I'm not talking about US.
This is WW which is more important. I'm talking about the what the games have sold on each platform during the consoles life span.

6 of the all time best selling PS4 games are multiplatform games

You talking about this chart?

1610919177942.png

Of the top 10, 5 being exclusives and are 10million+ in sales are impressive on just only one platform.

Just as impressive, Spider-man in 2018 sold as much as GTA V 20million+ copies and that's with GTA being the juggernaut it is AND 4 years headstart.

Good.

So why do you think the best selling PS exclusives are outselling the best selling Xbox exclusives?

Because more people want them.
I wasn’t talking about Xbox vs PS. Go back to my response and read it again. I literally just said multiplatform games sell the best.

Why is it always plastic vs plastic for you?

Even looking at Steam, MCC and Sea of Thieves are pouncing the Sony first party games in sales as well as peak and active players.

Yeah you never do unless you find something that would favour the Xbox hehe.

When something favours Sony, you talk about multiplatforms again :tounge:

Some things never do change here, as you said.

Best-selling Ace Combat game.

1/ Ace Combat 7 : over 2,64M
2/ Ace Combat 4 : 2,64M
3/ Air Combat : 2,23M
4/ Ace Combat 5 : 1,802M
5/ Ace Combat 3 : 1,164M
6/ Ace Combat 2 : 1,092M
7/ Ace Combat Assault Horizon : 1,07M
8/ Ace Combat 0 : 792k
9/ Ace Combat 6 : 700k
10/ Ace Combat X : 476k

So do these sales numbers under NPD, Chart Track, etc. count games on Game Pass and PS Now? I assume that Game Pass is getting close to 20 million subs now. Game Pass is third party and first party AAA games. I am going to assume that subscription services like that are not being counted in the sales charts.

So for example, going forward, if Gears 6 is released day one on Game Pass, would it make sense that the game would only sell 5 million instead of 10 million because people are playing it on Game Pass? (I just made up random numbers). So internally, MS would know how well Gears 6 is doing, as I don't believe they release the subscription numbers for each game played. Externally, nobody but MS would know those numbers.

Which is why I think they are giving us player numbers instead of sales numbers?

Probably not. They aren't considered sales under a subscription service I would assume.

"Given that 2013’s Xbox One was hugely outsold by the Sony PlayStation 4, it’s convenient for Microsoft to focus on subscriptions, attention and revenues rather than the number of consoles sold." Not saying this is the sole reason but it's probably one of the reasons too.

Just remember MS do that with everything. Not just Xbox.

No because the GP subscription numbers aren't close to the units sold.
Exclusives have been on the decline since not being exclusive anymore.
MS needs to make games only on XB but they won't just like they won't keep Zenimax games off of PS.
MS is it's own worse enemy.

That didn't answer my question.

But yes, MS is keeping all of their first party games on their Xbox ecosystem including the Zenimax games they own. Zenimax is first party. As you can see, historically, the only first party game in development by MS that is on a competing platform is Minecraft. Which was originally under a contract. Phil said the game was already out for the competition, so he wasn't gonna take the game away from them since those consumers already paid for it.

Do you have a link showing when the new Fable is being released on competing platforms?

"Speaking at the Jefferies Interactive Entertainment conference, thanks Seeking Alpha, the Xbox CFO explained that whatever content they don’t decide to keep as exclusives for the Xbox platform will either be “first or best” on Microsoft’s ecosystem.

“What we’ll do in the long run is we don’t have intentions of just pulling all of Bethesda content out of Sony or Nintendo or otherwise,” the Xbox CFO explained at the conference.

"But what we want is we want that content, in the long run, to be either first or better or best or pick your differentiated experience, on our platforms. We will want Bethesda content to show up the best as — on our platforms.”

“Yes. That’s not a point about being exclusive. That’s not a point about we’re being — adjusting timing or content or road map. But if you think about something like Game Pass, if it shows up best in Game Pass, that’s what we want to see, and we want to drive our Game Pass subscriber base through that Bethesda pipeline.”

"Xbox boss Phil Spencer has revealed that Bethesda games will only be exclusive to Xbox hardware on a case-by-case basis. Whether those games will ever be fully exclusive or not is not confirmed. If not, Microsoft has stated that they will be able to recoup their $7.5 billion investment without bringing games to PS5."

Wth does Fable have to do with what I said?

It’s first party as is zenimax.

When did they announce Hellblade 2 for PlayStation?

Oh and...

While Microsoft previously expressed interest in bringing Xbox games and services to other platforms, comments from Xbox boss Phil Spencer suggest that degree of crossover is now unlikely.

In a new video interview with GameStar (spotted by Eurogamer), Spencer discussed the company's long-held goal to make its games and services more available. "It's about players making choices, gamers making choices," he says. "It really is not just offering choices for choices sake, but rather offering gamers the ability to choose how they want to experience our platform and our games.

"The thing about other gaming console platforms is that we're not able to bring a full Xbox experience on those platforms," he continues. "In places where we have, like mobile phones which we're doing now with xCloud coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for no extra charge - which we think is a great value to allow people to play on the go - and what we've done with PC in bringing our full Xbox experience there. Because we know that when somebody's playing our Xbox games, there is an expectation that I've got my Xbox Live community, I have my achievements, Game Pass is an option, my first-party library is completely there.

"And the other competitive platforms aren't really that interested in having a full Xbox experience on their hardware," Spencer concludes. "But for us, we want to be where gamers want to be, and that's the path that we're on."

They're afraid of reporting Windows sales because Linux is eating their lunch.
I assume you mean on the server side. It still seems like consumer and workstations are continuing with Windows (and Mac for consumers as well).

I toyed with a Linux OS via USB key once and I really loved it. Lean and mean. It was so fast and really was focused on tasks and function.

I am not remembering the build off the top of my head. It was a popular one.

Ah, I think it was Ubuntu maybe.
