Did my first multiplayer race this past weekend, Featured Multiplayer. Talk about trash. It said that the match connection was poor, and the cars were twitching all over the place during the race.

Hey everyone! There will be a change to how you download #ForzaMotorsport Update 10 compared to previous versions. Update 10 will be released in two phases: starting on Wednesday, July 10, players will download the first part which includes the new car and event content, as well as minor improvements to Hockenheim and Catalunya, additional aero wings, and Replay UI changes. This will be followed by a second download – release timing to be confirmed as soon as details are available – that includes the remaining features and fixes for Update 10. Our Update 10 Overview video will focus solely on the event content included with the first phase of the update, while the accompanying blog post and release notes – to be posted tomorrow morning – will also detail the fixes and features included in the second update download. Thanks for your understanding as we worked through these final details! We look forward to getting Update 10, as well as its new features and improvements out to you soon.

Just finished the Career mode. Great looking tracks, loved the rain/day/night on every track. Loved that you were taken on all the tracks and configurations through the career. You got to experience all different types of production cars. Segment tracker is great, but stresses me out when I have a bad segment 😎. Penalties are great to have, except for the times it wasn't accurate IMO.

Forza's physics for simcades and track/environment graphics for racing sims/simcades are best on consoles. Car graphics need a lot of work. They also need to incorporate actual race cars in the Builders Cup career. Everything about racing felt great in the career. Adding the ability to pick your spot in the line up, standing starts and rolling starts, actual pit crews.

But in the end, the career layout just didn't feel, well, fun in the implementation. As cheesy as the Cafe Menu's are in GT7, and the real life race drivers giving you advice in GT7, license tests, the career experience in GT7 was more fun. While the actual racing wasn't as good as Forza, everything else about the career made GT7 more fun. Kinda hard to explain.

I would give this game a 7.5/10

Forza Motorsport Update 10 will be released in two phases. The first download includes the car and event content, as well as minor improvements to Catalunya and Hockenheim, an additional wing option for 18 cars, and Replay UI changes. This will be followed by a second download – release timing to be confirmed as soon as details are available – that includes the remaining features and fixes for Update 10, most notably the Car Proximity Radar, and for PC players, an option to disable TAA and an updated VRAM estimator.

Forza Motorsport Update 10, Nemesis Month, invites you to experience some of the most infamous automotive rivalries on the racetrack. This update introduces the Nemesis Tour alongside new events in Multiplayer and Rivals that showcase intense racing battles.
A new Proximity Radar helps identify cars in your blind spots, making it easier to avoid unintentional collisions and keep the racing clean, especially when using cockpit, hood, or bumper cameras. Enable and adjust options for this feature in Settings under Gameplay & HUD. We would love to hear your feedback about this highly requested feature on the Suggestions Hub to help inform future iterations.
In this update, Replay includes a new vertical driver list to more easily select the car on focus, a new track map, and HUD visibility options. A major Replay update will soon follow, adding dynamically updated race positions and data to the driver list, as well as a lap counter and new camera types.
Over in Featured Multiplayer, the Forza GT Series has been split into GT2 and GT3 categories to make the racing even more fun, balanced and authentic to real-world motorsport. Forza GT2 and Forza GT3 Spec Series will rotate each week during Nemesis Month, and we will introduce a separate Forza GT4 Spec Series in the next update.
Finally, the Big Country Labs aero wing has been added as a customization option for 18 cars in the game – the full list is available below under the Car Customization header.

Experience Improvements

  • Car Proximity Radar is here! A much-requested feature by our players, this new HUD element helps identify when cars are in your blind spots, making it easier to avoid unintentional collisions and keep the racing clean. Car Proximity Radar can be enabled from the settings menu, where you can also choose which HUD location works best for you.
  • Replay Mode: saved race replays now include a new vertical driver list to more easily select the car on focus, a new track map, HUD visibility options, and navigation improvements for mouse and keyboard users.

