I excess menu seems to be a small issue. I think the main issue is the active player base or lack of it. Tried a few matches, Takes a long time to match up, & I get lobbies with 2v1....in the new flag mode.
The gameplay is subjective, it is fun & different, with more emphasis on cover & movement than the most shooters, but I can't see myself playing for long. But then again I don't generally play PvP shooters except for BR.
Anyway, I finished the campaign on Intermediate diff. First time playing using keyboard & mouse. Game isn't too tough on this mode except for the one boss (act 2). The mouse aim does help significantly in aiming, I am popping headshots all over the place. The cover system feels clucky as Gears 1 for me but I guess this is part of gears. Tomb Raider, even Uncharted cover system feels less clucky for me.
I am surprised steam shows 20 hours. Guess time flies when you are having fun. I rated the campaign 8.5/10. I think if Gears can expand the open world & RPG part (Similar to Jack upgrade, but for the char armor as well, as least in the campaign), it can be easily 10/10. They can take a page from the borderlands in open (Semi) world design. Very little action took place in the open terrain, but there are many well-designed points of interest in a map to enhance the experience & catered to people who like explorations.
