An even better anti-privacy method. Unplug it. Free too.

But that might not be good enough since privacy advocates may think Kinect 2 can run on electricity that can magically warp from the outlet to Kinect 2.

All the while, they have no problem with their laptop and cell phone having built in cameras and turned on most of the time. And their internet surfing is not in privacy mode, they allow cookies allowing sites to track your move, and probably haven't done a malware scan in 3 years.

Well since the Kinect is going to be placed in my room it would be the only camera facing my bed. And I just would not feel comfortable with that. But these are my thoughts and opinions. I'm still looking forward to having great Kinect experience. But I will either unplug the Kinect or get the accessory.

...or cancel their Facebook accounts with all of their details they hate to give out and stop posting status updates about every-single-thing they're doing at a given moment with a time/gps stamped photo of themselves.

And stop using Google services, or walking outside in big cities
 
If you really want to avoid the government because you think they are all out to get you, you can. Just pay cash, get paid under table so you avoid all admin/tax forms, pay cash to rent a shady place and never get a driver's license, go to the doctor, cross the border or get on a plane. No credit/debit cards and only use the internet at the library where it's free.

It can be done people!

If you don't and get accustomed to normal life of government forms and info, you can bet your sweet butt every gov't worker is super hard working with top notch FBI skills ready to nab you. lol
 
I wouldnt worry everyone seems highly strung on here at the moment. Been visiting team xbox since the reveal and only just started posting. Got jumped on yesterday for saying the user interface video might not be a perfect representation. As if id want the console im buying to be rubbish lol
Looking forward to everyone getting the console of their choice so they can just enjoy rather than complain (though they'll be more than enough of that)

Welcome to the Internet! Sorry, what you're seeking is rarer than unicorns french-kissing leprechauns. How are people supposed to enjoy their console when they're too busy waiting for some sketchy, wild and unsubstantiated rumor to trash the other console about so they can experience true next-gen excitement?

Ive even had people at my work start arguing with me for choosing the xbox, and i just have nothing to say back. The playstation seems like a perfectly good console why would i bemoan someone who makes that choice. It's just getting very silly at the moment. Sad times

Yeah people are on edge, most of us saw the TF footage and knew it was a representational vid rather than an accurate one. Albert Penello posted something today that explains it further, talking about what is different from real life.

i dunno i can see myself doing that if i was planning on stealing half :hehe: yeah read the stuff Penello posted, feel everything is blown out of proportion atm when they dont reply. Back in the day they'd (microsoft/big corporations) only feel they would need to if a large site posted something slanderous and it would effect sales. Now its just random people complaining on twitter....

Already ordered it yesterday. I'm not worried about spying, I think that is a red heron, I wanted this accessory so that I can place my Kinect 2 on top of my tv, similar to what I have for my Kinect 1.

I am interested in some uses of Kinect but in some games it looks to be horrible. I saw a video of hands on with a fighting game and the lag was so bad.

That is really cool. Now they just need to upgrade to kinect 2.0 for a more reliable interaction.

My toddler at some point after birth but before his first birthday became deaf in one ear, so while he's so far not going to be using sign language primarily, it's still something I'm very interested in.
 
In the latest episode of Podcast Unlocked, Microsoft Game Studios boss Phil Spencer was asked if a controller-based game could be in Rare's future. He answered directly: "Absolutely, I think they do." As for the notion that he or someone at Microsoft has forced Rare to focus only on Kinect, he dismissed the idea.

"In terms of force, I know people probably don't believe it when I say this: I don't force Rare to do anything. Like, forcing a studio to do something is a very short-term ambition as the head of studios because, in the end, people will vote with their feet, and they'll just go work somewhere else. And Rare has enjoyed the creative, and, frankly, the hit success of [the] Kinect Sports series; it's been an incredibly successful series for them, and it's been great for the studio.
