What I liked about E3 and MS is that MS was just blasting us with game after game for an hour and a half. 60 plus games just last year, showing trailers as well as game play. They have been rocking the E3s.
But going this direction won’t have the same impact, will it? Spreading these out over the course of spring and summer? Or is it better because you are extending the media attention?
I wonder if Sony will show up on Inside Xbox. :3

Wait... we weren't supposed to do that yet?I am ready to rock out with my c*** out!
C'mon, You know its gonna be a montage!I hope this event being focused on 3rd party means they spend more time on each game overall and not rush through a bunch of trailers like they've been doing at E3. They don't have to split time between first party stuff and 3rd party and I'm not sure how many games they plan on showing but some deeper looks would be great.
Would love it if it were all demos and no story trailers that are 90% cut scenes. I'm not saying that's MS fault either, third parties decide what they want to put out there I'm sure and that's why E3 has been so forgettable the last couple of years. It has mostly been a bunch of 2-3 minute trailers with barely any gameplay one after the other and then it all sort of just blends together and becomes one big forgettable commercial. Ubisoft and some Bethesda regardless of what you think of them actually have gameplay at their pressers to go along with the trailers and I find that to be much more enjoyable.

Do you guys think pre-orders will go up that day or will it happen at the summer event?
My guess is the summer event since they're apparently playing a game of chicken with Sony over console prices.
They'll probably wait until gamestop and other retailers are open for business.
just gamestop, others are still making moneyThey'll probably wait until gamestop and other retailers are open for business.

It would be devastating to gamestop if they allowed all of the other stores to take pre-orders while they are closed, even though they barely make anything on hardware or software sales it'll still be a lot of volume and they can sell things like extended warranties etc. Besides neither Sony or MS probably know how many units they'll have ready quite yet. In the past pre-orders didn't usually start until the week of E3.
Not that they can but they don't hold the capacity like the other stores can do.It would be devastating to gamestop if they allowed all of the other stores to take pre-orders while they are closed, even though they barely make anything on hardware or software sales it'll still be a lot of volume and they can sell things like extended warranties etc. Besides neither Sony or MS probably know how many units they'll have ready quite yet.
