Can I get rough if needed but true impressions plz?
I've only put a couple hours in so can't really give extension impressions. I keep hearing it's the new Team Fortress but I never played that to compare. From what I played I really enjoyed it. The cast of characters is big enough I think anyone can find someone they enjoy. Game looks and plays wonderfully. Didn't get a hint of lag at all in the dozen or so matches I played. I'm not too familiar with game modes or total map size so that might be my only worry. I know of king of the hill and escort mission. There is also something called brawl mode but no clue what it is.Can I get rough if needed but true impressions plz?
There's a tutorial you can play.Does the game just throw you into battle without any tutorial?
The player vs bots mode is pretty good as well to learn the characters. Hard AI has aimbot and wall hacks I think.
I'm on the fence buying it. It looks alot of fun. Multiplayer-only and no campaign is a shame. Plus I have no friends to play with.I can't seem to get into this just based on the advertising alone, which is having an annoying, adverse effect on me.
It is fun. It has kind of a "rock, paper, scissors" thing going on.
I have major concerns about balance since the beta (supposedly final release is the same as beta) but it is still fun for now. I think a few classes dominate the game (and no, Bastion is not one).
The problem with the game is of course people. End up with a bunch of randoms who are useless and you're going to have a miserable game. It is fun to play the different characters which forces you to completely change your playstyle.
I think there are tweaks that can be made but as you said people being bad and the RPS nature of the game leads people to thinking a lot of characters are OP. Much of that is just people being unwilling to adapt.
I'm interested in the game, but don't think I'll have the time to really enjoy it.
Hmm much talking is happening while I play on the PS4 version...There's definitely a learning curve. Not a hard one, but you need to put time into the characters to learn them. Of course you don't need to learn them all at once, but it helps if you know what your opponents are doing. 21 characters and many are really unique and you have to know how to play them.
The big problem with the game is your teammates. In this game, your teammates are key. If they aren't playing a smart role and adjusting to the other team, forget winning. I know playing this game with randoms is going to make me rage at times, especially on the no-mike PS4 side.
The kind of lone wolf player that picks one class and refuses to change is going to get steamrolled.
The game is good. It's a shame it's $60 on console for pretty much no reason at all though.
Its $60 because every other game is $60.
Its $60 on the PC as well unless you buy the stripped version.
