no your being ignored cause your dumb f***ing xbox fan boy gimmick is old and everyone is sick of your s*** and don't your worth replaying too.

Righttt. So does anyone care to take a stab at my claim that Sony doesn't have any console selling franchises besides Gran Turismo and Microsoft has many console selling franchises such as Halo, Gears, Forza, and soon to be Titanfall? The Xbox One has a higher software attach ratio but the PS4 is selling double the consoles. Can anyone explain that please?

What do you guys think is selling the PS4 right now? Multiplat games? The cheaper price? The hype of the supposed superior specs? Cause it sure isn't the games. Killzone: Shadow Fall has like 2,000 people playing online right now. Yet it sold how many copies?

That third console curse coming full circle for Microsoft.
It has just been a plethora of bad news lately for them...alot of it deserved.

Hopefully this kicks them in the head and they start doing things right again.

I'm sure MS will correct the course sooner rather than later. It only goes to show that gamers aren't nearly as loyal to one company as people think.

It's just one month. We've seen how quickly things can shift. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.

Plainview: You listed other things that cost money yes but the vast majority of that $100 difference is undoubtedly coming from kinect. They don't want to lose money and compared to their previous launches they have sold more hardware no doubt about it but they are also currently losing in all but one area (brazil) to a direct competitor, something that didn't happen last time. If they end up dropping the price this year that means one of two things has to happen, either something has to be taken out of the box or they have to start losing a decent chunk of money on the machine. The only thing they can really remove is the kinect, it's one of the biggest point of contention for a lot of gamers and it's also probably something a lot of people just don't care to use. Don't get me wrong I'm not one of these people claiming things are all doom and gloom 3 months in, that's just silly but I also think that if they continue to see Sony beating them month after month in the US and UK that they are going to have to rethink some of their strategy fairly quickly.

Because there are other features that I mentioned that are not found inside the PS4 such as the extra HDMI port, wifi direct, etc., in addition to MS making money on each console sold where as Sony is losing money on each console if most reports are to be believed. MS said they won't lose money on this generation's console sold. MS could take a loss on each console but there's no reason to.

I think Sony is making ~$20 on each PS4 sold.

True true...you just have to wonder what the hell they were thinking coming into this gen??
I mean....the 360 was the best all around console last gen...now this..????

It's like when they were coming up with the preliminary designs and concepts of the Xb1 the were like...'oh yeah guys...lets do everything in reverse this time. I'm sure that will make our fans happy!'

A console NEEDS that early momentum to stay ahead and to stay competitive...the Xb1 is already being bested and it doesn't help that the PS4 has an undeniable hardware advantage.

I'm just thoroughly disappointed with Microsoft and the Xb1. I think the system is great...but it is a regression of what was the 360 TBH.

A lot of this right now is simply due to price. Many only care about next-gen multiplats right now and therefore they are buying the box with the cheaper entry fee to play those games.

If MS can drop the price, they will be in a much better position. Also, as some have brought out, you can't really make huge conclusions on these stats. January is usually slow and the sales of next gen consoles as a whole took a HUGE drop in comparison to last month which I guess was expected due to the Holiday season ending.

Now, if the PS4 is continuing to do 2:1 against the Xbox One after the PS3 and Xbox 360 fade out more (sometime around the middle of the year I'm guessing) with PS4 & Xbox One getting bigger/higher quality games, then yeah -- that would be "panic mode time" for MS.

Drop the kinect and come out with $400 version for fall. It's what the people want!

I agree they may have to change some things up. I just don't see it being a Kinect-less SKU.

What could they do though? you can't shrink the HDD if you want to promote digital sales, and you can't remove it because the games have to be installed on it. I know some people are talking about a sku without a blu-ray player but that's not going to make a $100 difference, I also don't think it'll be a big seller if they do that either.

Different people/culture surrounding Xbox One versus the 360 with very different priorities resulted in the current situation. Can't really fault them, I'm sure they had a ton of data that showed their approach would have an immediate effect. If Sony hadn't undercut them on price and power I'd imagine the Xbox One would be doing much better. We still have 5+ years to go, it's anyone's game right now.

