Probably due to low supply of PS5 & Switch. Stil congrats to XBox for dong better than X1.

There's a low supply of both consoles, it's no secret that Sony is moving to make a bigger effort in NA so probably less stock for other countries, which is pretty evident in my country too.

So 8-9 million PS5's to be sold by April.

1st to 10 million wins the generation right MS?

PS train just keeps on chugging from last gen to this gen. People know what's coming. A plethora of quality exclusives each year up until the last year like the PS4.

Top 10 game sales from Jan 2020 to Jan 2021

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Madden NFL 21
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
The Last of Us Part 2
Ghost of Tsushima
Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
Super Mario 3D All-Stars
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Top 10 games sales in Jan 2021

NPD Analyst Matt Piscatella has shared a list of games that sold the best in January 2021. The best-selling PS4 and PS5 exclusives list is interesting because it not only contains the newcomers like Demon’s Souls and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but also Ghost of Tsushima.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Madden NFL 21
Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition
Demon’s Souls
Ghost of Tsushima
FIFA 21
NBA 21
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Seems like my hunch was right. Some people are waiting to get a PS5 before playing Miles.

"The biggest of which is Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The most popular PS5 game rose 172% in physical boxed sales week-on-week, jumping from No.7 to No.2. The game only missed out on the top spot by a mere 1,000 units."

UK hardware

January = Xbox > Switch > PS5
February = PS5 > Switch > Xbox

It's basically whoever can get the most hardware into the counter finishes first for that month

You should let that Wario guy on Twitter know. He can’t ever find them available in Europe.
I have the link, you can let him know, I avoid social media with a 10-foot pole when I do not have to. Not a joke

More in depth breakdown:

More than three million games consoles were sold in the UK last year, including over 450,000 PS5 machines, 310,000 Xbox Series consoles and 1.5 million Nintendo Switch devices.

PS5 ASP: 424.5£ (75/25% physical digital split)
Xbox Series ASP: 380.5£ (65/35% Series X|S split)
Switch ASP: 245£

And more:

Of course, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X would have sold a lot more if it were not for stock issues

Seems like Sony just has more units produced at this point. Outselling the Xbox consoles in both UK and US, MS's main target locations.

At least at that point. Xbox outsold the PS5 in the UK in January. Sounds like they are flip flopping on inventory.

In dollars. Units, it's the Switch. That thing is unstoppable! Wow.

Yes. In total dollars sales. Still impressive considering the limited stock supply and in a covid delayed world.

Nintendo is just in its own world, just prints money. Helps when their games are the most expensive too but people will buy it because of their children.
