned out."

The Fortnite subreddit is in full meltdown mode. People are dumb, lol.

The New York Knicks selected Kevin Knox with the 9th pick in the draft last night. This is what he wore...

Fortnite is so clearly the game of this generation.