I will admit I get a chuckle out of the role reversal from last generation to include the fanboys.

I don't know who is being worse in this thread the sony fanboys or the ms fanboys, but I'm just laughing at both. in the end everyone is going to have fun playing these consoles.

I don't see what's changed besides people being brainwashed by Sony at E3. Hey everyone, the PS4 plays used games. Buy them, sell them, trade them to a friend. Crowd claps in excitement like it was some exclusive feature. Microsoft changes their DRM policies and yet i still see some people who think the Xbox One doesn't play used games. So it's Microsoft's fault that people can't do research?

Other than that. What has changed with the Xbox One and the Xbox brand as it relates to what the Xbox 360 delivered? The controller got better, achievements are better. Xbox Live will be even better once the power of the cloud is tapped into. Microsoft is bringing new IPs to the table and still delivering the great blockbuster franchises they delivered on the 360. So tell me, what has changed exactly?

They can cut costs through better manufacturing or taking a smaller profit. I can't recall the profit they are making but it surprised me how much it was. The manufacturing should be able to be trimmed after the first year. If they see their yields will get better then they can drop the price a few months prior without much of a fear of losing profits.

I don't think you're a doom and gloomer. We're having a civil discussion. No issue here. And I do think that if the numbers pan out and continue this way into the summer something has to be done. Getting rid of Kinect will not happen.

Oh the tears. I think MS has enough cash laying around to brute force this thing into a marginal success at the very least. The Xbone will be just fine, maybe not number one, but it's not going anywhere.

Now that would be a system seller, for me. I could care less about TF.

I could see them dropping the price of the current model to $400 and introducing a 1 TB version with Kinect for $500.

I read they were making a $15 profit but who knows how accurate that actually is, it'll certainly be interesting to see how this all unfolds that's for sure.

Well then. There you have it ladies and gentlemen. That's what makes drones and sheep. People who can't do their own research or think for themselves and they just follow the herd. Microsoft has been made out to be this bad company just like Sony was last gen and you see the results.

If they are able to cut costs enough to not lose money at $400 I could see that, otherwise I just see them phasing out this model and putting out a 1 TB for the same price.

It's just like last gen. The console with the better looking multiplats sells more multiplats. Makes sense. Right?

I would love to see book about what happen inside the gaming division these last 4-5 years.

Seems like a lot of s*** went down hill once Mattrick became Pres of the Entertainment Business Div(before the restructure)

I think it's pretty obvious that they completely misinterpreted the statistics they were seeing about people spending so much time watching Netflix and what not on the 360.

My guess would be they assumed people wanted media/entertainment put forward into the spotlight next to games, but were completely off base with that assumption.

People want the media s***, but always secondary to gaming. Should have little spotlight. Not an entire reveal conference dedicated to TV TV TV TV TV.

Also, I assume that balmer had full trust in Mattrick and played little role in the xb1 design. Onnce all the negativity started arising before even the announcement because of rumors and it being too late to turn back, Mattrick found a new job before even the announcement of the xb1 and left before the launch. He knew full well that s*** was f***ed. Same thing happen with Steven Sinofsky. Win 8 compared to win7, is a complete failure. Dude left right after launch of Win 8.

No it's Microsoft's fault they couldn't get their damn message right in the first place...

First they have DRM

Then they don't.

First you can't play used games..

Then you can...

Meanwhile Sony has had a clear and precise approach with the same message. 'Our console can play used games. Our console doesn't have DRM. Our console is for games and nothing else.'
You have to be in some serious denial to debate that. It is like night and day.

Things that have changed from 360?
When the 360 lauched it was the most powerful. Even with the PS3 lauched it was debated and still is over which was more powerful. It was all about the games from the get go. No mixed messages and crap. It spread positively through word of mouth...which is the exact opposite of what we have with the Xb1...I could go on. Xbox live on the One is still even trying to get features back that the 360 had. That is a regression.

If you want to put on blinders and not acknowledge these faults that is on you.
