Sometimes it looks decent. Other times it looks meh. Same with the animations.That's next gen?

I do kinda wanna play this game, but I'm not really getting 'next gen only ' vibes from anything i've seen.
I try to be funny & google some funny j* off gif like the one you post & instead got full of di*k pics...on my work PC. I thought these are filter out automatically....

I believe so lol it looks awful to me. The animations remind me so much of PS2/Xbox era games, so basic. It's crazy they don't even have any facial animations when things are happening and that long pause between characters speaking their lines when they had their meeting was terrible.
They probably only cancelled the last gen versions so they could get this out the door, I doubt it had anything to do with really trying to take advantage of the newer consoles, the old ones had been part of the dev process for the majority of the time so the game was designed around their limitations from the beginning.
I agree. If they wanted to include last gen they could have but it would take more time and resources to optimize.
True. Man, it seems it takes longer and longer for studios to embrace the new hardware with every generation.
Yeah I mean I get that with the PS4 selling so many systems and the chip shortage if any gen was the one to keep cross gen going for the first couple of years this was it but damn even last gen games had better animations and looked better than this thing. Arkham Knight was more impressive than this although I'm sure it was running at a lower resolution.
Gameplay looks okay, but animations and graphics look PS4 levels. It better have some high FPS and resolution output.
And I think part of that, imo at least, is down to Rocksteady just being a superior developer. Not to say WB Montreal are bad per se, but Rocksteady are just legitimately really good. I can't say I'm super excited about their Suicide Squad game, I personally don't find that as interesting as all of the "what if" possibilities, but I'll still no doubt play it and I'd wager it'll be a good time.
