Dream C Club on PS4 Will Run at 1080p, 60 FPS “Super Smooth;” “PS4 is Really Easy to Develop on,” Says D3

An anonymous representative of the development team behind the upcoming PS4 exclusive by D3 Publisher Dream C Club: Host Girls on Stage was interviewed by Sony as part of the “Conversations with Creators” series of videos, with a longer write-up published on Famitsu. Why anonymous? You can just check out the video at the bottom of the post for that, and for a good laugh.

That said, the “anonymous representative” mentioned that the game will run “super smooth!” (exclamation mark included) at 60 FPS, 1080p. He also added that, while he doesn’t work on coding himself, the team says that the PS4 is “Easy to develop on! Really Easy to develop on!” (again, repetition and exclamation marks included).

The question is: will the game ever come to the west? Your guess is as good as mine, but my money is on “not a chance.”

When I saw this I had a WTF moment lol.

lol so great.

When I first saw this gif I went hysterical! So awesome!!:bang:

I'm not sure about the model number.

Is it pretty recent? I'm not sure but after putting it to Full, the blacks are more black while still retaining shadow detail for me. When I set it back to Limited, the picture seemed a bit washed out compared to Full.

PS4 Controller LEDs Suck (the battery)

The new Playstation 4 Dualshock controllers are super high-tech. They have bright shiny lights on them to prove it.

But [xn0] from neograf.com had a suspicion about these new-fangled controllers. That LED light bar is awfully bright, how much power does it consume?

As it turns out, quite a bit. After dismantling one of his controllers he discovered the LEDs are connected to the main PCB with a ribbon cable — super easy to detach. He then performed some rather unscientific tests of leaving the controllers on over night. His empirical conclusion? If you leave the controller with lights on it will die within 24 hours, if you disable the lights, it will still be at approximately 66% battery capacity after the same amount of time.

Another user on the forums quickly pointed out that this test could have been as simple as using a multimeter — so he did that afterwards. The LEDs appear to draw around 40-50mA, which isn’t that much, but it is more than the controller uses while idle (30-40mA)!

We assume Sony will add a firmware option to turn these lights off in the future, but until then, if you’re really dying for an extra hour or so of gameplay, it’s a super easy modification.

After going back and calibrating once again, found out the RGB full indeed crushes my blacks. Had to re-calibrate my set and now it's all good.

I've read that you should set the RGB to automatic first, then try setting it to full. If the TV set flickers for a moment, then limited would be the better option. Likewise, if you set automatic first and if you set to limited first and it flickers, then you should use full.

Either way, I've set it to automatic and the blacks are fine now. Re-calibrated and got deeper blacks and more vibrant colours.

Thanks. The Xbox One has a nice little calibration tool that I used and it does indeed help.

The specs on my TV mention full color spectrum or something. Sounds like fluff. I'm not sure if my TV supports full range RGB. I'll just choose auto like you suggested.

Yeah VVVAizen93. I can't wait for that either. And I'm not even a huge MGS fan. Even though I have always found the universe interesting.

The CQC @ 8:08 is really what i always wanted Snake to do in previous games ... finally he is starting to look like a dangerous secret agent and not playing around hiding in boxes or barrels, i really hope those are out of the game and it's looking like you can't carry too much guns. I mean where did he used to hide the arsenal in the previous games haha. This is really Stealth and finally Snake is looking like he can kick Sam Fisher's Ass. Kojima pls pls pls don't bring back the silly box and dumb gameplay aspects.

IGN for PlayStation App Out Today on PS4

Greetings once again, PlayStation.Blog! My name’s Colin, IGN’s Senior Editor. You may have seen me skulking around IGN PlayStation and making terrible predictions on Podcast Beyond, but today, I’m not here to make any pizza bets with you. No, I’m here to tell you about something exciting we’ve cooked up for PS4 owners.

IGN for PlayStation, our new app for PS4, is available today, and I’m pleased to tell you that you can download it for yourself — free of charge — when PlayStation Store updates. The app is currently exclusive to PS4, and will come to PS3 and PS Vita next year.

How does this benefit you, exactly? IGN’s PS4 app will make you more popular with your friends, give you more energy, and even make the food you eat taste better (that’s not true). But more importantly, our PS4 app will give you direct access to all of IGN’s video content, letting you create custom playlists, while finding and consuming the exact content you’re seeking.

What’s truly cool about the app, however, is how granular you can get with it. You can rapidly come in and out of full-screen view, minimize a video and let it run in the corner while you keep on browsing, and skip unwanted content with a press of R1. Whether you’re looking for a preview, a review, some help with a game, or just a totally inane conversation about nothing at all, IGN’s PS4 app is here to make your gaming life better.

So head over to PlayStation Store to download the app, and let me know what you think.

‘Til next time, my friends. Beyond!

The IGN App for PS4 can be found in the TV & Video section of PS4′s home screen, or in the App section of PlayStation Store.

Question: I've just switched my PS4 on and I got an error stating one of my games (NBA 2K14) online storage data 'NBA Today' could not be loaded because there's no space.

Has anyone had this before? I'm sure there's an easy fix.

I did have an error earlier with NBA 2K14 saying that it can't be uploaded to online storage. And starting yesterday i also had issues booting up the game I'd have to quit and try a couple of times for it to work. It's fine now, though.

PS4 is the "leading system of this generation" - DFC

Copy and paste job, go easy.

DFC Intelligence notes that Sony's 2.1m sold is the best first two weeks of any console launch in history

The PlayStation 4 has been off to a fantastic start, selling over 2.1 million consoles across the globe. While Sony has noted that it's the best start for a PlayStation system in the history of Sony Computer Entertainment, what some people may not be aware of is that it's also the best start for any game console in history, DFC Intelligence noted today.

The research firm said that the 2.1 million units sold in the system's first two weeks on sale (first in North America and then in Europe) places it above Nintendo's Wii, which sold 1.6 million units in its first two weeks (in Japan and North America) and Sony's own PS2, which sold 1.4 million units in Japan back in March 2000.

Microsoft's Xbox One sold over 1 million units in its first two weeks, but the red-hot start for the PS4 only reinforces DFC's forecast that Sony's new console will be "the leading system of this generation." DFC agreed with SCE boss Andrew House that PS4 could outsell the PS3, but it's doubtful PS4 will approach the mighty sales of the PS2.

"The initial success of the PlayStation 4 bodes well for its future. The PlayStation 2 and Wii went on to be the best selling console systems ever. DFC Intelligence does not believe that the PlayStation 4 will surpass those systems but reiterates its forecast that the PS4 will be the number one system of this generation," the firm said.

DFC also commented that Xbox One may be slightly more supply constrained: "The Xbox One has been difficult to find although from all indications DFC believes Microsoft did not ship as many units as the PlayStation 4."

A little premature, no?

Just a heads up. A new software update is up (1.52). Just appears to be a simple "stability" patch.

2014:
12/10 North America Doki-Doki Universe
01/07 North America Don't Starve: Console Edition
02/07 North America The LEGO Movie Videogame
02/25 North America Rayman Legends
Thief
03/03 North America Driveclub
03/21 North America inFamous: Second Son
04/01 North America MLB 14: The Show
04/08 North America LEGO The Hobbit
09/09 North America Destiny

I'm interested to see what Doki-Doki Universe is like. Seems like a unique, mellow game. And I wonder if Rayman Legends is getting the next-gen upgrade or if that is just a straight port.