Bug Fixes and Improvements
PC
Developer’s Note:
We have fixed an issue where shift times could be slightly different based on your PC’s FPS refresh rate. The Forza Motorsport community was extremely helpful in providing data that allowed us to home in on the problem. We had an issue in our code where our shifting state machine was not being updated in our inner-most simulation update code. We moved the shifting state machine to the inner-most (high frequency) part of our update, as well as ensuring that our high-frequency update is running at a consistent frequency across various framerates on PC. We were able to run automated benchmark code to time our cars 60-150MPH at various framerates and framerate ranges – with and without the fix – to validate the problem and the fix.
  • The VRAM Estimator in PC settings has been made much more accurate. Players should review their settings after Update 9 is downloaded to verify that they’re not using too much VRAM. This is particularly true for players with GPUs that have 4-8 GB of VRAM because some settings can push usage over the limit.
  • There is now an option to disable TAA completely on PC. This option is for players who prefer to use their own form of driver-level anti-aliasing. Find the new setting in the Display tab.
  • Fixed a bug allowing players on PCs with poor performance to gain a time advantage over other players [1803862].
  • An option to enable or disable Motion Blur in cockpit view has been added to the PC settings menu. [1723433]
  • Fixed an issue where the player is unable to reboot after changing their game settings using controller or keyboard. [1762936]
Tracks [All Platforms]
This update introduces numerous fixes to two existing tracks: Catalunya and Hockenheim. To accommodate these changes, leaderboards for both tracks and their individual layouts have been reset.
Catalunya
  • Fixed several instances of objects popping into the player’s view across various areas of the track.
  • Fixed an issue with a ghosted sign collision across the track overpass.
  • Fixed an issue with missing geometry on the track rumble strip.
  • Fixed an issue where players could bump into an invisible collision on the track.
Hockenheim
  • Fixed an issue where the collision zone for a concrete barrier was misaligned.
  • Fixed several instances of objects popping into the player’s view across various areas of the track.
  • Fixed an issue where the collision zone for a rumble strip placed shortly after the start line had a chance to egregiously lift the car in an unnatural manner. [1791639]
  • Updated instances of low-resolution vegetation across the track environment.
Gameplay [All Platforms]
  • Fixed an issue causing some players to disconnect after finishing a Featured Multiplayer race. [1723933]
  • Fixed an issue causing RPMs to momentarily spike higher than expected when downshifting. [1770765]
  • Fixed an issue causing unintended camera shake when understeering. [1771739]
  • Fixed an issue where a player in second place could get a crash when the player in first place changed their car during the Practice race of a series event. [1776127]
  • Fixed an issue where tires for cars with wide body kit upgrades would be shown in the wrong location for other players. [1753813]
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when selecting a car in multiplayer races. [1774574]
  • Fixed a crash that could happen after finishing a Featured Multiplayer race. [1776720]
Drivatar AI [All Platforms]
  • Improved AI merging smoothly into/out of pit lanes. [1775509]
  • Fixed an issue where AI would frequently go off track when alongside the player car. [1734971]
  • Fixed an issue where the AI would drive into the wall before the player gained control in practice on Eaglerock Speedway (Oval). [1655540]
UI [All Platforms]
  • Fixed an issue where the game could crash while changing tabs quickly in the "Find Designs" menu. [1755263]
  • Fixed an issue where game crashes when player mashes the X button while loading into Recommended Designs and attempting to open the Report Content submenu. [1768904]
  • Fixed an issue where car thumbnails flicker when navigating in the My Cars and Select Car menus. [1799131]
  • Enabled Tire wear scalar visibility in the Fuel & Tire menu in Featured Multiplayer. [1766290]
  • Fixed an issue with the “Leisure Cruise” Achievement not unlocking for some players despite meeting the criteria. [1681510]
  • Fixed an issue where attempting to import liveries from previous titles in the My Designs menu will sometimes cause the game to crash. [1728757]
  • Updated the description for Tire Wear settings in Free Play and Private Multiplayer. [1757041]

In addition to new events across Career, Multiplayer and Rivals that showcase intense racing rivalries, Forza Motorsport Update 10 introduces Car Proximity Radar, Replay UI improvements, the Big Country Labs aero wing option for select cars, and splits the Forza GT Spec Series in Featured Multiplayer into Forza GT2 and Forza GT3.

Our friends at Gillette, Logitech G and Mobil 1 also have a calendar of intense Featured Rivals that will be open for participation throughout Nemesis Month!

EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENTS

A new Proximity Radar helps identify cars in your blind spots, making it easier to avoid unintentional collisions and keep the racing clean, especially when using cockpit, hood, or bumper cameras. Enable and adjust options for Car Proximity Radar in Settings under Gameplay & HUD, where you can also choose which HUD location works best for you. We would love to hear your feedback about this highly requested feature on the Suggestions Hub to help inform future iterations.

There are also improvements to saved race replays. In this update, Replay includes a new vertical driver list to more easily select the car on focus, a new track map, HUD visibility options, and navigation improvements for mouse and keyboard users. A major Replay update will soon follow, adding dynamically updated race positions and data to the driver list, as well as a lap counter and new camera types.

Additionally, the VRAM Estimator in PC settings has been made more accurate. Players should review their settings after Update 10 is downloaded to verify that they’re not using too much VRAM. This is particularly true for players with GPUs that have 4-8 GB of VRAM because some settings can push usage over the limit.

Finally, there is now an option to disable TAA completely on PC. This option is for players who prefer to use their own form of driver-level anti-aliasing. Find the new setting in the Display tab.

GAME FIXES AND RELEASE NOTES

Update 10 rolls out for download starting Wednesday, July 10 at 10:00 AM PT / 5:00 PM UTC on Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam. Spotlight cars and new in-game events also begin on Wednesday, July 10 starting at 5:00 PM PT (12:00 AM UTC on Thursday, July 11).

