Here's a fresh version of the ever-popular Games Lineup thread. That's me in the picture below, in a spare bedroom that houses my videogame collection. I also work as a stand-in for Edgar Winter in my spare time.

I see those are all Xbox games. Are there no PS4 games?

Removed some baiting and follow up, as well as pointless requests for gamertags (he obviously isn't going to give it, can we drop it, please?).

Let's try again.

Game lineups. Discuss.

Alright then. Might as well post the 2016 PS4 exclusive list on the front page here.

Big Budget PS4 Games:
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Uncharted 4
The Last Guardian
Street Fighter V
Gran Turismo 7
Dreams
Dragon Quest XI
Gravity Rush 2
Persona 5
Ratchet and Clank: Re imagined

Ambitious Indie:
No Man's Sky
Wild
The Witness
Rime
The Tomorrow Children
Kill Strain
Drawn to Death
What Remains of Edith Finch

Potential Interesting Games from Japan:
Ni-Oh
Star Ocean V
Dragon Quest Builders
World of Final Fantasy

It's also fun to note that most everyone expects Sony to announce more PS4 exclusives due to their presence at both Paris Games Week (October 28th) and the PlayStation Experience at the end of the year (December 5th).

In all honesty, no joking or funny pics, there isn't all that much to compare three years in, in terms of big budget exclusives. November looks like the start of a mini landslide.

There are some games on both sides (Until Dawn, Gears U, Forza 6) that I would like to have if my money wasn't so tight. But there's nothing until November and then again in March that are sure fire must have titles for me.

The Xbox One has the better exclusives right now and has the better holiday lineup. After 2015, good luck to Microsoft. The future looks better for the PS4. Uncharted 4 will dismiss everything i just said. You can close the thread now. You're welcome.

Dragon Quest Builders does look interesting. Too bad it will probably never make it out of Japan. I'd be up for playing it if it did though.

Dragon Quest sells pretty well in the West.
Minecraft is significantly bigger in the west than it is in the east.
If SquareEnix found reason to bring Dragon Quest Heroes to the west, and fund it's sequel, then I think a Dragon Quest-Minecraft game is a safe bet.

Not ambitious?

I'm seeing a ton of comments on YT and even GAF(yeah strange) that are the same in halo 5 discussions.

"I'm not normally a halo fan, but I'm buying this."

"I need an xbox again."

"Hype levels reaching halo 3."

Not good, that tells me the old diehard fans are being pulled back in and bringing in a lot of new ones as well. Sony should have been preparing to combat this a year ago. Now sony risks all these customers spending money on xb1 versus ps4 games. Not that they're serious trouble, but why even give xbox a huge holiday season alone with the most successful current exclusive franchise in gaming? Doesn't make sense.

I hope so. Dragon Quest is one of my favorite series.

Personally I can't believe Halo fans want to buy Halo either but to your point that wasn't Sonys plan. The only thing they could have to compete is Uncharted and short of them rushing it out the door there wasn't much to be done. Certainly not in a year like you mentioned.

So you aren't getting Halo 5?

Going to hold out for some new Killzone and whatever new Destiny content Sony can money-hat?

Well I think they had more than a year, I think 2014 E3 was the "holiday" release date for this year, that's plenty of time to get something rolling to combat the most popular exclusive franchise.

Of course I'm not claiming YT as some sort of holy grail source, but I'm seeing the same comments there that I'm seeing on GAF. Everyone is lying? I guess.

No. I just think you're excited for Halo 5 (and you should be) and your mind is noticing inconsequential things leading up to release. You do realize you're directly in the middle of the hype whirlwind right now right?

Well yeah, I just see more people that don't own an xbox saying really positive things, which isn't common.

That big budget list is off as is some of these games releasing in 2016.

1.5 years is enough to develop a game that rivals one of the most popular exclusives there is? Not only is that enough time but its just that easy? Keep in mind that you would be the first to dismiss a game that was put in that slot and didn't sell 7-8 million copies.

I can't believe halo5 has any hype since PS4 is selling so well...

They had plenty of time to do something, like make sure UC4(which was already well into development) wasn't delayed. Also, having said that, I'm thinking of the sony of old, where they have plenty of options to move things around.

Where have I dismissed a game that doesn't sell those numbers? Anything close to that is great and better than nothing standing alone. What game is better to have against halo, Until Dawn or UC4? Heck why not both? halo is a juggernaut, can't expect a console with a games focus and "for the players" to have one of those, that'd be too much to ask.
