Like I said, the XSX is more powerful but there ARE a couple of things the PS5 can do better but that doesn't make it more powerful or a tie or anything like that and nobody thinks it does. People seem to want to turn that into some kind of "you can't accept the power" and it's childish lol. I'd also point out that Jason Schreier has said devs are telling him the PS5 is better in some ways, that guy isn't some console warrior and he leaks legit stuff all the time.
I've been saying since last year when the rumors were all saying that the PS5 was more powerful that it wouldn't matter and that the games would look pretty much the same on both platforms regardless of who was technically stronger because we are getting to a place where it takes a bigger gap in power to make a noticeable difference .

NX was not on point. He was blatantly wrong about very basic things. He does not have the history, as much at stake, the resources or connections that Digital Foundary has built up over the years. To say he was right means that Richard fabricated information to help Microsoft. It's one thing to have your own opinion but when you're living on another planet in terms of facts, it's not even fun to debate you anymore. Which is why people are getting pissy with you. At this point, let's just stop this back and forth. There's nothing to discuss when people live in alternative realities and use fiction as fact. It's like trying to debate Alex Jones on why water doesn't make frogs gay.
I think it's time for the rest of us to move this conversation forward to the things these consoles are capable of doing and move beyond the pissing contest. In the end, the pissing contest barely matters. There's some really cool things that will be possible across the board next gen.

Xbox Series X will always be superior in every way regarding rendering capabilities. Every frame the PS5 can render can be done both BETTER and FASTER on Xbox Series X.

...and this is the point Val. In the end, a storage device, no matter how creatively it's used is not going to compute or draw anything. Ultimately the power is determined by compute unless there's some horrible bottleneck as a result of a design flaw...which outside of NX Gamer, nobody has even suggested.

I'm aware. He contradicts DF. He talks about advantages he cannot prove (such as audio offloading) being superior on PS5. Creates bottlenecks without proof. Talks about features that are exclusive that aren't.
In the end, none of the pissing match matters that much to me. I've downplayed the power difference numerous times in this thread. If the PS5 were more powerful, it doesn't change much. I was excited about the 360 when it was expected to be much further behind the PS3 than what actually happened. I went with Xbox One first when the hardware was borderline depressing. Most powerful isn't even at the top of my list. I just want good tech for my dollar.
I jumped in because you're calling out people who've established their careers and credibility on trying to be fair, who don't pretend speculation is fact in favor of a YouTuber who's doesnt have the same level of information. There are WAAAAY worse fanboys at Era and Gaf. Like, way worse. There were people on GAF calling people pathetic for not thinking the PS5 was going to be 13-14 tf, or giving credence to the Git-hub leaks, which was likely true when they first came out.

Every other site I visit outside of here is pretty bad, both sides seem to be on damage control for silly reasons, it's very tame on this board, keep it up fellas!
Yeah, I keep hearing about Naughty Dog losing tons of people too. Next gen will be interesting. I'm ready to see if MS has stepped up
I think both Xbox and PlayStation 1st party devs heavily rely on external and contract work very heavily. A lot it comes from asIan tertories. There was some article about it, somewhere.
The initiative seemed to be going heavy on it too, basing their work on the way Hollywood hires people, temporarily in guessing. Cos they want to keep their team small.
ND lost some people but honestly every studio does it's just the high profile studios are the ones that everyone pays attention to, 343 lost some people pretty high up in the food chain there and everyone seemed to forget about that just a few days after it happened lol.
I do wish this crunch stuff would get sorted out for the sake of everyone working in the industry, that article about how bad it is when ND goes into crunch (I'm sure it's just as bad at a lot of other studios) was pretty sad, nobody should devote that much time to work even if they want to. That being said I don't know what can be done other than making sure directors have a clear vision from the start, that they don't run into any problems during development and don't announce a release date until the game is basically done and that seems impossible. I saw Pete Dodd tweet that his ex wife works in the movie industry doing make up and they work 16 hour days or thereabouts all the time when they are shooting and that's just how that industry works, it could be that this is just how gaming has to work although I'm sure some improvements can be made.
