OhWatANight but later changed it to something else that I forgot. He always compared everything to Fortnite.

I just saw a tweet asking what everyone's game of the year is so far, I've played most of the big PS/Xbox games and I have to say they were all flawed enough in some way or another that I wouldn't call any of them GOTY even if this was late December lol. There are games I liked, H:FW, Elden Ring etc but they are flawed in enough ways that at least to me they wouldn't deserve to be called GOTY.
Elden is Ring is easily a GOTY contender, and is my GOTY thus far. I see nothing coming this year that will top it either.

No , people don't. Companies need to stop announcing games so far from release and shouldn't be giving release dates unless they know they can hit it. Can't complain about a delay if one doesn't happen.
I stopped playing it about 2 weeks ago, I played a lot just to farm runes but honestly I don't know why the hell that character is even bothering doing what he's doing lol. There are choices they've made like leaving out mission logs etc that just shouldn't be done in an open world RPG. I don't really get what the actual story is supposed to be, graphically it's mediocre most of the time and the performance is quite bad. I know you are a fan of the souls games so this is right up your alley but to me it's a challenging game that has some good qualities but also a ton of avoidable flaws.
No people have a right to complain, especially when games are announced 3 years before release, an actual date is given and then it gets delayed not too long after. I'm going to pick starfield right now because it's the most recent high profile title to be delayed, you can tell from the gameplay they showed that there was no way it was going to be ready this November, they had to have known that a long time ago.On point.

It's one thing to complain it's another to go over the top and act like the world is going to end the way many do online. Publishers/devs should agree to not even announce a game until they are 100% positive it can be released within a year and then not give the actual date until 2-3 months out at the most.
Things happen. Things change and it's not just gaming.

All you are doing is passing the buck onto gamers and ignoring the actual issue. That never works.
STALKER 2 is a special case. The first delay was obviously coming and nobody should've criticised that. The second delay into 2023 got some negativity due to what seemed like official comments stating it was coming this year just weeks before the stealth delay via a pic at Xbox's showcase. So, I think a lot of the negativity here was born from confusion.
I'm fine with delays as long as it's announced way in advance of release date but if the game's supposed to come out within the year and they keep delaying it, that's a red flag to me.
I agree, I was up at lvl 50 somewhere, and I had a good time farming, but at some point it gets stale... at least for me, maybe I'll come back sometime and finish it, but I doubt it.
But yeah, great game, just not up there with Zelda and the likes.

Pure gameplay = Elden Ring. I was addicted in that game to farm up and even platinum-ed it. It took about 75 hours or so.
Visual showcase = HFW. Nothing touches Horizon graphically this year so far. THE bar for open world games' visuals. In terms of gameplay, played similar to the first one and I had no issues with the former.
Too bad it got crushed by flight simulator that got released a few months earlier lol

Show me one complaint? Forza 8 should have been announced back in 2019, it wasn't, never saw any complaints about it. So, no, they can win.
It is only getting rarer because games are getting announced earlier and earlier.
Not only is it their fault for poor timing, poor marketing, and poor judgement, but the delays seemingly do very little. The games still release in a poor state.
It finally got announced and people complained its next year.

Complained, where. Why? Is it just cause it is 2023, or is it cause they have nothing for 2022, or maybe because tgey were left with sub par game for 5 years and can't rake it any more? Have fun figuring that out.

You can do this all year but it isn't going to change the underlying cause and who caused it. The reaction to it is natural and inevitable.

No, I'm saying the console version released in 2021 is a nice looking game for a sim. The PC version is definitely the best looking flight sim out there.