Below is a snapshot of the fixes in Update 10. Head on over to Forza Support to find the full release notes:

  • Numerous fixes to Catalunya address object popping, missing geometry on the rumble strip, a ghosted sign across the overpass, and an invisible collision.
  • Numerous fixes to Hockenheim address object popping, a misaligned concrete barrier and collision, and low-resolution vegetation across the track.
  • Fixed an issue where the game would crash while changing tabs quickly in the "Find Designs" menu. [1755263]
  • Fixed an issue causing some players to disconnect after finishing a Featured Multiplayer race. [1723933]
  • Improved AI merging smoothly into/out of pit lanes [1775509]
  • Fixed an issue causing RPMs to momentarily spike higher than expected when downshifting. [1770765]
  • Fixed an issue causing unintended camera shake when understeering. [1771739]
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when selecting a car in multiplayer races. [1774574]

Step behind the wheel of your favorite Mitsubishi Lancer or SUBARU WRX in Rally Rivals. These rugged cars maintain high speed and ferocious grip even in harsh environments. Newly added to the Showroom with Update 10, the 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR entered the rally scene mid-way through the 1995 WRC Championship. Tommi Makinen won the WRC Drivers title with 6 podium finishes and 5 victories in 1996 with the car finishing 2nd in the Constructors title.

Discover the fierce battles and tense relationships between marquee manufacturers competing for the world stage like Ferrari, McLaren, Lotus, and BRM with their Formula 70s machines in Grand Prix Grudges. Here you can choose between a duo of classic and racing-ready Spotlight cars: the 1976 Ferrari #1 Scuderia Ferrari 312 T2 and 1976 McLaren #11 Team McLaren M23.

In Hybrid Holy Trinity, you will race three iconic cars that marked the beginning of the modern hybrid hypercar era, with instant torque from EV motors adding more power to already high-performance engines. The 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder uses its hybrid system to boost performance with the highest confirmed range of the 3 cars at 420 miles. Meanwhile, the 2013 McLaren P1 differentiates its hybrid with the ability to change the rear wing angle and instantly add power. Closing out this trio, the 2013 Ferrari LaFerrari is the only one of the 3 cars to opt for a V12 instead of a V8, allowing it to accelerate to 950 horsepower!

Finally, face off against the cars built to deliver top performance and constant reliability for the longest racing stints in Endurance Legends. Spotlight cars include two of the greatest competitors in motorsport history, the 1966 Ford #2 GT40 Mk II Le Mans and 1966 Ferrari #24 Ferrari Spa 330 P4.

Pick your side and complete all four series in the Nemesis Tour to receive the 1998 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR and enter it into the Reward Showcase to experience its incredible capabilities! Your competitors will include a trio of limited-edition supercars, the 1997 McLaren F1 GT, 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion, and 1999 Lamborghini Diablo GTR.

Series within the Nemesis Tour do not have to be completed in a particular week – you have until August 28, 2024, to finish this latest Featured Tour. Spotlight cars are available at a discount for the week during which they are featured.

SPOTLIGHT CARS AND VIP DISCOUNTS

Spotlight cars are featured in the Showroom every week, available for you to acquire with a temporary 30% discount using in-game credits. Update 10 will showcase multiple Spotlight cars each week – a total of eleven cars during Nemesis Month.

RACE YOUR FAVORITE CLASSES IN THE OPEN TOUR

With each update to Forza Motorsport, the Open Class Tour gets refreshed with new events and a new reward car. Check it out under the Featured tab in Career mode.

Open Class Tour is where you can continue the journey of your favorite cars. Cars you’ve already upgraded in a different Builders Cup series can be further levelled up in the Open Class Tour.

In Update 10, we’re making some changes to the Open Class Tour. Going forward, we will have shorter series with a wider range of car classes from D Class to R Class.

Complete all 6 series in the Open Class Tour before August 14, 2024, to get the 2008 Lamborghini Reventón and race its rivals on the track in the Reward Showcase.

COMPETE IN NEW FEATURED MULTIPLAYER SPEC SERIES

Over in Featured Multiplayer, we’ve made changes in the spirit of Nemesis Month: The Forza GT Series has been split into GT2 and GT3 categories to make the racing even more fun, balanced and authentic to real-world motorsport. Please note, this change only affects how these cars are grouped for Featured Multiplayer events; the underlying division classification for all these cars will continue to be Forza GT.

Forza GT2 and Forza GT3 Spec Series will rotate each week during Nemesis Month, and we will introduce a separate Forza GT4 Spec Series in the next update. Over time we expect to continue making changes to these Forza GT spiritual groupings, and you can let us know how you would like to see them evolve on the Suggestions Hub.

Assetto Corsa's is better. But this is a massive improvement over the post it notes we have now. GT7 needs this bad. The way they have it setup now is kinda hidden on the UI, and it turns your screen DARK, depending on the side they are on. It's horrible.

It’s ok, does what it needs to, I guess…. Ever driven a modern Mazda, they got a blind spot monitor in your HUD, kinda like in a vette, that does something similar to Tesla, only not as jittery and simple in design, like older racing games where they have the arrows at the bottom telling you where they’re at behind and to yo it side, you can practically never need to look down at your cluster or in your mirrors cos it’s all their in your line of sight without overwhelming you with too much info….or maybe I’m just used to it cos gaming, and it’s a really well done UI

The HUD in my 2005 Corvette doesn't have that :). But the HUD does tell me speed, how many G's I am pulling, oil, fuel, etc. Camera's weren't a thing really in 2005.
