Congratulations on discovering one of the reasons corporations spend millions/billions a year in marketing.
Then why did the PS2's multiplats sell more?!?!
It's simply the system with the better overall sales. Plus in terms of the Xbox 360, I doubt many sales came from multiplats looking better. The sales simply came from many people having the Xbox 360 as their only console during the gen + Xbox Live.
Now if people would just stay in school to get an education and could think for themselves instead of living off the government and following the sheep herd we'd be all set.

I've acknowledged the faults all the way back to TXB. People have selective reading i guess. Yeah, Microsoft messed up and the DRM policy and 24 hour check in is why they'll lose this gen if they do lose. I'm pointing out the fact that it's sad that people can't look past that. People are really holding a grudge against Microsoft because they thought they weren't going to be able to play used games on the Xbox One? Even after the fact there was the family share plan in place so it wouldn't have mattered much anyway?
It's the same deal last gen. People really didn't buy a PS3 because of the giant enemy crab meme at E3 2006 and because Sony was cocky? People need to get over it. If you're a gamer and you have the money and the time to play both consoles you buy both consoles. Simple as that. These armchair politics will go on forever. Nobody really cares in the end.
Yeah it is doing better but they could have blown away the competition by leaps and bounds.
Riding on the success of the 360 they could have come out with a competitively powerful console not too far behind PC tech, that is ALL about the games and everything else secondary.
The problem they have now is that people still don't know if the Xbox1 is a games console or a cable box...and if it is a games console it isn't as good of one as the PS4.
Seriously....I asked this woman I work with at my job and she thought the Xbox 1 was just a specialized cable box for NFL...
It's both, and anyone that doesn't know that who owns a computer and posts on the internet no less is the one with the problem at the end of the day. Microsoft has advertised it as the all in one set top box that plays games. The reveal was about the features and E3 was all about the games as they promised. What more do people want?
You say that as if the Xbox brand doesn't have popular franchises that attract to American gamers (including possible new ones introduced this gen).
Honestly not surprised about this. The One is more expensive, less powerful, and has the lesser multiplatform games... what do we really expect? It's a shame their solid first-party line-up is getting swept under the rug by this, but I believe Microsoft is getting what they deserve. I think they deserve to be bloodied up a bit for their IMO dumb decisions to gimp the hardware, include the Kinect, originally require online check-ins, originally eliminate used games, etc. They alienated a lot of people, including myself, though I still in the end purchased the system.
Microsoft seems to have learned nothing from Sony's mistakes last gen and what made the 360 successful, while Sony seems to have done their research. It's hard to believe this could happen, but the two companies flip flopped.

They are mad that Microsoft went in REVERSE of what the 360 was! That is what you aren't getting. Nobody is saying the Xb1 is absolute trash....but it kind of is compared to what the 360 was as a games console.
PS3 launched and it was never in dispute as to what it was and what it could do!
PS4 launched and it was never in dispute as to what it is and what it can do!
360 launched and it was clear it was all about the games!
Xb1 (even before it launched) not sure if it is about games or TV. At launch it plays games, but is plagued by weaker hardware and bad PR. (Even from developers)
I could go on about this ad nauseum but you are wrong about one thing. People obviously do care (gamers for sure care) and it is being reflected in sales.

World wide sales are really going to galvanize things.
And they are further marginalized by the facts that the competition has more powerful hardware, is cheaper, has a clearer message, (not jumbled with TV apps, and crap) AND is selling more and has more AAA first party studios.
I'm imagining how Uncharted 4 or God of War 4 will look like on PS4... mmm yummy.
Really looking forward to what the Ice team does with Uncharted and PS4 tech!
- Given the december drought of PS4s its hard to really tell the demand lead this soon, beyond it is selling well. It seems like there could easily be a lot of december sales that were pushed back till January.
- I don't get why people think one month of sales should make MS scrap it's Kinect vision? Besides Just Dance 4 their main launch game, Sports Rivals, has yet to be released. Not that SR is going to ignite sales, but if it is good, can be the game that adds balance to the system line up. Its a feature that is directly targeted to families, not necessarily the early adopters.
- I think it is becoming fairly obvious that MS is behind due to the whole switch from a digital console. You see it with these driver updates and dev kits, and performance boosts being talked about. I think it is an interesting strategy they are using. They could have pushed back the launch, but I don't think they wanted to give Sony 6 months of uncontested sales.
- There's no doubt MS got nocked off their game. The digital disaster has forced them to scramble. They need to have their act together this e3 to get back on track. Tiling, Cloud, kinect, and TV concepts need to demonstrated and not just potential. IF they can do that, there's no need to panic yet. Most people on the fence have their COD or BF and are set until next fall. MS has until then to change the narrative.
- I don't think one game will sell consoles anymore. At most they cause a spike, but Titanfall can be a game that if it disappoints can sink the XB1 and any attempt to get momentum.
disagree with the bold lol. The ps3 at launch was heavily promoted for it's blu ray player.
The reason the PS2 multiplats sold more despite inferior graphics and yet the PS4 sold more to due superior graphics is because the PS4/X1 generation is like the 360/PS3 generation and not like the PS2/GC/Xbox generation.

Pretty sure they are indeed holding a grudge. You wouldn't believe how many comments I still see say stuff like, "lol, enjoy getting Xboned by Microsoft. I ain't buying that $hit after they tried to screw us all over."
So everyone said for two years they wanted a new console for better graphics. Xbox One delivers that and they're not happy is what you're saying? That's what i thought. What did they go in reverse on? There's no battery indicator? It would be nice but it doesn't affect my gaming experience at the end of the day. There's no friends online notification? Who cares? That's all coming anyway so relax.
The PS3 launched and it was clear what it was? Are you kidding me? So no Xbox fanboys ran rampant on the net claiming that the PS3 was a Blu-ray player huh? Some people even said it was a George Foreman grill. The early PS3 ads didn't really say otherwise either. A 5 minute commercial culminating in a big 3 in the clouds? A baby with an evil laugh and then crying? Crows flying out of the PS3? What the hell was that all about? That didn't exactly scream gaming machine now did it?

So am i. So don't think i have a personal vendetta against Sony and the PS4. I'm just stating the facts. People here will tell you that i'm really a PS fan in disguise. Yet, i bought the Xbox One first. Shelled out an extra $100 and the X1 is losing the console war? Now i'm the only one here defending the Xbox One. Wow, if i'm a PS fanboy i'm doing a really sh!tty job of it.
