If there is ever a time for a Boobie shake, it would be now.

I told you already by the end of 2014 Wii U will have higher lifetime sales then the XBO.
Hmmm... X1 on shelves for one year, Wii U for two years. A possibility Wii U will sell more.

Interestingly, I've seen you make this claim before, but have never said anything like.... what about X1 vs Wii U sales by end of 2015 or longer , which will make the on shelf comparison at 3 vs 2, 4 vs 3, 5 vs 4 etc...

For a friendly bet, I'll take it a step further, I say Wii U sells more units than PS4 by end of 2013. PS4's massive sellout should be a slam dunk for millions of sales while Wii U is barely selling any.

By 2015 it will be even more likely..I can make that claim :)

If you honestly think the X1 is dead in the water right from launch then sorry but you need to give your head a shake. Nintendo f'ed up with the WiiU, it has no interest, no hype, nothing to propel it forward but a couple of first party franchises. It doesn't have the je na sais quoi that the Wii had. By the end of the launch window (so march or so next year) I'd say both the X1 and PS4 will have met or exceeded the WiiU's total sales.

Without a major price drop I don't see XBO having better lifetime sales then the Wii U NOPE.
Nintendo and Sony will as usual battle for 1st place with MS as usual in 3rd.
You really think the WiiU has a chance? Sorry I just don't see it, they had a dismal launch, and it's only fizzled out since then. They will probably get some sales during the holidays of course, but outside of that I don't see them getting much between this holiday season and next holiday season, especially with all the top games coming out on better platforms, Nintendo's 1st party games just aren't cutting it anymore

True. I mean you look at games like COD or GTA 4 where the xbox version was superior either graphics/performance or content and yet sales were fairly split. I believe in this day and age console sales and game sales are no longer done on an individual basis, but by groups of friends ( real life or Live).

Not really fair comments.

1. Wii U doesn't exactly have an abundance of quality software, and your logic falls flat when you consider the Wii. This obviously shows that graphics are not the be and end all for a crap ton of people. Those people include many gamers on forums such as this.

2. Improved graphics is inevitable, but I think you would find most are more interested in the potential advancement in other areas and the prospect of new Ip's.

Wii was popular because it appealed to people who wouldn't normally play video games. Not because core gamers enjoyed it. I'm a firm believer that core gamers actually enjoy nice graphics. Do you consider yourself a core gamer? would you be happy with only a Wii? I doubt it.

All these resolution debates with unconfirmed info. All to really hide the fact PS4 is down to Knack and KZ as the exclusives, while X1 has many more. Including the only 1080p/60fps full budget game.... Forza 5.

I'm really curious how Halo 5 will stack up to killzone.

Not sure it would be entirely fair to compare games that have a year apart in launch time, a year in which the devs can use to get more aquainted with the tools, not working on a moving target, and possibly more mature updated tools as well.

In all seriousness If MS can get the ipad parent to jump to the XBO then I could be wrong.
I am betting otherwise though.

Ok then, Well only time will tell. No matter what happens I'm going to have fun playing games :p

I think though that MS's approach has been to target the 'ipad parent' as you put it, and families in general. The obviously had their eyes set on broadening their target market so we will have to see if that pays off. If MS can do what everything thinks they are doing (making that singular ecosystem with shared marketplaces and bringing W8 games/apps to the X1) then I think they might have a really good shot at it.

As for all the other stuff blowing up over the weekend, I will make one small comment: There is a really bizarre phenomenon going on right now where the frenzy for news, drama, and behind-the-scenes dealings is clouding logic and reason. There is nothing going on behind the scenes nearly as interesting as everyone would like to believe. We are a month away from launch, and people are working hard to finalize the last of the bugs. There are still a lot things left to be done. We’re crunching and I’m sure Sony’s crunching too.

I know people are excited. I’m sorry but things are nowhere near as dire or dramatic or exciting as everyone would like to believe. That’s why I’m not commenting on every single random rumor that comes along, because everything I see is so drastically overblown vs. reality.

Good read. As usual, MS responds in a tactful manner while Sony execs keep their mouth shut absorbing all the anti-MS posts. I'd do the same. Sony has an advantage of more loyal defenders. The 1.5 patch forcing an internet patch to do basic features, and no resume/suspend is already an after thought despite MS publicly telling gamers a day 1 patch is needed well in advance 4 months ago, yet they got yelled at.

Two different corporate mindsets and two different consumer mindset. Not surprisingly, that leads to two different marketing/PR strategies.

Well the ipad parent usually pays $400-$600 so it is possible that those parents will drop $500 on a all in one game machine(as XBO offers allot).
I don't see families in general doing it though...

He works for MS, of course he'd say that

 Sorry, had to. In all seriousness I am really impressed with AP's fortitude and togetherness that he puts in his posts, with the way GAF/twitter treats him I would have blown up at them by now. He keeps his professionalism the best he can, definitely a better PR face than Mattrick

I think you are going to be very upset when X1 comes out on top at the end of the next gen cycle.

The X1 doesn't have to 'win'. The PS4 does. If the PS4 doesn't utterly dominate the X1, Microsoft wins by default because Sony will go bankrupt.

Sony like Microsoft is under intense pressure to sell off the PlayStation division.

Feels like it's getting pretty ticklish in here.

Then have a talk with those that started the agenda, not those who are tired of the cr@p being spun.

I think you interpreted my comment as some kind of warning. No, I'm just commenting on the fact that people are doing a lot of fanboy bickering. No rule against that. It's a bunch of arguing about trivia, but I guess that's what people who enter a thread like this are interested in participating in, so have at it. We shut down the tickle fight thread, so this stuff has to erupt somewhere.

I'm sorry, didn't mean to come off as combative to you. Just usually when you do say things (and usually appropriately I will add), I just hope the correct "surveillance" takes place.

We're good. I know you're not out for me personally, at least as far as I know. ;)
