Super excited to see this at e3 and I'm not a huge racing fan. Read something from a Project Cars article they felt getting 60fps at 1080p is a minor miracle with what they were working with so that speaks volumes what Turn 10 did as a launch title working with new hardware. Saw a little doc for the making of the last Forza and they were out taking pictures to getting the tracks vs. the laser scanning they did with 5. Sounds like they really had to rebuild the game up againfor X1. Any idea how many tracks if any were missed from the previous one?

Right off the bat, Forza circuit based games have a great perk. 60fps! F5 was 1080p too and so was FH 2. So the chances of F6 being juicy 1080p/60fps is probably 99.9%.

With visuals and responsiveness out of the way, it all comes down to feature set and gameplay.

Forza Motorsport 6 will be getting a huge amount of information at E3 and much of that has already been published to the Xbox Japan official website. The game will feature many fan-requested features including weather effects and night time racing as well as over 450 cars at launch with 26 unique locations to race on.

Forza Motorsport 6 is quoted to run at 1080px and 60 frames per second and features wet weather, 3D puddles, and night racing test your driving skills. Cutting-edge ForzaTech (which Microsoft recently trade-marked) engine technology powers the unrelenting action and stat-of-the-art-physics at simulation speed.

We reached out to Microsoft for comment and they informed us that "Forza Motorsport 6 will run at 1080p and 60 frames per second on Xbox One, and you will be able to learn more about the game at E3."

The game will be the ultimate car fantasy for fans featuring the most cars of this generation. Forza Motorsport 6 comes with over 450 cars on launch day, all customizable with working cockpits and full damage. The game includes 26 locations including Daytone, Rio and many more.

As with every Forza Motorsport, the game will include tuning, painting along with AI-Cloud Powered Drivatars and 2-player split screen racing and for the first time ever, 24-player races.

Will be interesting to see if they can lock that fps at 60fps again, I still think its the only console game with a truly locked 60fps @ 1080p to my knowledge.
 
Too bad this got leaked even though everything added was pretty much expected. Impressive none the less.

Can't wait. I don't think I've ever owned two racers at the same time. But there's a first for everything.

F6 will be the best circuit racer
FH2 is the best open world racer

Now we just need MS to make a Forza car combat game to make a clean sweep of the racing genre.
 
Who wants to bet F6 will look comparable to (and even better than in some ways) Drive Club, with better IQ, twice the frame rate, more content, and it'll be a better gameplay experience in virtually every way? ;-)

I think it will look virtually the same as Forza 5, with a little visual bump, but with all the added goodness. Couldn't care less if it looks better or worse than another platforms racer. I am more concerned with track quantity & quality. I want Oulton Park & Brands Hatch. I want Watkins Glen & Imola. In other words, I want new tacks never seen in Forza game before.

If they can keep forza 5 visuals but add a proper AA then that would look amazing anyway
 
I honestly am not expecting a huge graphical improvement, but honestly...FM5 still looks great. So with weather, hopefully indeed some nice AA it should be fine. Even though more graphical upgrades are always welcome.

Of course GAF is already speculating that something must have received a downgrade, or else this simply ain't possible. Why can't they just be happy about something for a change?

No real reason to think that.

If you consider that F5 was a launch title, then consider all the upgrades to dev tools, API, etc. Then factor in what FH2 was able to accomplish in a big open world, and then take in to account the experience T10 have gained, not just with F5 but FH2 as well, then that is a lot of plus points from launch.

Better tools>more experience>a little power boost = Better game.

because it wouldn't be fair that drive club is only 30 frames a second with full weather effects and night and day cycles and a corridor racer on top of that. So of couse they will cry about it. But I agree with menace. Just give me more tracks and more cars with good racing mechanics. I own driveclub for PlayStation 4 and have invested a lot of time into it. problem is when you're on the hypercar circuits, if you make one mistake, the race is over / have to restart. Ugh
