Ofcourse they will. They are current gen games getting boosted graphics on much more powerful hardware. But they are still current gen gamed built for current gen hardware. That isn't proof cross gen doesn't hinder next gen development.

It is the same as Miles Morales on PS5. It just looks like a prettier version of the PS4 game.

Except that's not what he was conveying. He flat out shows he's cheering PS exclusives while decrying Xbox exclusives. He's "cheering" it because Xbox fans would be cheering a big exclusive also. It's absolute admitted pure bias. He's celebrating it now, decried it then.

Yeah I can agree with that. I'm more talking about the narrative and negativity directed towards Microsoft because of HI.

Even Sony joined in the stupidity with their generations comment. Ryan McCaffery with his little rant. Etc..

I don't think its the "cheering" that is the problem with the tweet. Saying its a big get is fine. Its him waving his finger at people saying its bad for the industry when he has said the same in the past.

I don't think the temperatures are going to be an issue. Sony was going all out with their cooling solution to keep that high GPU clock from melting the SoC. As for the rest of that we really won't know until we have these consoles and people like DF do a proper breakdown.

But its shows clear hypocrisy and probably bias. Its ok for one, but not the other?

But in fairness, I used the "its just business" line with Tomb Raider.
But I agree with you now that its just not a great practice for gamers.

Well, I mean Sony doesn't have a good track record of having consoles at launch that run quiet and cool. See launch Launch Fat PS2, Fat PS3, Fat PS4, PS4 Pro.

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO and President Jim Ryan has stated that "99 percent" of the "thousands" of PlayStation 4 games its tested will be playable on PlayStation 5via backwards compatibility.

Speaking to The Washington Post, Ryan also discussed Sony's new PS Plus Collection, which will offer "18 PS4 first-party titles for download to subscribers to the PlayStation online service."

Ryan continued to say that he "expects up to four years for the PlayStation 4's expected life span."



"The PS4 community will continue to be incredibly important to us for three or four years," Ryan said. "Many will transition to PS5, we hope if we do our job well, but tens of millions will still be engaged with the PS4."

This commitment to PS4 was echoed with Sony's announcement that Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy a Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4.

However, this decision does seem to go against Ryan's previous statement that he was not interested in making PS4 versions of PS5 games.

They bought it on themselves. Don't get me wrong, I know there is this double standards aspect, but MS trying to push the silly narrative that cross gen doesn't hinder next gen, they bang on about most powerful hardware, they say the show will show off the power of the XSX, and it it's their flagship game. Then they show HI. Even in a perfectly balanced and fair would the backlash would happen.

It simply wasn't a good showing.

Sony is always right, even when they contradict the stuff they said previously, they are just being even more right!

By the way, the anti-MS bias goes way beyond gaming. It is all over in other products as well. I work in IT and see it all the time. My company has a big deal with MS and basically gets all their software for a flat rate. So, we could use things like MS Teams and Sharepoint for "free", but we use other products instead, without even evaluating the stuff we already paid for. We jumped right into Zoom without even trying Teams.

They may but they are getting called out on this. People are just looking the other way and pretending they aren't so they can talk about poor Microsoft

But its all just PR from both that everyone should have always taken with a grain of salt but we have to score points for our teams so screw that

Cross gen games hold back next gen games. People hated it cross gen games at the beginning of this gen. This forum especially. Now I have no idea what anyone thinks because now its all console war related.
